  Looks like your laptop is overheating ;)

  You must clean your laptop using a jet of compressed air. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans. Blow air gently and shortly into the holes of the case.

  Thank you.  I'll do it and change my Windows Update settings.  BUT, FYI, in an act even more incredible, the same night I posted my question here, my computer was said upload, and I was still in place at 03:00 (when Windows is set to d/l and install updates).  I went to the kitchen for a bit and returned to my computer to find a countdown - he downloaded updates and "will re-start in 7 minutes" or so and counting down... I said "AH HA!"  I caught you! "I clicked the button of REPORTER and went to bed smiling that I myself had saved wasting many hours of work.  But when I woke up the next morning...   I'll have to push the power button, and it starts with a BIOS that is not upgraded.

  Does anyone know why auto restart does not work on the laptop?

  (1) did you do changes on the computer before this problem?

  Step 1: I suggest you to follow the steps from the link to disable the automatic system failure restart and check.

  c. restart the computer.

  Locks are the result of poorly coded application; fix is to change the application code that results in the locks

  I NEVER auto restart my Production databases.

  I want to study why it came down before eventually destroy the evidence needed to analyze and debug the root cause.

  I have laptop Toshiba Satellite A300-29N, recently, I noticed that my laptop auto-redémarre after 5 minutes, I thought that this could be a problem of charger so I replaced it, and nothing has changed, so I thought that maybe the power so I plugged the power regulator and no change, finally I opened to check for problems of heating and changed the CPU cooler and nothing has changed as well.

  It is not easy to say why this is happening. Can you please do a little test?
  Start your laptop and enter the BIOS settings. Leave it for a while and let us know if the same thing happens again.

  I have a 18 month old lenovo y510. Its functioning smoothly with windows vista that came with it. The one and a worrisome problem is that it restarts automatically when it is lying idle and mainly when the charger is connected. I noticed a number of times that as soon as the screen fades because of the power management settings, the computer will reboot as if his power was disrupted.

  But it is now resolved. In the windows update software that comes with vista, it was in the queue, a update lenovo power management driver that I installed it. And it solved the problem.
