Assessment module FPGA and Xilinx tools?

I am currently using a trial version of 2013 LabVIEW FPGA module When I Isaiah to compile my FPGA target, I go as far as to select the compile server. Here, I am unable to use the local compilation server because "Xilinx 14.4 tools are not installed."

I had the impression that Xilinx tools came with the FPGA module. In the installation of FPGA module, I have yet to select install Xilinx... What happens here? Is happening because I'm only using a trial rather than a recorded version? Or have I missed something? Do I really need to get the Xilinx tools separately?

Thank you!

Sara

Hi Sara,.

It is indeed a separate installation program. Give this a go!

    Hello

I downloaded / installed the latest 2012 LV - everythin fine so far (his grand )

OR-Update Service proposed the installation of a service pack - download and installation worked too.

NOR-US also suggested to update the tools for FPGA from Xilinx module, but the download does not work. It looks that the download link is broken?

    Any suggestions?

Another interesting question: I live in Austria (German), but we use Windows & LV entirely in English in our society. NOR-United States however is highly localized - even the description of the object is in German. While it is OK for me, I still wonder if I could change it to English too.

  • Zip file and iso LabVIEW FPGA Xilinx tools 12.4 Module is broken

I downloaded the two zip file of LabVIEW FPGA Module Xilinx tools 12.4 and iso image file three times to make sure that both files are broken and can not be installed!

The size of the file is so large about 3g. It would be better to double-check before you download on the Web site.

    -Very well,.

The download is complete and the standard Windows Extraction tool worked, WinRAR worked and 7Zip worked (and no, I don't know why, I installed all). I did download a wireless network that does not have direct access to our internal servers, it should therefore be a test valid. If the link I provided above was not that you used (probably isn't, because it is not an ISO option), could you please provide me with a link to the page that you used so that I can test and repair? In the meantime, the link above should work for you.

I'm trying to download the Xilinx tools 10.1 to use with a chassis 9113 in LV2011. Based on this white paper, that the compiler below should work perfectly. The problem is that I can't seem to download all the way.

I can't seem to cross ~ 336MB using the standard or the downloader OR. Any ideas? Does anyone else have this problem?

Well well... on the good side of things, you don't want 10.1 anyway!

    Virtex-5 LX50 FPGA<- requires xilinx="">

10.1 is only for devices FPGA Virtex-II! (.. .after LabVIEW 2009 it was, just for all of you who read this know).

  • Choose ISE or Vivado Xilinx tools for a specific compilation of FPGA

    Hello

Is there a way to specify what version of Xilinx Compilation tools to use when compiling an FPGA VI? I want to try the version Vivado tools rather than the version of ISE to see if there is an improvement. I have listed some information on my setup below.

    It's my current setup:
    NI5772 / PXIe7966 digitizer and FPGA
    SMU-1082 chassis
    SMU-PCIe8388 / SMU-PCIe8389 controller
    LabVIEW 2014

In the past, I used the LabVIEW 2014 FPGA Xilinx tools 14.7 Module to compile my code. But I also want to try the version of Vivado, "LabVIEW FPGA Module Xilinx tools Vivado 2013.4 2014', to see if it gives better results."

Page-based "compatibility between tools Compilation of Xilinx and FPGA hardware OR" here:
    http://www.NI.com/product-documentation/53056/en/
Looks like the PXIe7966 FPGA must be compatible with the tools of Vivado 2013.4.

I tried to uninstall the version 14.7 ISE tools, and install the 2013.4 of tools Vivado (so Vivado 2013.4 tools are the only xilinx tools installed on the computer). But LabVIEW complains that the ISE 14.7 tools are not installed and does not compile the FPGA VI.

    Thank you!
    Michael

This FPGA is a Virtex-5 FPGA, so you're stuck with ISE. You need a card FPGA that either uses the architecting chip (I think it was only in cRIOs) or 7 Kintex to use the compiler to Vivado.

  • FPGA. What tool xilinx for Crio-9022 & 9030

Hello. I will be compiling the programs of fpga on the Crio-9022 and 9030. You need Xilinx different compilers to do the task?

With the help of LV ver14

    CRIO-9022 requires xilinxs 14.7 tool?

CRIO 9030 requires the xilinx tools vivado 2013.4?

    Thank you

Yes, it's because of the different FPGA series located on the backplane of the 9022 and 9030 cRIOs. You can see this KB and this KBto see below why.

  • FPGA and digital i/o Modules

    Hi all

We have NI 9421 digital input and digital output NI 9472 Modules. We can run these modules into a VI under the 9073 cRIO chassis. While we have added the FPGA target under the same chassis, we cannot use the modules. We also install the scan engine.

How can we use FPGAS and i/o Modules at the same time?

Once you add a target FPGA in CompactRIO chassis, when you deploy the code, the cRIO is configured for the FPGA mode, which requires a bitfile compiled to connect with the C Series modules. Remove the target FPGA or changing the mode of chassis in the project and by redeploying must reconfigure the cRIO for scan Mode, which allows you to use the IO module directly from the RT VI.

For more information, see this post.

  • What is the use of FPGAS and how it differs from the IO Modules

    Hi all

Maybe it's a silly question for most of you. But I have very less knowledge about the basic concepts of electronic (FPGA, real-time) to cRIOs. I know that FPGA

can be used to generate circuits within the chip that helps by some logical functions.

