Attachments to email to open in PDF

I enclose a document microsoft word on an email.  When you open the attachment, it seems to open in Adobe and therefore never opens properly - I have to save the attachment and 'open with '.

Can I make the file open in its own format, rather than in Adobe?

Hello, Dave

Please use the Forum for answers!

If you want to make sure it opens correctly, right click on the file, open with, choose default, program select Word and check the always use the selected program to open this type of option at the bottom of the file, then press OK.

For a complete list, see Start, default programs, associate a type of file or Protocol to a specific program, select the file type and then click the change program and set it as you wish.

Let us know if that helps.

    Hi chrystam,

If you already have the Acrobat Reader software for the iOS app installed on your iPhone 6, the Reader app icon should appear as an option.

Please take a look at the section "Open of Mail" from the following FAQ document.

How to open PDF documents in Adobe Acrobat Reader for iOS (iPhone version)

But it doesn't sound like you have missed steps.

A possible cause of the problem:

    • Acrobat Reader for iOS has not been installed before you tried the iOS ' open in ' or ' copy to ' feature in Apple Mail.
    • The file format of the attachment is not actually PDF or other formats (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, RTF, JPEG, PNG, etc.) that supports the Acrobat Reader for iOS.
    • In the Kangaroo displaying options, scroll to the right to see if the Acrobat Reader icon is there.
    • Your iPhone can be configured for the use of the company.  It does not have Acrobat Reader to open PDF attachments.

Could you please try different PDF documents to see if this is a problem specific to certain files?

Please let us know what you find.

    Thank you.

Maybe you could try the Google support forum.  I found this:

"A lot of weird problems with Gmail web interface is due to a corrupt copy of the code loaded into your web browser and can be solved by"clearing cache and cookies".  Have you tried yet? »

"In Internet Explorer, you must manually add google.com to the compatibility view settings. If you do not have the menu bar, right-click on top of bar area and select this option to display the menu bar. Then, go to tools > compatibility view settings. Add google.com to the list and make sure that "include lists updates Web sites" is checked. Restart the browser and the "print" key should work now.

Google uses Google Docs when you click on 'see' an attachment rather than download it. For some reason when you click on the print icon on the display, IE chooses to crash without error. Once the domain is added to the compatibility view, the "print" key brings the printer friendly version of the document and displays the printer dialog box. »

  • Smartphones blackBerry "BOLD": cannot open attachments to emails or send emails

I have the "BOLD" and it works very well for a month. Then, I got my Peral (an old that I dropped in the snow) to finally turn it back on and used the Fund Manager to transfer my contacts and settings of my "BOLD". Once I did that I can no longer use my "BOLD" to send emails or open attachments to emails. I get e-mails very well however. When I try to open the attachments I get the message "cannot perform more demand. Service book information not found ".

First of all, what is the book of service? because I saw another post saying try to reset but I don't know how I could go about this.

Secondly, any ideas on what I could do to make it work again? Is there a system restore? Or restore default settings to get rid of the changes I made when you use Desktop Manager to update my settings?

    Thanks for any help!

    Hello

On the Blackberry will first of all for advanced options options-host routing tables-press menu key and select Register now.

You will receive an activation message. You are now properly registered with the network.

The next thing is to send service directories. A service book contains information that configures the interaction between smartphone BlackBerry with the BlackBerry Infrastructure. It also allows specific services for your BlackBerry device.

In the Blackberry, use the email Setup icon and log in with your username and password and send service directories.

The attached link has pictures to show you how. You will receive an activation e-mail for each account that you have configured on your device.

You should now be able to send and receive emails and open attachments. Test it to make sure it works.

If you find that you can send and receive but not to open attachments, the second link will show you how to reset

    your Blackberry attachment service.

  • Open a pdf document that has attachments inside on a mobile

I have a pdf file with attachments on the inside, I'm opening on a mobile device.

It opens correctly on my desktop, but mobile, attachments do not show.

    No idea why?

    Hi Willy,.

We have received your PDF document by e-mail.  Thank you!

We have reviewed your PDF document and discovered that two HTML files are fixed as annotations of the type "FileAttachment '.

Here are two ways to attach files to a PDF with Acrobat Pro (for example).

Method A: attach files and embedded files

    1. Open a PDF document.
    2. Open attachments navigation pane.
    3. Click the Options button.
    4. Select Add an attachment on the menu that appears.

B method: attach files in the form of annotations

    1. Open a PDF document.
    2. Click the attachment in the toolbar.

Acrobat Reader (for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone) mobile application support embedded attached files (added using the method) but doesn't support file attachment annotations (added using method B).  We apologize for the inconvenience.

If you have the desktop version of Acrobat Pro, you can perform the following steps to re - join the files using A method to avoid the problem of compatibility with mobile applications of Acrobat Reader.

    1. Open your PDF document with attachments in Acrobat Pro.
    2. Open attachments navigation pane.
    3. Select a file displayed in the attachments navigation pane.
    4. Click the Options button.
    5. Select Save the attachment to save the file on your desktop.
    6. Click the Options button.
    7. Select delete attachment.
    8. Click the Yes button to confirm the deletion.
    9. Click the Options button.
    10. Select Add an attachment to re - attach the saved to a PDF file.  (Alternatively, you can drag and drop a file on the navigation of attachment pane.)
    11. Repeat steps 3 through 10 for each file.
    12. Save the PDF document.

In this way, the portable versions of Acrobat Reader can open attachments.

If you do not have the desktop version of Acrobat Pro, you can try the free trial version of 30 days to see if it meets your needs.

Download Adobe Acrobat free trial | Acrobat Pro DC

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Thank you.
