• Apex 4.0 has even 100 column limit on the attributes of interactive report

  We are on Apex 3.2 and one of our applications widely used interactive reports, most having more than 100 columns. The report attributes tab shows only the 100 first columns, which can be moved upwards or downwards to order. Additional columns are accessible by selecting the 100 column and use the > button to get the rest. However, these columns cannot be moved to another location.
  
  This isn't a major problem when first create reports as SQL put them in the right order, but all fields may need some sort of setting in shape.
  
  The problem comes when a request arrives to add an additional column to the report. No matter where I put it in the SQL, the field always ends by at the bottom of the list of attributes. If this field is required to be in the 32 column, I can't move it. I can get around this by running the interactive report, move the column to the correct position and re-record the master report.
  However, the list drop-down "Filter" will always have the new column, at the bottom, which I suppose is using the report attributes list, that I can't change.
  
  Anyway, my question is to those on Apex 4.0 - this limitation of 100 columns has been increased or is it still in place.
  If someone had the same problem and found a better solution.

  Hi Daron and blabla,

  Yes, it seems that this limitation is still in place and I will file a bug, if there isn't one already. But I think in APEX 4.0 is less a problem, because if you use the "tree" to edit your page, you will see all the columns in the report below the IR region. There is no limit of 100 column here. And better yet, you can use drag and drop to move the column where you want to make or change directly with a double click or the menu shortcut "Edit" option.

  Use life cycle management in 11.1.x. You can easily retrieve several artifacts of the application and even extract their folders. When the job is run, choose file system, and LCM will generate a unique ZIP of all desired objects/reports. Copy them to the target server, and then follow the instructions of LCM for import into the target application.

  It's even easier to copy these to another application on the same instance of HSS.

  If you are on a version prior to 11.1.1, you will need a custom solution (or you can upgrade :-)

• Simple questions about interactive Apex reports

  There is an attribute on interactive reports where you can define whether the user can save it s own versions of the report, removing columns or adding filters, but the main report is always the same for all users, just as it has been defined by the developer of.

  On PDF printing, I use Jaspersoft Studio to do. It s free and very useful.  There is a package called jrxml2pdf developed by Andreas Weiden, that allows you to print reports of APEX jaspersoft.

  Well, I used to put html tags in the select text, getting the value of depending on the CASE, so I had to change the display column attribute in the report as "Display in text form (space special characters...)".

  I have an application that includes photos of employees. I want to display a link to the column in a report of the employee who opens a page to manage the photos of a given employee. Worked well when using an image of compatible icon for all employees.

  But I want to do is have two images of icons. If a photo already exists. Another case a photo has not yet been added.

  I have included a select with the following CASE statement in the Source of my region.

  That's because the behavior of standard report is to strip the HTML code of column values used in the expressions of HTML, links in the column and the report when the data is exported as CSV files. This is controlled by the attribute of HTML report of band, which by default is set to Yes. Change this setting to No. , and link images to be displayed.

  A solution with a better separation of concerns that are compatible with the Strip HTML and display text default settings is:

  1. Select only the image name in the query [ nvl2(p.person_id, 'photo', 'nophoto') photo is simpler than the previous CASE expression] and make this hidden column
  2. Add a link in the column to the State ('add column link' in the bar of tasks )
  3. Set the property of the new column binding Expression in HTML to
  4. Specify the column link attributes as required

  Last suggestion would be to display thumbnails of the photos used here where they exist rather than an arbitrary generic image...

  When I fly over the bar it shows label and value with 38 decimal points.

  Is it possible to restrict it to two decimal places.

  Yes. You can change this using the only the lines identified by / Unique column interactive properties in the section of the column of link in the attributes of the report definition report tab.

  You can use, but using this syntax * & P8_item.*

• Inserting into the table of the apex report log

  I have an interactive report with check boxes for each line, when I select a checkbox one according to the report and click the button submit that the first records of departure in the report are getting inserted into the table
  the lines that I select in the report is not getting inserted into the table.
  
  For example, if I select all 4 records in the box and click submit button 4 first records will be inserted into the table. Not the selected records.
  
  I put all the attributes attribute of standard report columns.

  I have fixed the bothe insert and update now procs.

  Changed the sql report to render the rownum as the value for the column in the box.

  Edited the page processes to use the value of rownum.
