ASUS motherboard fails to boot into windows

I have an ASUS Z97 - A motherboard that I am trying to load a Windows XP PRO OS I have used successfully on several other computers. The software seems to load, but stop at "Windows Setup" and "the Setup is starting Windows" and freezes there.

ASUS claims that it is a Microsoft problem and that I should contact them. I'm still waiting for a response.

Can someone help me?

What you can try (see the user's guide) is to disable UEFI and use legacy / IDE mode.

    anesvet,
I'm going to sound like I'm repeating myself tonight... (see previous 4 posts...)  but try this:

When you start start pressing F8 until you get the Windows startup options.  Then try "Last known good configuration" see if that helps.  If this does not work, try to F * then try to go to Safe Mode.  If those who do not help, I would start with your XP CD to recovery mode and run "chkdsk/r" then "sfc/scannow".  QQ learn manage!

You don't give any info on what was the original problem with the computer.

You have set the Bios Setup to boot from the CD/DVD drive?

At startup, it will say press F2 or delete key to go into Bios/Setup, or maybe F12 to go to the Start Menu.

And have you tried also to tap F8 at startup and choose Safe Mode from the list of Boot Options?

Use up arrow key to do this, press on enter.

Browse your Hard Drive manufacturer's website, download software from here and test your hard drive for errors.

    Hi LoganCallWeb,

You can try to reinstall the Adobe application manager. Go to the HD > library > application support > adobe > caps and rename the folder of caps. After you rename this folder, go to the USER library > application support > adobe > OOBE and rename the OOBE folder as well and install Adobe application manager at the bottom of the link. It should work fine.

  • From vista with a new motherboard, unable to boot into normal mode.

Original title: from vista with a new motherboard

My mother has crashed and I replaced it with a new one. New motherboards drivers are on a cd which runs under a windows complete envirinment. Unfortunately I can't get windows to run in safe mode, which will not install the drivers again.  What are my options? the cheapest first preference.

    Carl

    Hello

Try uninstalling the drivers for all devices in the Device Manager (be sure that you select delete the driver for this deviceoption during the uninstall) and Control Panel.

Then try to restart your computer and check to see if you can boot into normal mode.

Steps to uninstall from Device Manager:

    a. After you open Device Manager, look for the device.
    b. right-click on it and choose Uninstall.

  • Urgent need help: I run windows 10 on iMac. I can't boot into Windows 10 after update to El Capitan 10.11.5. Help, please!

    An urgent need to help!

I've been running Windows 10 on my iMac via Boot Camp. I just upgraded to El Capitan 10.11 to 10.11.5. I don't know if it was because of this upgrade that made me not be able to return to Windows. In the windows startup disk, my windows HD and OS X HD icons are all grayed out. So, I can't select which one to be my default startup Mode of the disc. Help, please!

This process is repeated just. "Screen can not use the keyboard in the 'boot normally,' safe mode '. Or when I try to boot from the cd. No changes are made to the material recently. Just posted that I can boot Windows now. Don't know how! Or why!

  • I can't boot into windows or recovery.

OK, so that is the problem.  I'm in recovery mode by pressing f11 and me to the point where he says he was doing market back stuff. I've been through reformatting, but while he was 97% ready I got this blue screen "page_fault_in_nonpaged_area" error and windows have closed. as I tried with recovery again it fails again with a uscreen "bad_pool_caller". Now I never did recovery disks for my laptop because I've always used the recovery partition so I have the vista cd or anything like that.  However, I would like to make a cd of xp home edition.  So I started from that and thought I could just install the xp home edition.  Unforunetly after it loads up to install it says it can't find my hard drive and shows no partitions.  I am at a loss on what to do.  I searched everywhere for a solution to this, but I don't know what to do.  Everyone responds just telling me to reformat or enter in safe mode when I can not because they do not completely load upward and I get this error and my computer crashes.  If someone could help me I would be very grateful.

For questions about the recovery process, contact the manufacturer of your computer.

This isn't their recovery process, Microsoft.

  • I can't boot into windows 7 or 10 on my Dell XPS 630i

Whenever I try to start it with windows 7 or 10 via a usb cable or cd/dvd, I get the same error code.

    0xC0000225

and he said something abou the firmware (BIOS) is not ACPI compatible, I tried to change the ACPI settings in BIOS but got nowhere.

    Help, please!

I would like to get into the bios and use default optimization can be the F9 or F5 key then save and exit.

Kind of difficult to update the firmware of a hard drive without installation active

But if you have an appointment for the hard drive Internet site manufacturing and research with the model #.

Most will have a utility to update the firmware of the hard drive for you.

  • System does not boot into Windows when a USB is installed

It's strange.  I just installed Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade (64-bit) of a previous Vista machine.  Has made the choice of 'Upgrade '.  Now that it is finally installed and get some of the bugs resolved, a question I still have is when a (key, post HD) USB device is installed in the machine and I run a reboot or extinguished/turned on, the system starts to boot, runs through the BIOS section, but just before trying to start Windows I get a fast blinking cursor in the upper left of my screen.  If I remove all the devices usb between PC and manually must shut down and restart it restarts in Windows very well.  What is the problem?

Desktop HP M9350F model; 64-bit; BIOS Rev 5,29 (28/04/09); BIOS Boot Priority: floppy, CD, HD, network (note: there is no other choice shown/available USB?)

Maybe someone else has had this problem and an easy fix is avaiable.  Thank you!

    CD,

Well believe it or not, I realized the problem.  Not the BIOS.

One program, I have installed is SecureDoc WinMagic.  It's encryption software, although my drive has (yet) been encrypted.  In fact I had contacted the Lim before this same thread started to think it might be because of that, but he told me it was probably my BIOS and nothing to do with their SW.

However, last night I decided to remove their SW before my "repair" operation was scheduled.  How to have this removed SW, it's just our curiosity, I decided to start once more with a USB device installed to see if the hang up has continued.   By my surprise, the start went as usual by means of windows and office.  DAMN!  all this time lost, mine and yours!

I contacted the company SW this morning and they found a way to modify their SW and get the boot to work (always with the unencrypted disc).

I wanted you and someone on this thread to know the outcome, so if this happens in the future with another user, this can help to avoid long-term on unnecessary troubleshooting.

Thank you once again for all the time you have helped me with this issue!

It looks like your user settings might cause problems for some reason any. Try to rename your file from c:\users\aagashe\.jrmc to old.jrmc (or something else if you want), then start JRMC and see if it works better.

  • Unable to boot into Windows PE with MDT and SCCM

Hi, I am installing a vmware System 7 win with sccm or mdt.

So I have an iso boot for both and I injected the NIC drivers in the vmware Tools folder, but I can't get network card to work.

ESX server is a former IBM 346 server. I think it's a broadcom on the x 346 server network adapter. Broadcom Corporation eServer xSeres server mainboard model.

On the server ESXi itself, it says 82566DC-2 Gigabit Network Connection.

Any ideas what I should use drivers?

    I added vmxnet3ndis6.inf 1.1.6.0 / 1.0.0 "

    vmxnet. INF 2.0.3.6

On a manual pc which was built to the network adapter is Intel Pro/1000 MT Network.

I'd appreciate any help, been stuck on this during some time now.

    Welcome to the forums.

I would use the e1000 drivers. This kind of question is not really related to VMware. There are probably better places to ask. I also extend your acronyms. Mountain daylight time is not particularly appropriate.
