  On a new installation of Windows 7 Enterprise, Authentec fingerprint software has two problems that I can't find a solution to

  1. it will not connect to the domain and saves only as a local user. The user will have to type the password to connect to as a domain user. How to solve this problem or solution?

• Where to get the authentec fingerprint drivers for various computers laptops hp that supports the functionality of the biometric device in windows 7?

  We build a Windows 7 SOE for a large company that takes care of many models of computers laptops hp. Each of these laptops comes with a fingerprint reader, and we would like to use the built in support of fingerprint (biometric devices) reader that is running windows 7. The models that we support are as follows:

  • HP 6910P
  • HP 6930p
  • HP 8510w
  • HP 8530w

  We tried using the drivers of fingerprint Authentec (aes2501a) on the hp website, but after the installation, the biometric device option is not in windows 7. We contacted HP about this and they said that we must use the driver coming from windows update before this option appears. After installing the driver from windows update, the option of the biometric device seemed that hp said. Therefore, because of the way that our SOE is built, we demand that the executable that is identical to that on windows update. Anyone know where we can find packages both x 64 and x 86 for this device driver, which are the same as those found when you go to update windows on these machines running windows 7? Let me know if you need any clarification.

  Step 1: Locate the stand-alone file by inserting the device model number
  a. visit http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Home.aspx
  in the search box, enter the model number of the perimeter search of the driver.
  c. download the right driver for your windows and install it successfully on all computers.

  Note: If there is no available stand-alone file, I'm afraid you'll have to visit update of Windows on all computers and the installation of the update done or contact the device manufacturer to obtain the driver.

  I have a refurbished Hp EliteBook 8530w with Windows 7 Professional.

  I did a reboot with the CD that came with the computer, everything was fine, except that it didn't reinstall about 5 of my records. One of the discs was the fingerprint sensor. Well I reinstalled the drive but can't seem to find out how to install the software real/activate the reader through my control panel so that I can connect with my fingerprint. It worked until I rebooted with CD.

  Extract it with WinRar.

  There are two folders:

  Install the driver appropriate for your system.

  I just bought the Portege Z830, and fingerprint utility allow me to register fingerprints.

  So after some research, apparently, I need to delete the memory via "TrueSuite Access Manager", but I don't seem to have this program on the laptop.

  As far as I know it was supported under Win XP and I think that this should also work in Win 7

  Support for laptop and Authentec Fingerprint Software (TrueSuite)
  The latest version of the software appears to be available for Portege Z930.
  On the European driver Toshiba page, you might find the v version 2.0.0.9 for Win 7 64 bit

  I recommend that you install this if you cannot find the software on your HARD drive.

  A user can access its files of fingerprints protected when you save these files on external storage as for example a network drive and perform a recovery or reinstallation of the operating system on the computer where the files are protected.

  AuthenTec fingerprint software provides a feature called 'the file/folder protection' which gives the user the ability to protect files without worrying if stored locally, on an external (USB flash memory) or network storage with either a password or stored fingerprints. After you protect the files, they cannot be moved/copied/deleted until the user Déprotège them.

  The first cause of the above mentioned scenario is due to the fact that the fingerprint software "Authentec" creates a link between material installed fingerprint and file system on the HARD disk that functions as a key. This connection is deleted after a formatting or removal of the hard drive of the computer. Without this connection, the files are no longer accessible and the user will not be able to unprotect them since there is no "key", that could unlock the file protection.

  _Resolution: _

  I purchased a Qosmio x 500 10 t a couple of months back. For the first two weeks, I had no probs using the fingerprint reader to log on windows and connect to Web sites in Internet exploer.

  All of a sudden it would not work on any website that is stored. The Green banner was shown in the upper part of the site and asked finger drag, but nothing happened when I slipped. I rebooted and it worked again but not for long before failing. This time a restart didn't work so I deleted my fingerprints and Web sites and started from scratch. It worked for a few attempts before probs started. And to try to enter the utility of fingerprint it says the connection of sensor failure. So, I did a system restore. He worked for some time yet and then same probs. So I found the update utility software, uninstalled the old and put on the new. Even once worked for a couple of times then failed.

  I couldn't find anything about it is stuck in the registry but to be on the safe side I did a full system own return to the original using disks of backup configuration. Hey presto, I thought that he had worked. Everything goes ok for the first 24 hours and then same problems start to occur. Only this time it's also prompting me to register fingerprints even if I already have. And when I try to enter the utilioty it says cannot read the sensor again.

  The fingerprints for windows log still works as long as I do not close the utility of fingerprinting before stopping.   The way that it work´s if you use the pilot train Authentec.

  But then the biometric application in the control panal informs you that a management application is necessary (but you are not able to get the application truesuite (toshiba) as a software without the toshiba driver).

  So the way is to use the TrueSuite application downloadable on the Authentec Web site, but this will cause additional costs.

  As far as I know you can download the software for R830 of AuthenTec fingerprint from the European pilot of Toshiba page but this version of the software only works with WIN XP.

  For Win 7 32 bit and 64 bit, you can download the software of Toshiba fingerprint.

• Portege R500 - stop with AuthenTec software installed

  I have a problem with R500 (PPR50E-06W011PL). I plug it nine January 4th, 2010.

  In the order indicated in the manual, installed XP Pro and then all the drivers (lates available versions). I very quickly realized shutdown problems (sometimes with blue screen for less than a second) upon awakening from hibernation or same screen saver. It is in almost every second awakening.
