Aurora R4 Windows - AlienFX - 8.1

So I followed almost all guides in line for this and I can't seem to find an answer. Now Windows 8.1 is located 4.5 as a package with the operating system, so you can't really uninstall / re install easily, I saw some post in my research that said Dell was aware of this problem are there any plans to release an updated version of the command center that is compatible with Windows 8.1? Or someone who has windows 8.1 could get it is functional?

Thank you

So I thought out, caught a little but I got it, it turns out that... that you have actually to turn the machine off. See that I'd just been restarted. But a full and real power cycle corrected it. As only physically turning of... who would have thunk it.

  • Aurora R3 Windows 10 birthday day hot start out back

After you install the update to Windows 10 anniversary, which required the old trick of hard-boot-between-steps to install, I find my Alienware Aurora r3 reboot properly and crashes while loading windows process.  Previously, I managed to solve this problem by reinstalling the drivers Chipset Intel and Renesas USB3, but that doesn't seem to work this time.  Does anyone at - he had success resolving this issue with the update of the anniversary?

    Hello

Unfortunately, according to the policy document, the Alienware Aurora R3 will not be supported on Windows 8, 8.1, or 10. Some users have successfully installed Windows 10 on these non supported system, but they did all the pilot survey to force it to work. Dell doesn't have the resources to do this on systems not supported. You can also try this announcement on Notebook Review and Alienware Arena forums for assistance.

  • Alienware Aurora R4 Windows 10 help

Then, I woke up today to realize that Windows 10 mysteriously installed on my R4 Aurora without my consent, so whatever. In any case, so far, has been correct, but I have 1 question that I can't just understand how to fix after several hours of troubleshooting and research on.

Weird behavior with my PC when close and turn on/off. When turned on, the lights that are on top of the PC take a white color for a few seconds before starting the system. I have not had this happen before but wanted to know if it is a question. Second, when closing, the vents on top of the PC not close like they used to. I tried to jump the CMOS, but it did not help this problem at all.

If you have the time, I would like to know how you guys overcame these problems if they were present on your machines as well.

Looks (maybe) MIO-Board of Directors and/or Alienware command center is having a hard time determining "Power Mode" (market/shutdown/sleep etc.).

Try to set "Fast Startup" each way as a test.

To a full stop and the Power Dissipation between modifications.

If you're looking for a bit in the forum, you will find many recent messages on the other Aurora-R4 with similar problems after updates of Windows-10. Dell says they are Windows-10 compatible, but I have my doubts.

Link to OCCT is on the page I linked. I suggest you stress-test machine with this good card.

Yes, a single video card is better.

Even if you don't have PS 525w, you should be able to run any single card around $300. If you have the optional 875w PS, you can run any card you want (even very large, powerful and expensive ones).

Aurora R1 is x 58 chipset based and equipped with a (non-UEFI) BIOS of Legacy. You can buy a card that has a dual BIOS and supports inheritance. I heard current MSI maps have a dip switch that switches between legacy/hybrid or Win7/Win8.

  • Problems with Alienware Aurora R4 Windows 10

I had strange problems, especially since the update to Windows 10. Sometimes, I have no answer to click on in the lower left corner of Windows icon. Other times, it has a transparent background, etc. I was also at random to make a BSOD with IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error. Here is a link to the dump file...

I'm under BIOS A11, GTX690, 16 GB ram, i7 - 4820K @ 3.7 GHz. Those who know how to interpret the dump files can point me in the right direction?

  • Aurora is advertised as a windows application 8, and yet it opens in the desktop section of windows, can it be opened in the application of half of windows 8? It would be more useful...

In windows 8 screen can be divided into desktop and app half half, it would be very useful if Aurora could be opened in the application, half of the operating system and allow the normal office work to the other half, on a windows desktop 8, I can't see any advantage to use Aurora instead of Firefox, if this is not possible It's a little let down to be honest, I thought that Aurora was an excellent and practical idea.

Is there a way for this app windows 8 be opened as an app, or is it limited to the desktop?

    Thank you for your help

Hello spangled101, just to clarify: aurora is a code name for the beta version of firefox hwere novelties are tested. the version that is aurora today will be available as firefox in a few months.

But back to the real question: Please refer to this article How do I bring up the aurora metro windows mode: how I run Firefox for Windows 8 Touch?

  • Vista Home Premium Screensaver Aurora and the energy of Windows

Since 3 weeks I have had really bad luck with 2 of your screensavers and my 4 graphics cards. I'm not sure what kind of screensavers guys do but 2 named Aurora and Windows energy should never have been released to the public without testing, including the impact on your GPU and overheating.

In the last 3 weeks I was troubleshooting problem vista Home Premium 32 - bit Windows and freezing issues. Card provided with the computer was GeForce 6150 TO work for about 2 months and then computer began to do bad things, freeze, stop, don't work sometimes and some other questions. I thought it was bad GPU so I replaced it with my HIS ATI Radeon X 1950 Pro, this card gave me warnings 12 hours after it has been installed that card is running a little hot and the ATI software will lower FREQ map. This card lasted about 2 days and he died too, but this time model would be just weird points and not whole screen is unreadable. I installed the program called the fan speed to monitor and record what is happening with this card. Computer has been used for business only IE and a few other small programs where ran, no games or anything. Since my last card was fried I replaced it with my GeForce 7900 GT OC, this card gave me the nice amount of needed data, but at the same time, this card lasted only 3 days.

