Satellite A300-29N - auto restart within a time

Hello

I have laptop Toshiba Satellite A300-29N, recently, I noticed that my laptop auto-redémarre after 5 minutes, I thought that this could be a problem of charger so I replaced it, and nothing has changed, so I thought that maybe the power so I plugged the power regulator and no change, finally I opened to check for problems of heating and changed the CPU cooler and nothing has changed as well.

This occurs if the operating system is Windows or Linux, so is hardware not software problems, recently, time went from 5 minutes to 30 seconds, directly after the OS loads, I don't really know what's wrong with it, I tried everything I suspected it might be the problem, anyone have any idea why what is happening?.

Thank you
Ahmed

Hi Chambers

It is not easy to say why this is happening. Can you please do a little test?
Start your laptop and enter the BIOS settings. Leave it for a while and let us know if the same thing happens again.

    You use the last Ubuntu?

Try setting the SATA Mode to compatibility (located in the BIOS, press F2 at the Toshiba logo after power up).

What do you think? I think the case is clear if the error occurs on (Windows and Linux). That's why it of necessary to exchange the motherboard or the touchpad.

Your laptop must be checked to an authorized service provider. Technicians can determine what is the reason and order all spare parts, they are necessary. Moreover, the Toshiba site, you can search the nearest ASP.

    Hello

Looks like your laptop is overheating ;)

You must clean your laptop using a jet of compressed air. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans. Blow air gently and shortly into the holes of the case.
It of necessary to clean the cooling system from time to time. I do it every 3 months.

By the way: what display driver you are using? If you use a Toshiba not display driver remove and install the latest version of the Toshiba page.

    Hello

I m wondering that you want to install Windows server on a laptop...

In any case, it is a known problem and also happens on XP and Vista. To fix this you need to use the laptop SATA driver or you change the SATA mode in the BIOS by AHCI compatible, then you don't need a driver.

Here are some instructions that might be useful for you:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD9401AN0000R01.htm

I do not know if you will get a driver for Server 2003 but you can try the XP driver and in the worst cases, it must use compatible mode m.

Let me give you a little advice: If you have other questions, use the forum search. You can find hundreds of discussions about this.

  • Satellite A200 hangs or restarts at any time

    Hello

I am facing problem with my Toshiba Satellite A200 since last week. The problem, I noticed even is mentioned below in steps:

    1. start & freezes on the screen at any time or logon
2 restart at any time without any notification as blue screen or any message dumping

    Explanation in detail:

As I start my laptop it can freeze or restart at any moment after the Startup logo. This has happened several times, I noticed. If it freezes, after waiting for half an hour, if it does not, restart any movement of the mouse, no appeal of taskmgr, etc. it completely freezes. Then I made him stop forcing for example, by pressing the power button / stop for a long time.

    * Things to note here: this happens when the power adapter is connected *.

Same thing repeated here with AC not plugged (on battery), the system works absolutely perfect until that hard battery backup with permitted load on the processor and any diet Plan. Tested also on AC only (battery does not exist) but same results, no resolution.

As soon as AC is plugged the laptop is ready to freeze or reboot anytime * and the time varies between instant to max 45 minutes I noticed several times.

Second thing to note is that if I boot in SafeMode it works absolutely fine with & without plugged AC.

    * Measures taken to resolve: *.

    * High temperature set: *.
I also cleaned the heatsink fan heat + metal bands filter in front of the FAN to avoid high temperatures, but same results, no resolution.

    * OS Installation costs: *.
I installed a clean copy of the OS, but no effect not found, same results, no resolution

    * AC adapter power supply check & replacement: *.
I checked the output of the AC adapter / CC it 19.7V DC no load. I borrowed a new AC adapter with my cousin with the same model, but the same results, no resolution.

    * AC adapter Socket change: *.
To avoid the bad food, but the same results, no resolution.

    * BIOS: *.
Settings to change the frequency of the dynamics processor to still weak & 2nd Core Disabled, same results, no resolution.

After searching a solution on various sites, I tried several ways but without success.

Finally worked for me is to start in "SafeMode-> Device Manager-> disabled both processors ' & restarted in normal mode, everything works fine.

    * Question: *.
1 but what is the real fault I want to know who?
    2. How safe to operate with disabled processors?
    3. What is the effect of it on the laptop?
    4. it's the real solution?

Please give me the real solution.

