This affects the installation/upgrade day on RHEL 6.5 that has 2.6.32 kernel - 431.el6.x86_64 later.

...

For the moment 2.6.32 - 358.el6.x86_64 kernel must be maintained in the system to install kmod-oracleasm version 2.0.6.rh1 - 2.el6.x86_64 up to what a fix is planned yet.

When support for RHEL based 7 facilities? We prepare for you present to a RHEL 7 from datacenter and we can't seem to find a HIT for Equallogic

So, ONCE in 2015, is basically what you're saying.

Wow this is a very tight timetable for a company of $60 US per year.

Its been over a year since the last version of Linux has HIT (April 2014) and in terms of support of RHEL7:

«Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 (Maipo) is based on Fedora 19, upstream Linux kernel 3.10, systemd 208 and GNOME 3.8.» The first beta was announced December 11, 2013, and a release candidate first aired April 15, 2014. On June 10, 2014 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 was officially released. »

Rhel7 has been officially available for more than a year, none supported yet of Dell.  I hope that Dell realizes that is telling its Linux customers to shop elsewhere.

  • When support for RHEL based 7 facilities? I see in the post of March/April... Now its may?

When support for RHEL/ORACLE 7/7.1 based installations? We prepare for you present to a RHEL 7 from datacenter and we can't seem to find a HIT for Equallogic

not so long ago, the message was 'start-2015'. now "somewhere" later this year

It seems that we should not expect too much from the reliability of this information, most of the time they are simply not true.

  • Where can I find download for RHEL 5.6 oracle 9i?

    Hi all

do you know where to find download for RHEL 5.6 oracle 9i? I can't find anywhere.

    Thanks in advance.

The latest version of linux, where I was able to install 9i DB was 5.0. 5.2 starting, I had so many problems, I decided to give up.

So, I seriously doubt that 5.6 can run.

  • Real advantage of using ASMLIB for ASM

    Hi all

I have some confusion related to the configuration of the DSO.

configuration ASM 10 g on RHEL

As we know ASM can be configured using the ASM Library driver or RAW devices.

For both options, we use discs (unformatted DISKS) == > raw disks.

What is the real advantage that I get asm configuration using asmlib s/w?

I'm still struggling to know additional benefit when I'm chosen asmlib configure rather than raw.

Can only repeat what you said before: there is no "additional benefit" to the use of the ASMLib instead of udev. In the current version, the ASMLib is replaced by the ASM filter driver, which has more features.

  • Can someone decode this for me kernel panic error message please?

I had some problems recently with my 13 "MacBook Pro, Early 2011. I was able to resolve most of them between the forums and the Genius Bar, but there is still a persistent that even the Genius Bar can't seem to understand. Often, my computer freezes and restarts itself, and recently I had the window "your computer restarted due to a problem". I know kernel panic can be software or hardware related. I just wiped my hard drive (third-party SSD), reinstalled the OS X and restored from a Time Machine backup (but doesn't not restore any network or personal settings, as I was told by the Genius Bar help ensure no bugs/corruptions that affected my machine were installed). A complete hardware and software diagnostic was managed by Apple, where the only problem they found was that they could not read my hard drive and I have recommended replacing the hard drive slick, that I had let them. However, my problem: I have yet to have another random reboot with the new cable, but I am always starting gel, delay and slow speeds. I understood the message of the most recent kernel panic error, but I have little idea how do make sense. If someone could decode it for me and let me know what you think caused the kernel panic, I would be grateful!

Quick notes (it may or may not be useful): I also installed new third-party RAM me, updated 4-8 GB. I also have problems taking videos on Photo Booth. When I do, app causes my computer to lag, and the video does not correctly record (late of video development, multicolor screen during playback, not only audio video, etc.). Check the video card came back clean well.

I'm not sure regarding the panic itself 100%, but the symptoms you describe, I'll try to put first the original RAM if you, as a test. Also try a SMC reset: reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac - Apple Support.

