ASCII character messed

Hi gurus,
I don't know if this is the right forum.
Just recently, we migrated our Oracle 9.2.0.8 between Windows 2000 and HP-UX.
An application is always written using C.A Clipper 5.3

Problem is that the Ascii Code is now dirty. For example, we send gentle transport return chr (141) that is exists in Windows, but not UNIX.
so UNIX translate differently become chr (191) and sending back Windows by using the value of chr (191) which is like +? + upside down.

Is there anyway that we can define for UNIX can automatically compatible with Ascii in Windows?

If not, we map our character with a using trigger and translate the function.

Please any suggestion?

Thank you
Lie

  • Why teststand cannot display the ASCII character which number up to 128?

    Hi all

I encountered a problem on an application for ASCII characters, why teststand cannot display the ASCII character which number up to 128?

For example: an expression Local.xx = Chr (164).

XX--> chain, can't do the correct string.

    An idea for this?

    OS: WinXP, SP1 Teststand2012.

    Thank you very much.

TestStand uses encodings multibyte code page, that you have defined for the operating system-based. If you are using a code page that requires multibyte characters, you should also make sure that you have the Options of Station-> location-> parameter Regcognize multi-byte characters is enabled.

On Windows 7, at least, the code page of the operating system setting is located in the control panel "Region and language" in the "Administration" tab where it says "language for non-Unicode programs".

    Hope this helps,

  • How can I add an ASCII character in a message?

An ASCII table that I could call the other Windows Live would be perfect.

Start > all programs > Accessories > system tools > character map

Select a standard font and extended characters, you need and the code Alt + is located in the right corner

So Alt + 0174 produced the® character that is not available on the standard keyboard, Alt + 0190 = ¾

  • You've blocked the sending of an email. What is the non-ASCII character?

I am email all ready to send and you blocked it because: "there are non-ASCII characters in the local part of the address of the recipient. It is not yet supported. If please change this address and try again. "whatever that means?

You probably use the accented characters in the e-mail address. The server you are trying to send through cannot process non-ASCII characters.

From the Wikipedia article - "ASCII":

The encoded characters are numbers 0 to 9, letters a to z, uppercase letters from A to Z, basic punctuation symbols, control codes that originated with the teletypes and space.

It is a common problem with some older servers. Check the email address. You may be able to send if you change just accentuated with no accented characters. No guarantee.
If the accents are necessary, you will need to find another server to use. (gmail?)

  • How to locate PSD after moving, character messed up?

I've spent a lot of time to get the characters installation perfect, and then I moved PSD to another folder without thinking of her. Now when I go into animation character, I don't see there is rainbow color when the media is not found. To re-import just PSD does not work because a lot of changes have been made, how a media guide, similar to how you spot the media with premiere pro?

    wtf.png

Problem solved! I was able to fix by putting the PSD back where it was originally, Haha I got scared that I lost all the settings for one minute, a nice feature would be able to move media and somehow saves the settings in a separate in character animation file.

  • convert integers in equivalent characters in string - character of ASCII code

I got out of my data and information of the associated string to an array of strings, and then to a spreadsheet file.

I want to do this by converting an identical string of characters (integers and other numbers).

I tried Type font with a constant string as the input of type but it DOES NOT WORK.  Instead, I get the ASCII character whose numeric designation corresponds to the integer, for example integer '50' become 'P' capital.

    I want all over '50' string '50 '.

Please advise, and no, I don't want to make the berries of the clusters.

I found my answer, but only after the search for 'Number' rather than 'Integer' conversion conversions.

In the range of programming - number of string - string/number of Conversion - decimal string functions:

'Converts number to a string of decimal digits less than width characters wide or more if necessary. If the number is floating point, it is rounded up to a 64-bit integer before the conversion. »

  • One of your filters uses a custom header that contains an invalid character.

When I send an email, you receive the following error message:

«One of your filters uses a custom header that contains an invalid character, such as ':', a nonprintable character, a non-ascii character or an 8-bit ascii character.» Please change the msgFilterRules.dat file, which contains your filters to remove characters not valid in your custom headers".

It is followed by a message saying that the email was sent and saved despite the error.

The problem occurred after the transfer to 10 Windows (from Win 7)

I deleted all files msgFilterRules.dat and all filters, but the message persists.

Any suggestions on what else to try?

    Thank you
    Ben

    Problem solved.

After you delete all files/imap mail entries, the problem disappeared.

  • Unicode character on the command line

I have a folder that contains a non-ASCII character, "registered sign" (®), which can be typed in a Terminal by using the-r option.

It is U + 00AE, and as an 8-bit character, it is 174 decimal. I want to be able to enter this character on the command line without

typing Option, because I have to build a Terminal command using an application that

is not respectful of Unicode. So option-r helps me create a string that contains this character.

For example, in the Terminal, I made a folder in ~ with as its name in full (I typed a r while pressing the option key):

    > mkdir ~ /.

    I can list help

    > ls ~ /.

but I have to be able to do so * without using any modifier key * (as option).

I thought I could use something like (after cd ~)

    > ls \302\256

    or

    > ls \u00AE

    or

    > ls \xc2\xae

but I could not do the shell to interpret what I type as registered r symbol. Everything what I enter is interpreted

literally as individual characters rather that, for example, the \xC2 is considered a single character. I also tried different combinations

quotes as double the backslash, but I continue get "No such file or directory".

