Audigy HD on Inspiron 1420... is this possible?
Well I have descended successfully my 1420 from Vista to XP, everything works, with a few problems but work... so now my question is...
I buyed my 1420 with Audigy HD Advanced Audio and worked like a charm, but Vista was the problem, so I need to downgrade... Is it possible to install drivers Audigy HD on XP on my 1420?
Who are the drivers and where can I get them? The series of my Audigy HD Vista drivers will work or I'll need another series? How can I get the new series?
I wonder if these are the drivers for Audigy HD on 1420...

Well, the compatibility list does not mention 1420... But if Audigy HD worked on Vista, why they should not work on XP on 1420?

If you use touchpad, install the drivers for the touchpad and try to reduce the sensitivity and check if it helps. Download the drivers from the link below.
After you install the drivers, you will be able to see the icon in the corner of the taskbar. Double-click the icon and you will see options to reduce the sensitivity

Dell Inspiron 1420 none audio internal speakers.
Good day, everyone.
I have Inspiron 1420 Vista 32 of my brother as a gift. He had before and said he had sound from the moment he bought, but later (he doesn't remember when) the sound just disappeared. I reinstalled the system to the factory settings (press F8 and then restored from the recovery D: drive). No audio through loudspeakers. However, I can hear everything if I connect my headphone via jacks-audio connectors. I reinstalled the drivers for the "drivers and utilities" DVD. Same result. I downloaded the two drivers from the download page of Dell (R157031 and R167846) and tried one by one. Same thing. I ran diagnostic test (F12 >... > system > Custom > Audio Analog test and can hear the sound on the speakers.) I tried to remove the driver, and then restart the computer, so Vista can catch the new material and solve the problem, but after that the new hardware has been detected, Windows driver installed, the result is the same. I checked if the speakers are cut and they were not. I checked the control panel > sounds and saw 2 options on the digital playback, and speakers/headphones (with a green check mark) output device. Tried all the options, but still can't hear anything through speakers, but can through the headphones.
Guys, before I will let fall and broke it laptop, help. Please, I beg you. I'm sure the solution is close, just need advice.
JimcoI don't know about 1420. The 1520 has a taken audio daughterboard here, Reference Dell: RT882.
It says Vostro 1500, which is the same as the Inspiron 1520. There is a phone number you can call (1-800-357-3355) to see if it is also for the 1420.

I fixed the sound. Yesterday, I spent almost an hour talking with Dell customer service, technical department and * knows who else and I got I need to replace my motherboard ($299). Today, I disassembled my laptop complete with MANUAL DELL for INSPIRON 1420. NOTE from the ADMIN: Broken link has been removed / replaced this post by Dell > after I pulled out the mother board, I could find (YES!) Audio Jack daughter Board. I started to chat with Dell and spent an hour trying to explain to them, this girl for Inspiron card exists and that I hold in my hand... I showed them your link... I wanted to just buy the card Audio Jack daughter at home, but they have checked my service tag, asked me if I have waranty, where have I bought this laptop... So, accordingly, I have no help from Dell.
After that I gave up on them, I put up any piece of aluminum foil, touch my problematic jack and then assemble everything back. And VOILA! Everything is fine. I have a sound input of the internal speaker, I have a jack for headphones, a disabled jack and a microphone jack. TADA!

Pilot: SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODECHello. I recently upgraded my Inspiron 1420 Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit) for Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit). The upgrade was very successful with the exception of audio problems.
The problem is very strange, at least for me. I have three audio ports on the front (two headphones and a microphone). Both headphones work fine, but the port of microphonoe no longer works. This problem occurred after my Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade. It didn't when I was still on Windows Vista Edition Home Premium. I don't really know what the problem is. It seems that the audio cuts when I try to go into the selection of "Recording devices", when I right click on the volume in my taskbar icon. The sound cuts.
An example error message would be when I choose recording devices while Windows Media Player is running (play music too, of course), I would get this message: 'an audio device has been disconnected or reconfigured. Make sure the audio device is connected, and then try to replay the point."
Other audio problems would be video games such as counter-strike (for those who are familiar with this game). I would like to start the game, but there is no sound. I reduce and there is still no sound. It's only when I leave the game my audio would return.Again, I don't know exactly what the problem. Maybe my model (Inspiron 1420) does not support Windows 7 Ultimate? Is there a driver for my SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC driver updates?
For any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Given that you've gone from Home Premium, Ultimate, you had to do a reinstall (you can not simply be upgraded). With an installation of 'new', you have to install all the drivers (Win 7 can install some) but you should also install any chipset not install drivers before installation of the device drivers or devices will be either or not install correctly.
There are two chipset drivers listed on the download page for Vista 32-bit, and they should work on Win 7 32 bit (regardless of Version). There is also a SigmaTel driver on downloads. Download and install the two drivers from the chipset, then the Sigma Tel and see if that corrects the problem.

Problem of driver Bluetooth Dell Inspiron 1420
I have an Inspiron 1420 old (Windows Vista 32 bit) I use to run a car diagnostic OBD II program that uses a Bluetooth adapter to connect to the vehicle. I installed a drive hard more and Windows 7 32 bit in and I cannot get the driver for the Bluetooth adapter to install. The computer is a Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth + EDR 2.0 adapter and I have the right driver, R140135, for this adapter and Windows 7, but it does not work. And the driver is loading ever. The Bluetooth worked with the original Windows Vista Home Basic, but not now. Can anyone help or am I condemned to reinstall Windows Vista?

I'm not a Mozilla support person, but according to my experience, synchronization must be called Sync in Mozilla, Firefox or Seamonkey Sync...
If you create an account in Firefox, this account is accessible to Seamonkey.
According to the instructions of Mozilla in Firefox, you open 'Options, sync, add a device' and in Seamonkey "sync Setup, I already have an account. The text here is a little confusing because you have to read 'I already have a Mozilla sync account', otherwise, you tend to think that it involves a Seamonkey sync account...
Then click 'connect' and Seamonkey then provides three fields of characters that you enter in the appropriate fields in the dialog 'Add a device' Firefox.
I think it's confusing that in Firefox, the server is called 'Server of Firefox Sync' and same Seamonkey offers a "Seamonkey Sync Server', which suggests that they are two completely separate entities, not connected.

Hi, I'm an average user of tabs. Let's say I opened 25 tabs in a window/session. I want to select 5 tabs to close, at one time, but without using the tabs groups/panorama that I am too clumsy use this feature. :-) I mean it takes more time to create your groups and then close the group. I would prefer to select my tabs and close them then directly from my window screen. Is this possible?
