  When I work on leaves in Cp7, I have a naming convention that I use compared to the slide that I'm working on. For some reason any it don't let me use the same name, even if the object that previously had the name has been deleted. So I guess there must be a way to erase these names so that they can be used on different objects.

  Sorry, it's one of the annoying things in Captivate.  No way to reuse a label that has already been used. But labels are case sensitive: have you tried to take advantage of a single character?

• Instance / alias of name for objects in Captivate 3?

  It is possible to assign instance names (or alias) to objects in Captivate (eg. a text box)? I want to be able to make a button object check another object (e.g. a text entry area) before deciding what to do on the 'success' (or failure). I don't see how to do it without (at least) with the instance names for objects (and then trying to write some actionscript to java, etc.) to connect.

  I'm new to Captivate so I can miss the obvious here...

• Association of objects - is it possible in Captivate 4?

  In my quest continues to wish for a Lectora feature, I wonder if the grouping of objects is possible in Captivate 4. I don't see the option, but perhaps that it is done in a different way.

  It is an extremely useful feature that have most of the other applications (i.e. other e-Learning tools, graphics applications, etc.). A practical use would be bringing together a box of note commonly used with an icon so that it can be copied as a single object to slides.

  The only group that is possible is temporary. You hold down the CTRL key when you click on objects that are. They remain selected until the focus is removed from the selection. Perhaps, you change another slide or click another object on the slide.

  There is no permanent grouping of objects.

• Several Audio objects in Captivate 5...

  Hello

  I want to create a series of Captivate 5 slides that contain many audio objects, these objects will play the sound associated with a point defined by mouse click, rollover or a similar event.  The blade should stay persistent until the user clicks a button that them will advance to the next slide in which a similar format will be presented.

  The creation of the progress button is a simple case, but the creation of audio objects that will play due to various user events doesn't seem so simple, and maybe it's because I'm still finding my hat of timelines of Captivate.

  I tried to create slidelets I add audio to and then tried to add the property on working capital to run the advanced measures.  I then created an expression in which I put a script to extract the current image and add value to it so that it would allow the slide to the natural pause point that has been created with the introduction of buttons.  However this led to undesirable effect of simply enable all the sound elements at the same time.  When I spread the slidelets in the time line after the break of the button, only the slidelet was available, as the other were too quirky in the timeline panel and were not visible at the time of the break.

  I was just wondering if I'm on the right track here, or if there is a simple way to do what I want to do, which is to allow students to text and rollover/click and hear audio text, or to have a button that will do it.  It might also allow students to see an issue that when you click on the answer will be spoken.

  No worries!  Once I was very distressed about something and got a fix here.  The very simple solution - visibility for my items.

  I wasn't sure how to create audio on a button, because I have not used this technique before, but I did a little searching around and found this excellent How - to's:

  It's for Captivate 2, but I tried on Captivate 4 and it still worked.  I'm sure that it will still work with Cap5, too.  Good luck!

In a vCO script, is there a way to get objects of schema associated with each point objects catalog in our service? If so, can you provide the code to show how it's done?   OK, I finally found the answer courtesy of Automation vRA (vCAC) using vRO - Split Brain :

  «Each element of the catalog has an attribute of providerBinding.» This package contains the bindingId value. This link ID is the ID of the master plan (virtualMachineTemplateID) of the part of IaaS. That's how vRA figures on what course of action to deploy when you request a catalogue point. »

  So, given an vCACCAFECatalogItem object, I can get the ID of associated like this blueprint:

  I am new to develop in JDeveloper and I am currently following a tutorial with the Oracle members database use for their tutorial. Now I'm following this tutorial (Oracle JDeveloper 11 g Release 2 tutorials - rich in development of Web Applications with Oracle ADF)

  My problem is that when I try to create entity objects and Associations based on the tutorial, my AppModule does not create the association departments-> employees as you can see on the subject of 20º to the link (the Appmodule running the EmpDeptFkLink1view).

  I tried many things to fix it and I try it on my localhost database (not an oracle database).

  Given that this association is not created, the AppModuleDataControl isn't the control needed to create the jsf page in the next step.

  If you have all the help you can give me, please reply to this message.

  Frederico,

  Associations are created automatically when the database table has a foreign key.  Check your local host database and make sure that there are foreign keys.

  If this isn't the case, you can manually create links and associations.

  I had a long post somewhere on here and just want to start a specific post on associative arrays just.