I've just started working in the cRIO. My question is that we have Modules e/s making it outputs all the application entry. So, what is the purpose of e/s in the FPGA.

Lets consider that we entered for an application of RTD. In this case the module NI 9217 itself exits 24 bits of data from the RTD measurement which may be the process of the LabVIEW VI. What will be this FPGA between the i/o Modules and the processor will help in? Also I want to know what type of communication is used to send data between the FPGA and host modules.

    Thanks in advance

    Ajay HI:

Sorry, you do not have an answer to your original question. However, you are right about the benefits of the FPGA. You said, if you build pre-processing in the FPGA, you can unload a lot of potentially CPU calculations out of the host processor. In addition, the program running on the FPGA is highly deterministic and can run the code very quickly. So if you build a kind of guard or evanescent dog part of your application, the FPGA is a good place to put it.

To answer your other questions, communication between the modules and the FPGA is generally above the SPI and the data can be transferred between the FPGA and host via DMA FIFO operating on the PCI bus or single point save access using read/write in the FPGA host Interface controls. You can also use interruptions in signal of disputes between the FPGA host.

I hope this helps, but let us know if you have any other questions.

  • difference between the real time module and module fpga

    Hi experts,

I was wondering if someone could tell me the difference between the FPGA and the module in real time (in short).

My understanding is that the FPGA module facilitates code LV that can then be designed for the specific advice of RIO, I have used this a bit in the past.

The real time module, I'm a little more unsure about, all I know is that it allows the creation of a 'real time' i.e. deterministic environment.

My request is this: I wish I had several control loops running on two tables of RIO, with the host PC mainly used for recording data and user interface. I see that I have no need of RT on the host (Win XP should be good).

Do I need the RT module?

You are right. In the scenario you describe, you won't need to LabVIEW RT. LabVIEW RT is used to create a deterministic execution on specific targets for intel such as the PXI-8106 and PXI-8108. You can still use strings and floating point on RT.

  • Downgrade FPGA Xilinx tools

    Hello

Just compared to a question that I posted a few days ago - did someone knows if there is a way to downgrade to the default version of LabVIEW 2013 Xilinx to 14.4 to 13.4 tools?

    Thank you

LabVIEW 2013 uses the Xilinx 14.4. No way around it.

  • LabVIEW FPGA and real-time communication module

    Hi all

I created a small program in labview FPGA which gets continually distance from the HC - SR04 ultrasonic sensor. The rest of the robot program is written in the time module real Labview. Is it possible that the distance calculated by FPGA module to read in time real module.

I used the FPGA just because there micro-deuxieme counter, which helps me get the distance from the ultrasonic sensor.

    Thanks in advance.

There are many ways this can be done, according to your needs.

See the help article transfer of data between the FPGA and host (Module FPGA) for a breakdown of each method.

  • silent uninstall ODAC 12 c module 4 and Oracle development tools

    Hi all

I need to uninstall a previously installed ODAC 12 c module 4 and Oracle Developer Tools silently. Oui\bin\setup.exe will be fine uninstall, but I want to uninstall it from script.

There is no button to save a responsefile at the end of the dialog box.

    oui\bin\setup.exe-Enregistrer FichierDestination - odacr4 - deinst.rsp

Does not complain, but does not record a response file.

Installation notes describe uninstall them, but not without supervision/silencer.

    Any advice?

    Best regards

    Niels Jespersen

Here's what I used to silently uninstall ODT with ODAC. It does not require a response file, but requires that you specify the Oracle home

    "{' C:\oracle\product\12.1.0\client_1\oui\bin\setup.exe-silent - waitforcompletion - nowait - uninstall" DEINSTALL_LIST = {"oracle.odac.client","12.1.0.2.0"} "' REMOVE_HOMES={"C:\oracle\product\12.1.0\client_1 "}"

    A log file is generated in C:\Program Files (x 86) \Oracle\Inventory\logs

  • Update "Compilation of Xilinx tools are not installed" thread for 2015

I have Labview 2015, I need compile a vi for a Compact 9081 RIO fpga. I get the error "the Compilation of Xilinx tools are not installed. Install them using the support or download from ni.com installation. »

OK, pretty simple. What download where? Is there a link?

These Xilinx tools do not resolve the problem, I discovered only after you download all 9 gigabytes:

    http://www.NI.com/download/LabVIEW-FPGA-Module-2014/4845/en/

    http://www.NI.com/download/LabVIEW-FPGA-Module-2015/5492/en/

Bonus question: where are the instructions that specify which download links to click on what material?

This KB should list on what compilation of tools you need for your specific target.

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/7CF3DD1ABBE6AE5886257EFB0006E303

It can be a little confusing at first, but you need the Xilinx 14.7 for 2015 LabVIEW tools, that you can download from the following link. It seems that you have found the correct version of Xilinx, but it was for 2015 of LabVIEW which is what I assume is the problem.

  • Where to download Xilinx tools

Anyone know where I can download the image of Xilinx tools? OR used to have a link to where you can download an .iso of the Xilinx tools image, but now, this link seems to be invalid.

    Hi cikei,

Downloads for the Xilinx tools are in the Services Resource Center. As you can see, there are versions 10.5 and 11.5. What version you use will depend on your device and is detailed in this Knowledge Base article.

    I hope that helps!
