#Attributes.ini on a folder empty

When creating a new thinapp in we will tell, DirectoryIsolationMode =: merge, I still have a few empty folders (% common AppData%, % of staff, Common Files %Program %,...) that have the file #attributes.ini and nothing else.)

This file contains:

[Segregation]
DirectoryIsolationMode = WriteCopy

What causes this behavior? I always delete these folders to avoid strange behavious (print queue in complete isolation, mydocs being sandboxed, appdata being sandboxed), but I would like to know why thinapp brand these records in such a way that they need this special isolation mode.

In addition to the correct answers above:

Taking into account the fact that ThinApp provides 2 main solutions of application deployment:

-Distribution as a single-file container

-'All' changing sandbox implementation does the application during execution

The main reason for the problems is sandboxing. You want to prevent your system to be "corrupted" due to a running application (like change the registry entries or modify system files), but if you type a word document that you want to be able to have this file your 'my documents '.

The default folders that you see are there to provide a usable platform. For all files does not appear in the project folder (all the %... %-records), the parameter that you specify when the snapshot after capturing are applied. Even for files that do not have an attributes.ini in it, like % % drive_C has often as only a subfolder is added.

DO not some of the folders are available. For example, if you delete % SystemSystem%/Spool, you will not be able to print...! As having personal % such as writecopy will be your documents themselves in the sandbox instead of on your system. You must understand the operation of the isolationmodes in order to determine what will be the effect of delete or even change the default settings.

In general, my experience is that the default values are quite OK. Some things that I have a different opinion on are for example normal temporary files and temporary internet files. This because it is easier to clean the system of these unwanted files and there are many tools that already, but nothing to for bins for sand. Similar I want our users to share favorites, cookies and other with their system local, except when it provides a secure browser, because otherwise users complain ' where are my ' or 'why I can't '...

Kind regards

    If a file does not contain a #attributes #, it will inherit all settings of file ##attribute of the parent folder.

  • Unchecking read only attribute on files and folder, subfolders does not persist

    I'm trying to disable the read-only attribute in the properties of a folder in the file system.  I uncheck this attribute, I say, too, that he would do that by clicking on apply, then it does to all files, folders, and subfolders... etc and it does.  Then I click ok to close the properties box.  If I reopen it the properties box, the read only attribute is on again once.  I tried several times but keep having the same problem.  I am logged in as administrator.

    How to keep turning off the read-only attribute?

    Do you mean that the read-only box is blue? This does not mean that the read-only attribute is on.

    I don't know what to do with the ownership of an item.

    In the tutorial...

    First step is to add Take Ownership option to your context menu.

    Two ASEO is to show you how to use it.

    First step is self-explanatory.
    Second step is... right click on the file/folder you want to delete > click appropriate > a black and white screen flashes for a second or two and disappear > now do a right click on the folder/file/new > click on delete.

    I hope this helps. For the benefits of others looking for answers, please mark as answer suggestion if it solves your problem.

  • Cannot delete files in the folder empty my RoboHelp projects.

    RoboHelp 2015 (12.0.2.384)

    Cannot delete empty folders. I get an error message "cannot find this item. Tried to remove from the project manager, Explorer and BACK.

    He eventually managed to delete this folder. I had to go back and find the hidden folder and delete it. BACK in fact my headache. I have used FileZilla because our company does not allow us to install whatever it is untrusted. I believe RoboHelp must do something under the covers and was a reference to that folder that I couldn't find.

  • The attributes of the element list empty when adding attribute #FROM_ROLE to the message (Type CREATEPO element)

    I'm customizing item type CREATEPO adding a new notification with the corresponding message and I am facing a problem with the workflow designer (using the v2.6.3.5.0 Oracle workflow Builder).

    This notification must have a specific sender, which is already stored in a custom element attribute.

    According to the developer's Guide, I add a new message attribute with the internal name = "#FROM_ROLE" for the new custom message.

    I put all the remaining data, according to the instructions of the Manual: Type = role, source = send, full name and description = ' role', default = attribute Item type.

    But when I try to set the default value, the list is empty and I can't choose any attribute of the element.

    I tried to define a new message in other Types of items, such as REQAPPRV, and in this case, the list of attributes is displayed correctly.

    Any idea or solution?

    Thanks in advance,

    David

    I already solved the problem.

    So that the attributes of the element to appear as default values for the attribute Message #FROM_ROLE, they must also be of type role.

  • Problem with pushing the attribute child xml to an empty array

    Hi guys,.

    I have another problem with the bet, or should I say, pushing data from an xml file to an empty array, as I stated earlier.

