Aspire V3 - 574G - control manual fan

It would be awesome if I could run my fan at full speed when I want to. Is it possible to do?

I don't know what is ACFanControl, but I don't think that's what this guy in this forum wearing.

He has no control of downloadable fan which will focus on the Acers. You have some alternatives (I mentioned you) you need to know for yourself or anything. You can also open your laptop and rewiring of the fan for a hot wire and work 100% all the time. RE everything seems promising and not terribly difficult. Here is a sample

    Good evening

I would like to know how can I manually control the speed of the fan?
I ask this question because my laptop rarely use the fan at a higher speed.

Today, I listened to more than the normal fan, I have check the temperatures and the CPU was Core1:95ºC Core2:99ºC
I'll clean the fan, but I want to know how can I manually control the fan (of course with the software: P)

    Kind regards.

    Hello

I guess that the Toshiba Power Saver has been installed on your laptop and you use this software from Toshiba.

If you are using Win XP and that the GST is installed, then you can check the configuration of basic settings and you might find the options to control CPU, CPU processing speed and method of cooling.

If you are using Vista, then you should check the Vista Power Options:

But in most cases, the cooling modules are controlled by fan that is stored in the BIOS table.

  • seeds for Y400 manual fan control

Is it possible to adjust the fan speed to 100% instead of using the auto setting that comes by default? Here is no option in the bios, I tried using SpeedFan and TPFanControl but no luck. Energy management app is possible to increase the speed of the fan using the option of removal of dust, and it decreases the time cpu a bit, so I'm sure is possible to control the fan via the software, the problem is how, ideas?

    Hi Zagen,

Thanks for posting. To be honest, the speed of the fan for the idea machine are pre defined in the BIOS setting and cannot be changed to it. The Ideapad may not be as versatile as the Thinkpad line so that's why you can't Speedfan or TPF to control the fan speed so that they work better the line Lenovo Thinkpad.

    I hope this helps.

  • How to control the fan on Portege Z830?

I have a Portege Z830 with BIOS version 1.7 and I am very upset by the noise of the fan.
I was wondering if it is possible to control the fan noise, so I started to experiment with a little utility called SpeedFan. I put in place so that the fan will not turn on until the temperature of the processor exceeds a defined number. But it does not; It seems that the BIOS is ignorant these parameters.

So my question is how can I set the fan to work my way?

There are not many options to control the fan.

The fan is controlled by the BIOS. The fan table that is stored in the BIOS contains information how a cooling module must operate.

As mentioned by Liam, you can change the settings of power plant of Win 7 more battery as a way to minimize the performance of fans
    This should help a little...

In other http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=65068 thread, I found a neat trick of the last user... He replaced Z830 fan with the fan of Z930 origin...
    It worked.

  • Satellite C660D - software to control the fan speed?

Just brought a C660D. Someone knows the software to control the fan speed?

My laptop CPU fan always turns to 74-80% of max speed. That's a lot of noise. I tried cpucool, but it did not work.

If does not work, the fan speed will remain at the temperature of 0 with cpu at 38 oC. But with any operation tiny, like the click of the mouse, it will change again to 74%, CPU temperature does not change.

    Hi Polaralbatross,

Have you ever tried the Eco mode that uses the cooling battery optimized method?

  • Satellite A200-1SC: which tool controls the fan?

    Hello

I'm looking for a program that I can control the fan speed. Because my fan turns on all 10 dry:(sans charge cpu!)

Or someone has a Bios more elders where the fan runs slower? My bios version is 1.70

    Hello

I use the FanSpeed on my laptop Toshiba-No.
But I don't think it will work on your A200.
The fan table that is stored in the BIOS controls modules cooling and, therefore, it s unlikely that this tool is running.

    Hello

No driver but there are few places that control laptop fan speed: BIOS, temperature sensor and software (a lot of portable HP have software called CoolSene)

  • Acer Aspire V3 - 574G memory larger than 8 GB update

I use my laptop for multitasking and sometimes heavy programming. Most of the time I use always completely to the top of my 8 GB of RAM. I tore down the laptop within the first hour of the purchase and I can only find 2 slots (1 free slot, 1 slot with an 8 GB stick).

I intend to pass this to 16 GB but I have my doubts since then:

    1. I tried to attach an extra 4 GB from another laptop (different freq, always DDR3). He started, CPU - Z can detect the extra RAM, but the system is not using it (always on the 8 GB).

-J' tried to use only the key of 4 GB and I think it is inconsistent, because the system does not start.

    2. I used pre-shaping memory Crucial level and there is a note that says "* should not exceed the memory manufacturer supported." All the options, it did not exceed 8GB.

Adding another 8 GB will work? If this is not the case, how can I bypass the 8 GB limit by using an easy way? (I don't mind modding BIOS).