  First of all, I have a table which I do not know if it is an array, an associative array or an object, or both.

  That is to say: I read that below would be an object but works like a table also.

  The problem is when I use this table as references to instantiate classes in a runtime shared library.

  I seem to be able to create appropriate tables and objects, BUT I certainly can't use/acess them correctly. I have a massive confusion between movieclips and objects.

• Import slides/objects in Captivate 5

  I just installed Captivate 5 on my Mac and can not for the life of find me a way to import slides/objects as I could in Captivate 4. I create tutorials for work and they are similar, except the bottom. I know its weird but we had sister 3 companies and the layout of the tools are the same, just the brand is different. So I used to just import the objects of a tutorial of 'master' in the other.

  Did I miss something or was this deleted option in Captivate 5?

  To change the property for multiple instances of an object, we use Object Styles. For Ex: To change boxes highlight in all the slides, you can use the object styles, if you change a property in the Style of the object manager, it will change in all cases. Please let me know if it works for you.

• Use variables to display object in Captivate 4

  I would like to be able to display a check mark next to title on the table of contents page once the user displays the last page in the section.  Is it possible that I can do this, and where can I find the code?

  You can use variables to show/hide elements on a page.

  First add custom variables to represent the State of completion of each section. Something like sectionOneCompleted = 0, sectionTwoCompleted = 0, etc..

  Then add assignments for each of your variables at the end of each section. For example, you could define "on slide enter ' use 'assign' and give variable sectionOneCompleted set to 1.

  Then in your table of contents you can show/hide the elements on the page depending on the value of your new user-defined variables.

  1. go in the slide properties

  2. under ' Navigation: on the slide, type ' select 'execute the Advanced Action '.

  3. click on the... button next to 'the Action '.

  4. under change/create an Action, select 'create '.

  5. the action of giving a name such as ShowHideThingie

  6. in the area of large text, double-click the text of 'Statement add' light gray.  Gray 'add a statement' become a red "declaration". Double-click it again.

  7. Select 'condition' in the menu drop-down

  8. click 'Select a variable' and choose your variable defined by the user (in this case, "sectionOneCompleted")

  9. choose "is equal to" and then enter a value of 1

  10. then, you must specify what to do if the value is 1.  Under 'start' double-click 'Add education '. Select 'action Standard' in the menu dropdown.

  11. Select 'View', then select the name of the object that you want to display (each item placed on the blade has a unique ID)

  12. now, we need to specify what happens if the value is NOT 1.  Under 'otherwise... start', double click 'Add education '. Select 'action Standard' in the menu dropdown.

  13. Select 'Hide', and then select the name of the object that you are showing to step 12.

  14. click "Save" and close the window of the Actions dialogue box.

  This should be it!

  Note: I have not tested these steps carefully (written very quickly), but I hope you get the idea and can get out of here.

• Problems associative Array (Object)

  Here's the function that I face
  I read in a delimited string and using indexed arrays to break them up and assign keys and values to an associative array in a loop.
  I use variables in the loop and the load as expected in the loop table
  but outside the loop, the only key is the name of the variable and the value is not set
  This is the case by using dot or rating table, as well as literal strings for keys

  Hi, I was wondering if there was a way in flash to group a set of objects, for example a load of buttons, so that you can apply a single AS work to control them, rather than having to create a separate for each button function.

  Create a table and put the names of occurrence of each of the buttons in this table. Loop in the table and assign a function to each event for the items in this table. Write the real function.

• Is there a way to delete a button object in Captivate to a single slide, if it is set to display for the rest of the project?

  I created my own buttons next and previous, and I showing to the rest of the project. I want to remove the button from my last slide in my project because there is no next slide.

  You can't "delete" it, but you can hide it and / or disable (for a button)

  using the event to enter the slide.

• Copy of PowerPoint to Captivate objects

  I need to convert a PowerPoint to Captivate, but not in the usual way. PowerPoint objects must be Captivate objects so that they must be round trip and PP whenever a change needs to be done. When I copy and paste objects from PowerPoint in Captivate, they become raster. Now that Captivate 9 supports the SVG, anyone has a suggestion how to get vector objects of PowerPoint in Captivate as SVG vector objects?

  There is no way to convert PowerPoint objects in Captivate objects.

  It's probably NOT what you want to hear but...

  If you want to change these objects in Captivate, create them early as objects of Captivate and forget using PowerPoint.