How can I represent this character on the command line without modifier keys? I'm on El Capitan, OS X 10.11.2, running bash 3.2.

Have you tried zsh instead of bash?

I think bash supports \u starting only 4.2

  • concatenate a string in hexadecimal with ASCII string

    Hello

I'm new to LabView and I am building an application that talks to a camera. I'm stuck on something that seems simple enough: I need to concatenate a constant string of hexadecimal values (040D 0002...) with an ASCII hexadecimal string (00D0A10F, for example), which is emerging from a block 'number in string Hex. ' The output must be a string of hexadecimal values (040D 0002 00D0A10F) and go to the camera, but the block CONCATENATE transforms the ASCII string in hexadecimal display too, so that each character is converted to two hexagonal symbols...

I found a very old post where someone claims that they have found a solution; Unfortunately, it is not displayed...

Does anyone have an idea, how to do?

    Thank you very much!

    Michal

    Hello

Give it a try - it converts an ASCII hexadecimal characters in ascii character string.

So, if you view the output as hex, she must concatenate correctly with your other data.

  • Converts a hexadecimal string to ASCII by VBAI

    Good day, experts, OR the

I would like to ask for help on the stage of the VBAI calculator. Is there a way I could convert a hexadecimal string to ASCII character? For example 25 (Hex) to %(ASCII) or, if not in the calculator to other methods? I'll have to send data via TCP/IP later.

    Thank you very much
    Andrei K.

Now I understand what you want. You can actually do from TCP step. First of all, you need get the length of the string in a digital as you did in step of the calculator, but then you can send this digital as a hexadecimal string of ascii to TCP step. To do this, have the length of the string as a numeric result in the return of calculator. In the TCP step, add a "Write" command and insert a result. Select the digital output of the step of the calculator and U8 of the data format. You can use the display/Hex Normal display to view the data that will be sent, and when displaying normal view, you can see that it is a '%' value when length is 37. See the attached screenshot to see how I did it.

    Hope this helps,

    Brad

  • output ascii 'code' for serial port

Hi all, I don't know it is a simple problem, but I was try and fight the scourge. If all goes well it will take someone smarter than me almost no time at all. I am trying to contact a relay via the serial port (http://www.controlanything.com/Relay/Device/R45PRO ) box. It has a set of simple controls and looks like it should be easy. Unfortunately, the box is awaiting receive a number (an ' ASCII Code' as their described manual) rather than a normal ASCII character. So, if I try to send this "254" is he talking about listening to a command, the write VISA function it sends 50,53,52 or some such. I searched and found a bunch of examples for fixing such problems on the side of the reading, but none of them does not seem to work for me. I'm now resort to try things bothered as the conversion of a number and a Boolean and then to a string table, but is not do me any good either. I also tried just to send a string constant in hexadecimal and just write FE hoping that will get it in the mode of listening... but then I can't understand how to add a \n at the end character. If anyone has any suggestions, I would be very pleased them. Thank you, mike

What you're looking for? The same question has been asked hundreds of times.

First of all, learn how to do a right click. If you did this on your control station / constant, you would have seen the Hex display and '-' Code display options.

If you wish, you can use a U8 to set a single byte. Use the conversion feature and the output of wire to the entry VISA.

You can use a table of U8, and either the cast or byte array to a string. Flatten it to a string can be used instead the typecast if you wish.

  • How do I enter ASCII characters?

How do I enter ASCII characters on my dell inspiron 1420

To insert an ASCII character, press and hold the ALT key while typing the character code. For example, to insert the degree (°) symbol, press on and hold ALT while typing 0176 on the numeric keypad.

Note: You must use the numeric keypad to type numbers and not the keyboard. Make sure that the Numlock key is on if your keyboard requires to type numbers on the numeric keypad. If you use a laptop you have to press the "fn" + "Numlock" (light Verr Num will be lightup), and then you use the keys that double as numbers (numeric keys) M (0), J (1), K (2), (3), U (4) i.5, O (6), P (.), 7 (7), 8 (8) and 9 (9). Don't forget to disable the 'NumLock' (press fn + NumLock) or the keys will always type the numbers.

  • Problem reading data ascii properly

I have two programs that communicate with each other via a TCP connection. When I write data "STX + 1234" where STX is STX Ascii character or Ctrl B and I hope the length of the string written to 6 that is. On the other side of the socket, I create the ServerSocket and the client socket InputStream to create a BufferedReader. When I get the string has now 12 characters where every original character has been replaced by no ONE and the character.  How do I read the string as specified originally without conversion? And the problem with reader or the side of the writer?

I ended up using writeBytes and there is no conversion to UTF - 16.

  • Enter the keyboard ASCII characters

I have a new Inspiron 15R. His keyboard lacks a number pad. I was used to enter an ASCII character directly from the keyboard by pressing ALT + Fn + 0151, for example, to get a dashboard m on the screen. This laptop lacks a number pad. Then, on how to enter ASCII characters directly?

AutoHotkey is promising. I'll give it a try. Also, after some poking around in Outlook, I found the key to the symbols. He has a couple of symbols in double for the dash and the dash m and is located next to the symbols in the character array. For example, pressing Alt + X on 2012, you get a character exactly as a dash. The code for the dashboard m is 2015, Alt + X. thanks, everyone.