  • Control the fan on Satellite Pro 2100

I used to see the analysis of the cpu temp with speedfan, I'd see when the temp (labeled local or remote or temp1, I don't remember.) Maybe 'local').
    reached 50 or 50 >, fan went.

But I can't find that now. The fan still works ' cos I can activate it with speedfan saying speedfan set to 50% or more, then it lights.
(less than 50% it is not lit, or at low speed - I think a constant - it is inaudible).

I would like to know why the fan is not when the temperature reaches 50 > more... When the setting is...
is there a program I can use to do?

    He finds...
you know toshiba replaces the thing of power management with its own thing in toshiba power saver. Toshiba power saver thing had a framework...

    "Cooling method.
    and
    "Intel Speedstep Technology.

Each is adjustable to the Performance, or optimized battery or something.

More course set the method of 'performance' of cooling... If you say 'battery optimized' then I think that the processor gets hot enough.

Whereas, for the technology intel speedstep... I do not remember that I put there, but I guess that optimized battery would make the CPU cooler.

However, I noticed when changing the settings of the more advanced page of toshiba power saver setting processor speed to the lowest, it was extremely slow but still an idle at high temperature, about 50 I think, not so much if any difference there.

I think it was less 0 charge, or charge of 0 to 10. I watch the load with notebook hardware control, speedfan and maybe other programs... However, only was necessary.

  • Possibility to control the fan and the temperature under Linux

    Hi all.

I suspect that my fan has stopped working. My satellite T110 tends to heat more quickly than in the past. After a brief search, I installed lm-sensors, and leave the settings by default yesterday reported temperature was 54 degrees. Today the same tool report processor temperature of 32 ° C when I went away and 50 ° C now, after 32 minutes. I was not be able to check the fan but as far as I can see the fan does not work. I would be really grateful if someone could tell me.

    1. If there is a reliable method to control es Linux pc (or even under windows, I have a system dual boot)
    2. What are the possible limits (non-hazardous)
    3. what could I do to fix my fan? It is easy to replace?
    4. a useful link to get information and support on the subject.

Thanks a lot to you all.

Is that what you found answers?
As you know Toshiba doesn't support Linux and doesn't offer solutions for this.
In my opinion, you should visit some Linux forum and try to find a solution with Linux experts.

  • Satellite A100: looking for a software to control the fan speed

    Hello

I am looking for software of control/read on my laptop fan speed, because energy does not seem to do anything. It seems not serious if I set the 'method of cooling' to 'Battery optimized' or 'Maximum Performance' or fixed CPU processing speed. I () has installed the Module & Power Saver town a couple of times without success.

SpeedFan & NHC will not work.

    Hello

Sorry but I do not share your view on Power saver utility. Do you really believe that Toshiba create tool like that for nothing? Just FYI: public service power saver is not available with Vista operating system and on this forum, you will find topics where people really miss this fun and useful utility.

In any case, it is well known that many tools that you can find on the internet do not have much influence on laptop cooling fan speed. To be honest, something like that can be very dangerous because the majority of users want to have silent notebooks and overheating problems are totally underestimated.

Can you please be a bit more specific about your problem? Your laptop is too strong for you or is the short battery life? Why you are not satisfied with this tool?

  • Satellite R830 random freeze with no way to take back control - full fan speed

    Hello
I've been Googling autour for a bit now, looking for a solution to what could be a hardware problem.

Randomly my Satellite R830 suddenly freezes and the speed of the fan running at full speed. It's actually a useful way to be immediately aware that my computer crashed. Everything is frozen, the only way out is to force via the power button.

I hit the same description on several Web site for different models of Toshiba, return of 2009. It seems that the problem is still there! I also read testimonials from this problem for Windows and Linux OS. I use a Debian Squeeze, which does not detect the newspaper when the accident occurred.

Sometimes it can be fine for a week, but recently, the computer freeze at least once a day, which is not acceptable for a new laptop.

I am really getting concerned if something will be done soon, or if I should ask for an Exchange and pray to be spared. I use my laptop on a daily basis for professional use, and so I would definitely prefer another solution. I have been waiting for 4 months now and just update my BIOS 3 days ago from Web site of Toshiba with no noticeable improvement. the computer crashed 4 times in the last 2 days.

If someone managed to overcome this problem, I would be very grateful for the tip!

    Hello

A question: do you have a fingerprint reader?

I got this Toshiba document that describes a problem similar to yours.
This problem can be caused by old fingerprint software you need to update this software where you have a fingerprint reader.

  • How can I change or control the fan speeds up my computer?

my processor and motherboard run hot. the fan for processor speed is 20%, the other two are 30%. How to increase the fan speed to lower the temperature?

I would not try to change the speed of the CPU fan. Clean the case out if its full of dust (if it's a desktop computer). If you can put more fans in the case, put more fans in it
