  We build a Windows 7 SOE for a large company that takes care of many models of computers laptops hp. Each of these laptops comes with a fingerprint reader, and we would like to use the built in support of fingerprint (biometric devices) reader that is running windows 7. The models that we support are as follows:

  • HP 6910P
  • HP 6930p
  • HP 8510w
  • HP 8530w

  We tried using the drivers of fingerprint Authentec (aes2501a) on the hp website, but after the installation, the biometric device option is not in windows 7. We contacted HP about this and they said that we must use the driver coming from windows update before this option appears. After installing the driver from windows update, the option of the biometric device seemed that hp said. Therefore, because of the way that our SOE is built, we demand that the executable that is identical to that on windows update. Anyone know where we can find packages both x 64 and x 86 for this device driver, which are the same as those found when you go to update windows on these machines running windows 7? Let me know if you need any clarification.

  Step 1: Locate the stand-alone file by inserting the device model number
  a. visit http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Home.aspx
  in the search box, enter the model number of the perimeter search of the driver.
  c. download the right driver for your windows and install it successfully on all computers.

  Note: If there is no available stand-alone file, I'm afraid you'll have to visit update of Windows on all computers and the installation of the update done or contact the device manufacturer to obtain the driver.

  I have a critical Windows Server 2012 area with 5 computers of customers, all Windows 7 Pro.

  One of the users has had his computer (laptop) off site this weekend and connected to a starbucks.  Upon return, he can connect is more and it is prompted with the following error: \\fileserver\Folder Redirection\username\Desktop is not accessible.   So, here's the problem.  I can connect to any other user accounts on his laptop without a hitch.  His user name can be used to connect to other computers, even if the connection to a computer produces a logon error server is not available.

  I tried flushing dns, remove the laptop network and reconnect... but I am at a loss.

  Any suggestions?

• Portege R830 - use of fingerprinting as part of Windows 8

  I have big problems with two drivers Toshiba on my Portege R830 computer in Win 8 Pro 64 bit upgrade.

  I did a clean update on a reformatted hard drive, then went to install display drivers and that totally crashed my machine out.

  Seems there is something wrong with the registration of fingerprints for me it looks like the old fingerprints are still present, somewhere in the registry or on the folder of files to HARD drive.

  I think you should first remove the traces of fingers and then have to uninstall the software.
  After this should clean the registry using a tool like Ccleaner.
  Restart the unit. Install the VAP (value added package) and fingerprint software!

  I have a refurbished Hp EliteBook 8530w with Windows 7 Professional.

  I did a reboot with the CD that came with the computer, everything was fine, except that it didn't reinstall about 5 of my records. One of the discs was the fingerprint sensor. Well I reinstalled the drive but can't seem to find out how to install the software real/activate the reader through my control panel so that I can connect with my fingerprint. It worked until I rebooted with CD.

• Unable to validate a way out of trust on either of the two domains using Windows Server 2008 R2

  I have two domain controllers in the two different forests.  Both have a Stub dns setup for each other and can ping both the field and the name of dc for eachother.  Domain1 build outgoing approval and validate successfully.  Domain2 see confidence applied, however any attempt to validate this trust or build from the Wizard ends with only 2 domain cannot locate the domain controller for Domain1.  What can be done to allow Domain2 validate this trust?
