ASUS Q550LF constant internet disconnection

Hello, I have a problem with internet connection with my laptop model Asus Q550LF. Even if the internet connection the other computers in my house all work fine, my Asus constantly connection loses.  No matter even if I'm checking a simple page as my email.  Bottom-right icon which displays the internet connection bar is usually never at its highest and then the "X" will appear and say "no internet access. It's really frustrating.  I have tried different browsers, resetting the connection, but it does not have a difference because the problem is still ongoing.  I don't understand the cause because as I said the work of other computers very well.  And on top of that, this computer is the most recent.

Hi Tsubasa,

Thanks for the reply. I might help you.

  • Internet "disconnected" on a regular basis

I bought my Toshiba Equium A300D Tuesday, which came with Vista Home Premium and since then I had problems with the internet "disconnect" on a regular basis - I say "disconnected" because in reality there is nothing wrong with my connection to all the.

I have a local network set in place with the A300D, an address book remove but not Toshiba, one and an old desk. The Office has a wired connection to my router and two laptops have wireless connections, but neither the second laptop or fixed, are having problems with the connection, only the A300D.

My ISP reports no problem, and my router has been for more than a week now without requiring a reboot. On the A300D but I apparently lose connection on a regular basis, with my browser (which happens with Firefox, Opera and Internet Explorer) don't find no connection and the pages won't load do not.

Finally, if I try and refresh the pages, browsers just crash (and in the case of Firefox, it is often impossible to end the process with Task Manager, which means I'm unable to re - open). The Google Desktop Sidebar is also losing the connection too at the same time, as a number of other applications using internet connections, * but * Vista, when I try to 'diagnose and fix' the problem is said it isn't a problem, and a few other apps, my backup Carbonite and Skype service are the two remaining connected (and experience with my old laptop if there is internet connectivity problems Skype is usually the first thing to disconnect).

At first, I thought it was a problem with Firefox (my main browser), but as is the case with others too, it doesn't seem to be a simple matter of Firefox. Malware scan (Windows Defender) and antivirus (Eset NOD32) come to clear back, and it makes no difference if my firewall (ZoneAlarm) is in place or not, and I tried it with just the WIndows firewall as well.

Everything is going well for a while, but then suddenly I apparently lose the connection and once again, the only way to get it back is to restart, and once again things will be fine for a while until the browsers lose the connection (if as I said, Skype and Carbonite are still connected). At present on average I'll have to reboot every half hour or so, which is very frustrating and I'm getting little done for this reason.

I tried to look on the Vista from MS community support forum and a number of people seem to have problems with Vista - I was unable to post my problem here but in regarding the site for some reason MS refuses to accept my Windows Live IDs, and a google also found similar problems that appear to be related with Vista and SP1.

A number of discussions mentioned this could be linked with the TCP/IPv6 protocol, and that to disable TCP/IPv6 as a temporary workaround might work, and when I checked my connectivity TCP/IPv6 connection parameters has been showing as "limited." Disable TCP/IPv6 has however made no difference - I still have to restart every half an hour or two to get things running.

I am at the end of my home here - at - it ideas?

    Try the following:

    (1) update the driver Wireless LAN from Toshiba Europe site

    (2) update the BIOS from the Web of Toshiba Europe site

    (3) update the Firmware on your Wifi router. Some routers have some compatibility problems with some wifi chipsets.

    (4) go to the Device Manager-> Wifi-> properties and disable power management, increase the output power, disable 802. 11A and others that you do not use.

  • Equium A200-1V0 - Internet disconnects when I play a game

I have an Equium A200-1V0, I'm guessin' I don't have to be precise with the form on this page to Toshiba, but its dual core 1.46 GHz, HDD 120 GB, 2 GB RAM and I can't seem to find the graphics of wht there (not very good for games).

When I surfed net everythings good, usually, when I'm streaming shows and movies everythings good but when I play Runes of Magic of MMORPG after 20 minutes or until the internet disconnects. When you check wireless no possible networks appear, but the computer in the other room is still plugged on the wireless. If I turn off and turn on the connection, he begins to work for another 20 minutes (in game time), or fine for web browsing etc. I don't know what the problem is, but I was wonderinf what a graphics card fault or the network card expires? Is the game download too much data?

How can I solve this problem, I've been looking at a portable game because I don't feel it's a fault of modem wireless but rather something wrong with the laptop.

    Help, please!