I thought as the fans run at full speed and becomes pleasant cooling perhaps is the PCI-E slot which is a short or something, wrong.
Today I went to the store to buy PCI card, got nice $65 GeForce 6200 and plugged in, the fan speed is ready to record everything, Idle temperatures where 41 C for 47 of the CPU and GPU. I was doing some defragment and antivirus, trying to run the CPU at 100% and record what is happening that I was also running Media player and other programs with Visual effects to see if I can push this cards Temp. above its limits, after 2 hours of messing around with this, I gave up and is gone to smoke a cigarette, returned screensaver has been running (Aurora btw) off and checked the temp. Newspaper.

Fan speed showed warning and GPU temp to 85 C. Then I then and tried the same thing on the screen saver Windows energy and got the same results, just go inside the screensaver and clicking on Aurora screensaver will bring your cards temp at least 5 c in a second.

Since I do not use Vista (and will never) on my home computer, I was wondering if someone with the GTX 200 series can try and test this point and see how many temp. changes on his rig during this operation. I my rig with windows XP pro and don't know if I can get Aurora or energy of Windows XP to test it on my GTX 260 sli.

    Thank you

I would check the power supply. A screen saver will NOT cause to burn three cards. MCDST

  • Failed to save themes AlienFX

I get the following error when I try to change the themes on my Alienware Aurora R4 using AlienFX

"Access to the path 'C:\Users\Owner\Documents\AlienFX\Themes\Alienware.ath' is denied."

Any ideas on how I can fix this? Not a huge deal, but not optimal either.

    * EDIT *.
I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 to 10, it's probably worth mentioning.

Oh boy. I just realized a really easy solution. All I have to do is run it as an administrator. Sorry! My bad! Does anyone know how to set all programs to run as administrators by default?

  • When I insert a new web page, it goes to the bottom of the page this happens only since the last update I'm running Aurora

Since the last update when I load a new web page, the page loads fine but as soon as its loading, it just goes right to the bottom of the page - its very annoying I'm under Aurora on windows XP service pack 3

Thanks Cor - el your advice has solved the problem.

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

I would like to ask if it is possible to install the new 4.0 on the Aurora-R4, or at least command center if it will be possible. Would be really great.  Now I have version 3.5.

  • Windows detects 3 TB HDD as being the only 746,52 GB of capacity

Hello. I have an Alienware Aurora under Windows 7 Ultimate x 64 desktop. I just installed a 3 TB HGST sister 7 K 3000 SATA internal hard drive, I want to use for the data, not as a system disk or boot.

I initialized the disk as a disk GPT and Windows Explorer, Windows and EaseUS Partition Master Professional Disk Manager can see, but they all see him as having only 746,52 GB of capacity.  I can create a partition of this size, if I want to, but I want to fill 3 TB (or 2.7 or anything really).

I installed the latest drivers for my SATA controller and the Intel chipset, and I installed the technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver and software. The Intel Software see the full capacity of 3 TB in my new HARD drive, but it doesn't let me do anything to make this capability available for Windows.

The Dell support page continues to tell me I need to install the Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility, v.9.1.1.1019, A01 (pilot), even if I installed it three or four times already and successfully, as far as I can tell.  (In other words, technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology is installed and seems to be working, as I said already - although I should mention also that the only thing it offers you to let me do is to turn the LED on HARD drive port.  Is he supposed to do, if I don't have a RAID configuration?)

I'll be grateful for any help.

    Sincerely,

    Jim Crutchfield
    Long Island City, NY

This should work for you: Intel IRST worm 11.6.0.1030.  F6flpy files are the drivers to preload for use during a Windows installation.  Two files include pilots and the IRST so Control Panel.  It shouldn't matter that you use; the only difference is that the first is English only as far as I know.  If the installer does not see what he needs on your computer, it will simply refuse to install.

  • Alienware Aurora R4 attends BIOS blinking cursor

My brother turns on its Alienware Aurora R4, Windows 7 (64 bit) / and BIOS version A06 BIOS splash screen comes up as usual, the loading bar gets about 25% of the full path, then it will beep once and the screen goes black with a flashing cursor (line underscore) in the left corner high and there it is.

Without these changes have been made to the machine (hardware or software), and he has not had problems before; However, he managed to disconnect the machine as he ran the previous night, and the blinking cursor boot was apparently the first boot from.

I have really no idea where to go from here in terms of diagnosis of the problem, but I have a vague feeling that it is an easy solution...

Any help is appreciated, I have not found many similar problems through google...

We thought finally it more filled its hard disk to the point windows could not start. I hope this information helps someone else.

  • Where to download Alienware FX/Command center?

    Hello

I don't see this in the downloads available for my Alien Aurora R4.  In the applications on the drivers and downloads section, it lists only the update of Dell and Dell Digital delivery.  No other downloads are for the Alienware software.

Download/save the Aurora-R4 Windows 7/8.1 authorized command center on your Windows desktop. Right click on the saved file, click on the Compatibility tab, choose the compatibility mode, then run it.