    Thank you
    Hemant

    Hi mate

The sounds of history for me really weird I mean disabling processors in Device Manager
Is this laptop must not freeze and must restart not anytime if that's the case then something must be wrong with the software or hardware.
Because you installed the OS and the problem is still available, I guess something must be wrong with the material; Perhaps the mother or the CPU itself

It is difficult to say what could be wrong, but it seems like material is affected

  • Satellite A300 - Windows Vista restarts on shutdown

I just have to drive HARD on Satellite A300, Vista recovery and it gives me problems when I try to close it, it just restarts. It doesn't matter if it is on battery or plugged in. I have the point on the BIOS, did you install in power options, but still the same problem. I have the card WiFi and non-functional network, if anyone thinks that maybe that's the problem. All entries are welcome.

Did you check if all devices are properly installed in Device Manager? Check for exclamation marks Device Manager yellow and if there are some unknown devices.

Also try to disable wake up on LAN and keyboard as Akuma has suggested.

  • Satellite A300 - system automatically restarts

After using it for a few hours my laptop A300 restarts. Initially, happening every hour. But after you turn off auto-start in the system recovery, it has not restarted every hour. Also whenever I turn on my laptop Startup Repair appears saying that the computer was not properly stop, where he starts using the system restore. After you run the memory diagnostic tool, he showed the detected hardware problems, please contact the manufacturer.

Does that mean my RAMis reducer device? Please help me as soon as possible...

    Hey Buddy,

The Windows memory diagnostic tool check the RAM modules and if it detects an error it seems that one or both modules are defective and must be replaced.

You have two memory Modules RAM in your A300?
If so, you should try to remove a module and all modules test in simple mode. A single module is maybe defective.

New modules of RAM, you can order from an authorized service provider or some online stores. I think you'll find enough.

  • Re: Satellite A300 of start-up problems and time

    Hello everyone,

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A 300, and I have some problems with it.

Problem is when I leave my computer (without external energy source) the time resets 2007, after several hours about (could be 6 hrs)., and computer quite often begins immediately after that I push the power button.

I don't know the cause of the problem, because the battery is OK., computer running long on battery.

I think the problem is in an internal battery in the CMOS, but I don't know if there is in portable computers.

    Suggestions will be highly appreciated!

    Kind regards

    Hello

    > The problem is when I leave my computer (without external energy source) the time resets 2007, after several hours about (could be 6 hrs)., and computer quite often begins immediately after that I push the power button.
Which is strange, I want to say the CMOS battery should not unload even the main battery is not empty as it s really strange to happen after 6 hours of non-use...

What you can do is to let the laptop connected to the AC adapter for over 24 hours
During this period the laptop should be lit!
Then you can check the operation of the CMOS battery and if this behavior will always be

If Yes, then you will need to contact a local ASP. Maybe the CMOS or the motherboard needs to be replaced

  • Satellite P750 - iaStor0, not replied within the time limit.

    Hello

I'm running a p750 with windows 7 64 bit. The computer frezes for about 30 seconds, several times after startup. After about 20 minutes, there seems to be some problems, but anything that requires disk access can freeze, for example movies. Also have the issue of freezing with windows media center, I guess because it access a lot of the HD.

I have not tried anything, but as I thought coming here would probably be the first wise step. My first reaction would be to do a restore before the problem started to appear, but I read a thread where this can be solved by downloading new drivers.

    Can anyone help?

    > My first response would be to do a restore before the show began to appear...
In my opinion you should try it anyway. You can't do anything wrong if you restore BONES on a time earlier before that question began to appear.

If you are going to test it thanks for posting comments.

  • Satellite A300 - how to reset to factory settings?

    Hello everyone,

first of all, sorry for my English, it is not my native language and I do a lot of mistakes, I hope you can understand me correctly.

My problem is that I have a toshiba Satellite A300 provided with Windows Vista op time after I have bought I installed windows 7 on it (you know, so new that I have to try). Now, my problem is I want to reset my phone. I have the recovery disks, and the folder HDDRecovery D: but my computer cannot read.

What can I do? I tried a lot of things... How can I reboot my computer to factory settings?

    Hope you can help me,

    Best regards.

    Hi biguri,.

After the installation of another operating system, you will need to use the Toshiba Recovery disk to restore to factory settings. That means Vista preloaded with all the drivers and tools you get back if you boot from the recovery disc and follow the on-screen instructions.

But don't forget to make a backup of the important files like photos, videos, etc., because the recovery disk will wipe the entire HARD disk.

You have problems with the recovery disk?