  • Announcement: update the Configuration guide for RHEL v6/v7 with storage Dell PS Series available

Red Hat Enterprise Linux Configuration Guide for Dell storage bays Series PS

This configuration guide provides information on the integration of the RHEL 6 and 7 operating environments with the PS Series Dell storage arrays using iSCSI technology. The guide includes tips for working with volumes, using MPIO and some performance tips.

The PDF file is available here:

    Kind regards

    Don

    Hello

With Linux, as any OS, iSCSI is not different from the SAS/SATA or Fibre Channel.  No matter how you are connected to a "disk", it looks like a SCSI to the OS disk.

So yes, you use the mount points.   That's how Linux as most UNIX operating systems do it.  But use any method supported for other iSCSI disks.   In Windows, you can use drive letters or mount points.

    Kind regards

    Don

  • Suppot for RHEL 7?

I've got VMWare 6.0.3 Player installed on a Windows 7 64-bit system.  I tried to create a virtual machine using RHEL 7 64 - bit ISO, but it says it cannot detect the guest operating system, and when I try to specify, RHEL 7 does not appear in the list.  I selected RHEL 6 and tried to pass, hoping that he would get the info she needed the ISO, but when I tried to run I get the following error

This virtual machine is configured for 64-bit operating systems. However, the 64-bit mode is not possible.

This host supports Intel VT - x, but Intel VT - x is disabled.

Intel VT - x can be disabled if it has been disabled in the BIOS/firmware settings or host was not powered by bicycle since changing this setting.

    (1) check that the settings BIOS/firmware activate Intel VT - x and disable "trust execution."

2 turn on the host if either of these BIOS/firmware settings have been changed.

    (3) turn on the host if you have not done since the installation of VMware Player.

    (4) update of the BIOS/firmware from the host to the latest version.

For more information, see http://VMware.com/info?id=152 .

I do something wrong or is RHEL 7 simply not taken in charge the player yet?  I got RHEL 6 running for at least a couple of years now, so I thought that RHEL 7 would not be a problem.  I can do, or should I just wait for a future version?

7 RHEL is supported and that is not the issue... the issue is explained in the message you received and you have not done something to address the message.   You must enable VT - x in the BIOS you want to run a 64-bit guest OS!

    apt - get install linux-backports-modules-karmic-generic

    apt - get install build-essential

    apt - get remove vmware

  • Cloning of EBS 11.5.10.2 RHEL 4 (32-bit) for RHEL 5 (32-bit)

    Hello..

I can clone EBS 11.5.10.2 Linux (RHEL 4) for Linux (RHEL5). Source and target texts are 32-bit.

The database is 10.2.0.4 that running 64-bit Linux RHEL4. The target DB server is RHEL 5 64-bit.

If so, can someone tell me what are the possible things that should be checked and validated before cloning. Some documents of metalink referring a similar requirement would be great.

    Thank you
    Dev

  • for r12 kernel parameters

    Hello

We should do like that for values of tgese 4?

    kernel. SEMMSL 256
    kernel. SEMMNS TO 32000
    kernel.semopm 100
    kernel. SEMMNI 142

    OR like this

    kernel.SEM = 256 32000 100 142

    Concerning
Thanks,But i have seen some sites putting like this

    kernel.semmsl 256
    kernel.semmns 32000
    kernel.semopm 100
    kernel.semmni 142

What is the differnece between the above one and

    kernel.sem = 256 32000 100 142

As far as I know, second procedure is correct, I never used the premiera, according to me, it won't work.

are you sure that a first worked in your sites?

  • Could not able to create a fence for RHEL Cluster

    Dear all,

We have configured the UCS successfully Manager & got OS installed, LUN is mapped to servers.

We have given a static ip address for KVM access on inventory... > tab CIMC & tired to use UCS Manager IP for the configuration of fencing, but we do not succeed.

We could not even be able to ssh to the MMIC balde.  Inband IP by blade is essential for the configuration of the fence... We did not pool Inband & policy for blades.

Ask that you suggest best practices to configure fencing & clustering.

    Thanks in advnace.

    Kind regards

    Hey Gopi

In case of series b servers or UCSM c-series servers, better to use fence_cisco_ucs agent managed. See the following links