    During the xml_mc.onload, I can see the data, but after that, it becomes undefined.

    It seems that I couldn't find the solution on the net as well. I suspect that's not possible, but I'm not giving up.

    Please help me.

    Thank you.

    This is the code example:

    var monTableau = new Array();

    var xml1:XML = new XML();

    Xml1.ignoreWhite = true;

    Xml1.onload = function (success: Boolean) {}

    {if (Success)}

    var nodes = this.firstChild.childNodes;

    for (i = 0; i < nodes.length; i ++) {}

    MyArray [i] = nodes [i].attributes.name;

    }

    Text1. Text = MyArray [2];  to check if the 'name' attribute is visible

    } else {}

    trace ("could not load the XML");

    }

    }

    Xml1.load ("icons.xml");

    Text1. Text = MyArray [2]; I commented on the first text to try to display it again, and the result is not DEFINED...

    the XML would look like this:

    icons. XML

    < icons >

    < name of icon = "icon1" / >

    < name of icon = "icon2" / >

    < name of icon = "icon3" / >

    < name of icon = "icon4" / >

    < / icons >

    Thank you

    I do not understand your problem.  Table fill with data.  If you expect this second "text1.text ="show another thing that 'no set', it won't happen as you wrote it. "  This line of code is run before the onLoad function (code execution does not wait for loading files).  You want only to deal with the processing of the data, once the onLoad function he treated in the table.

  • How to copy *.jpg in a folder empty

    10.6.8 using

    I have connected my (Moutrie) USB camera to my computer.  I have the camera set to save jpg files and avi.  I have 500 files in the folder, 250 are in jpg.  I want to copy the jpg file to where I have a temporary folder.  BACK training, I don't know what to call things on a Mac, even if I use them for 8 years.

    In the Finder, under 'Locations' I of course desktop and Applications.  I also have the directory structure where I work, called "cglenn."  Under that, I have a temporary folder. The Moutrie is listed in the "Devices" box as moutriecam.

    I have messages in this forum, the closest, I came to reading: cp moutriecam/*.jpg ~cglenn/temp

    I tried without the tilda first.  In any case, so I don't know if the records of departure or destination (or both) are not typed correctly, the results say "no such file or directory,".

    If 'cglenn' is your user name, you must use "~ / temp ' where ' ~ / ' is a shortcut for/Home / or/Users/cglenn. Of course, I guess that the 'temp' folder is in your file.

  • Reformatted a hard drive now in a closed Chamber. Not an assigned drive letter. Installation in a NTFS folder empty?

    Hello.

    I have a few external hard drives. I want them to be little permanent on my laptop or desktop for creating media. The only way seems to be to not assign a drive letter and let windows assign/change it a whenever I connect it or assign a drive letter or install it in a NTFS folder. Currently only disk management is recognizing the readers, because they are not assigned or mounted.

    I have a few questions about the editing of this property. I want to have several drives working independent of drive c as possible.

    If a folder is placed on the c drive: 1. how many resources are required by c-drive?

    2. what concerns me is: these devices should not access drive c. drive c. If the mounted folder still behaves like an extrnal device? Or is it considered an internal c drive folder/position?

    3. I want a usb2, usb3, firewire400/800 or eSATA connection to have the maximum speed, not to be a bottleneck in a c drive thinking that she keeps "access itself. I'd rather have a c drive do it of thing and pull of external device, its weight as it is supposed to independently (or "independently" keepingin mind records temp and temporary files, etc...).

    4 is it windows search for NTFS files if the device is not connected? I guess not, and I would get a message saying something like "cannot access this folder, no content inside" or "please connect the device to access the contents of folder and it is mounted. What concerns me is: sometimes my computer does not start up if all devices are not enabled (usually after an accident, mistake, bad closure or a change of equipment). For example: I need my printer usb2 lights sometimes, or I just get a black screen in these situations. Then I get all the usual startup screens, etc.

    My alternative is to connect specific devices in a specific order to every time I use my computers for the purpose I want. Speed is my main concern, but I know that sometimes I can not connect external in the order because of what I'm doing, travel or I want to conserve their life and do not plan their use.

    Thank you.

    It's just a mount point, a symbolic link to the external volume.  Readers will work like any other drive, but they are assigned to a path to the drive rather than a letter, below all the NT object Manager handles this as a drive letter, the C: drive will do nothing to hold or store the link.  In a sort of way, that it would not much more different to a regular shortcut to another folder on another drive on your desktop, the office is on the C: drive, but when you access the file on the other drive via the shortcut it does not affect the C: drive.