    Hi Huel,

I can t say much about it because I've never heard of this game and I think that you should contact the manufacture of the game. Maybe it s a known issue and it s caused by the game.

It will connect for a good hour, auto disconnect reconnect and has no internet access to about 15 minutes then has access to the internet

    Hi taylor1210,

Welcome to the Microsoft community. According to the description of the problem your connection Internet disconnects randomly. Provide the following information:

    ·         You get the error message?

    ·         You use a third-party security software?

I'll help you with this problem. I suggest you follow these methods.

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software .

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2:

I suggest you to reset the TCP\IP stack and see that if this is useful, the following steps will help you reset the TCP\IP stack.
    1. to open a command prompt, click Start , and then click run. Copy and paste (or type) that follows the command in the Open box, and then press ENTER:
    cmd
    2. at the command prompt, copy and paste (or type) the following command and then press ENTER:
    netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
Note If you do not specify a path of the directory for the log file, use the following command:
    netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt
    3. restart the computer.

  • Re: Satellite A200-12 s - HTTP Internet disconnects

I'm looking for some help solve my dilemma:

I have a Satellite A200-12 s on Windows Vista SP2, I am faced with a recurring problem. When I surf the net, I was suddenly disconnected:
I encountered this problem, with different browser; Firefox, ie, opera and with wireless Internet (wifi), but also with lan (cable)

When this issue comes up, I can 'ping' and the connectivy doctor; say that there is no problem of local area network. My newsgroup software can connect to internet servers. It seems that only the http communications are here. The only solution is to restart my machine.

This problem appeared for a long time, perhaps since the update to vista sp1.

    Hi saurel,.

Hmm... That s strange. I can imagine that a certain program is blocking the HTTP connection or you have a virus/spyware on your laptop.

You should run a virus scan. Maybe he'll find something. Good anti-virus program is AntiVir for example and it s freeware.

If you have a firewall installed, disable them and test it again.

  • Internet disconnects after 5 minutes

Hi I was using my PC for a long time. I went for the weekend, and when I came back, I got a problem.  Every 5 minutes or so internet stops working.  There is no notification that a cable has been disconnected.  When I type something in the address bar it keeps loading but the page never comes to the top.  It is not my hardware or ISP because I started another operating system (fedora) and it worked fine. A temporary solution that I use is to disconnect and reconnect the eithernet cable.  But then the problem occurs again in 5 minutes.

    Things I've tried:
    1. disable internet card
    2. set a static ip address
    3. release ip/renew ip
    4 uninstall internet card
    5. restart the router

    Hi AppleWilliam,

Thanks for posting. The first thing we must do is to determine where the issue is in fact. This could be a problem with a piece of hardware, Internet Explorer, Windows or your ISP.

First when the problem occurs again do the following.

    Type the following command:

IPCONFIG/ALL [Note that there is no space between the oblique and ALL bar].

Right-click in the command window and choose select all, and then press enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

In the same command prompt window, identify the DNS and gateway (it will look something like ... default gateway: 192.168.1.1 and DNS servers...: 192.168.100.54 )

Now in black comand prompt, type the following command:

PING 192.168.1.1 (by replacing your IP of the gateway here) [Note that there is no space between the oblique and ALL bar]
Let us know if you get the response or timeouts.

Also again once in the same window type the following command

PING 192.168.100.54 (by replacing your DNS IP here) [Note that there is no space between the oblique and ALL bar]
Let us know if you get the response or timeouts.

If the answer then you can have a problem with your web browser. If you are using and other Web browsers with test and see if you have the same result.

If you do not get a response, test with another computer if possible to see if the problem persists there. If the problem does not occur on the other PC, then check your network cable connected to the PC and see if there is a link light. If there is a clear link then try to replace the cable and see if the problem persists.  If the problem persists after replacing the cable with a known good work. If the problem persists with a good cable to work known so try another port on the router or switch.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if any of these steps did or did not solve your problem.

Hmm, quite a lot of people have problems with this (drivers) Broadcom wireless card. This card works up to 72Mbps anyway so I always recommend to replace it with a better card. Tell us what model it is exactly. I Dv6-2060ea and the original card is an Intel Wifi Link 5100AGN (dual channel up to 300Mbps). I always keep the card in replacement if necessary...

Alternatively, you can replace it with another Broadcom card: Broadcom 802.11a/b/g/n 2 4322 x 2.
