Automated transfer of Windows 7 to a new system method?

Hello

(There is probably a thread or two on this topic already and I need a pointer to it.  My keywords are not finding it.)

I replaced my PC, erase my Windows 7 Pro, then downloaded Windows 7 Pro to the new system and activating the latter.

I'm hoping there is an automated way to reactivation because trying to do it by phone has in the past taken more than two hours.

I have an account of my Product ID and the product of the last Activation key.

But on the old PC's operating system is 32-bit and I want Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on the new machine.

What will happen?  Will I pay more for the 64-bit version when I download it?  No doubt.  It is very good.  But I will be able to activate it immediately, or I have to activate the 64-bit version, on the new computer, phone?

Thank you

GP

As long as you use the same product with the same edition (Windows 7 Professional) key, the product key should work regardless of architecture (64-bit). You may experience problems with activation because it is the weekend. Try during the week.

There is no need to buy an additional license.

  • OEM Windows installed on a new system and being told that my key is invalid.

    Product key problem

A year ago, I bought a version of XP SP3 OEM and installed on a computer (clean install).  No problems.  A few months later, I had to wipe the drive and reinstall.  Once again, no problem.  Now I got a new computer, but when I try to install with the same disk (clean install) and the same product key, I like that is not valid.  Some things that are not a factor:

Damaged drive.  The disc is impeccable.
    Error in the Enter key.
Key is not not the disc.
I don't see how something other than the computer, the key and installation disc could play a role.  I hope that Microsoft does not know what I do in my room.  I even traded keyboards, that someone suggested that this could be a factor (speaking with an accent keyboard?).
My next step is to wipe the drive and start over, but I think I'll meet the same problem, because players will be the same.
    Any ideas?

After the activation of Windows XP on the older PC, having to reactivate Windows XP is not so rare that are several hardware changes within a short time, not to mention the motherboard.

Change the motherboard is a reactivation guaranteed event.  Just change all the RAM, PSU, CPU and made it a videocard in a few weeks.  "Activate Windows" more on wikipedia lists the 8 areas checked.

The OEM Windows disk from the manufacturer-, Dell, HP etc. get of course do this even in the BIOS.  Dell OEM Windows on a non Dell motherboard, which I thought would do, would lead to shop for an another Windows Installer.

This is how Windows mysteriously know material changes without connection to Microsoft.com - the BIOS chip.

Beware of sellers on ebay with a still sealed OEM disc, but with a touch of product USED or not.   OEM disc will work as it clearly says right on it:

"Relocation... CD '. Don't use this software to reinstall the operating system on a computer (mfgr)... For distribution only with a new computer (mfgr). »

Would appreciate help from the members of the Forum.

The drive on my Acer Z5610 is overheating and stop unexpectedly. I bought a new 1 TB WD HARD drive. I tried loading the Acer recovery CD 3 I initially created in order to load all applications touch etc, but received a message to say that I got at loading Windows. The computer came pre loaded with Windows 7 Home Premium, so I did not all Windows disks. My question is: How can I transfer Windows 7 on my new HARD drive so I can begin to rebuild the PC?

I think that you have created the driver & application backup, if this is the case & * if the old HDD is still detected & boots you could create a factroy restore discs, if not then you might even get to store.acer.com.

How can I do it without problem?

Windows XP cannot be transferred to a new computer that has significantly different material compared to the old computer.  It can only be installed correctly from scratch as a "clean install", assuming that the new computer has hardware supported by the older Windows XP operating system.

  • Transfer to a Bachelor of windows 7 to a new computer

I would like to know if it is possible to transfer a Bachelor of windows 7 to a new computer and how difficult it is to do.

Information to help with my question:

    • The current computer that has the license of windows 7 is an Asus G74S laptop
    • I upgraded the version of windows to Windows 7 Home laptop to Windows 7 Professional with a product code and iso provided by microsoft with their students and students.
    • The product ID listed for this version of Windows 7 is not an OEM, and I can post the complete product if necessary just to be 100% sure ID.
    • I always have the product code for the license, that I intend to transer.

Any help with this would be very useful.

You must first return the laptop for Windows 7 Home Premium, then you will have the right to transfer the license of Windows 7 Professional:

New computers that come pre-installed with Windows often have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.

    ------------------------------------

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

Once you have done this, you can install or upgrade to another computer using the Windows 7 Professional license, you may need to reactivate by phone, because it was already in use:

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

    (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

  • How can I transfer a license of Windows 7 on a new computer? Step by step please

Hey guys, I just build my first computer and I don't want to use the HARD drive from my old computer to the new. I was wondering if there is some way I can transfer my Windows 7 license from the old computer to my new computer? I would be grateful if someone could answer with step by step instructions. Thanks a bunch!

    Hello!

If you have an OEM of Windows license (which is pre-installed when you purchased your PC) on the old computer and want to use it on a new computer (PC with another motherboard), it is not possible.

If you have a retail license (if you bought separately):

1 note your product key: use a program like Nirsoft Produkey to get
     http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/product_cd_key_viewer.html
    2. on the old PC uninstall product key:
Start-> Accessories-> right click on command prompt and select "Run as Administrator"
slmgr.vbs /dlv---> to display the Activation ID for the installed version of Windows.
slmgr /upk ---> where is the extracted string in the message box that appears in the previous step
    3. on the new PC use this product key during installation or change it after installation
in the product key from the old computer with:
slmgr IPK , where is your product key.

  • Windows easy transfer. I can't use transfer to move files to the new computer

I used windows easy transfer to back up my files to an external hard drive before doing a clean install of windows 7, XP.

I am unable to find any "windows easy transfer" files on the hard drive for transfer to the new computer.

ALL the files from my old computer are there and I am able to access it from the external hard drive.

Please tell me there is an easy way to transfer files and I don't have to do it manually.

What is the error message when you try to restore files in Windows 7?

Also, did you really use the Windows Easy Transfer Wizard to back up your files or did you use the built in the files and Settings Transfer wizard in Windows XP? If you used the files and Settings Transfer Wizard, that won't work no.

You must install Windows Easy Transfer on Windows XP, save the files as one. MIG file on your external drive, restore it on the Windows 7 computer. See for instructions:

Also, it is strictly recommended that new windows should be installed SSD not transferred again, but how do I do it?

with the new system UEFI/BIOS it is looks too difficult for me... There is no installation of Alienware Microsoft Windows 8 Disk in the package comes...
If I can get it? And then, he of course it will work correctly in the UEFI system

Have tryied: MINI TOOL PARTITION WIZARD, it shows all containing (5 partitions) completely has been copied from 1 TB of disk and mounted on the SSD 64 GB

Thank you in advance in this area!

The license of Windows 8, my understanding, is the UEFI. So I recommend that you ask the disc from Dell.
