  I'm evaluate OPA for one of my clients in order to replace the authority of Haley integrated Siebel 8.x. As a first step, I would like to know if we can get the values of the profile and "Calculated fields" attributes of Siebel to OPA to be evaluated in the logic of the rules. Second, can we use OPA to run different validations of Siebel BC events such as BC_PreSetFieldValue, BC_SetFieldValue, BC_PreWriteRecord? My concern is that more than once, the values that must be validated are 'in flight' and not stored in the Siebel database yet. How would such be values passed Siebel OPA?

  In regards to calculated fields - as long as fields are defined on a business component you should be able to include them in the rules of the takeover bid.

  For events such as BC_PreSetFieldValue, BC_SetFieldValue, BC_PreWriteRecord you can define, evaluate the rules against an active business object which will include the changes until they are saved in the database.

  My requirement is when % ActualAmt and Comm is entered then automatically CommAmount should be calculated on the basis of ActualAmt and Comm %, in the second case, when I enter ActualAmt and CommAmount Comm % should be calculated on the basis ActualAmt and Comm %.

When I enter the values under "Option 3" or "Option 4", the total at the bottom do not fill or repopulate until I have enter another value elsewhere in the form. " For example, if I come home office costs of $ 500 to the title of the "Option 3", the "Monthly Total" and "Restraint" field auto fills instantly, while the 'Total to start Service' does not work until I have to enter a different value in the form.   If you don't want to show any decimal places, this means generally that you want to round down to an integer. To round to the nearest integer, you could modify a single line of script in the Format:

  AFNumber_Format (0, 0, 0, 0, "$", true);

  and the same for the script of the hit. Note that this does not change the actual value of the field, it doesn't change what is displayed in the field. This is important if the value of the field is used in a calculation or exported, since it won't be the same as what is displayed. To change the value of actual field to round to an integer, it is usually best to use a custom validation script.

  Having a problem with the application and SSO level calculations. Here's what's happening. I have an application with some elements of application level which must be calculated (say an identification number of a certain type) in order for my projects of security clearance at the level of the work page. I'm having a severe setback when people try to access a specific page in the application vs. the public home page.   One option that might work is to initialize the necessary application objects for authorizations in a process of "Message authentication" instead of a calculation of "new instance".

I also tried to use a different wireless router configuration with a radius with PEAP server and that does not work either. The server radius authenticated the user, but the message on the computer remained the same: "domain.local 2 unauthenticated.

  Each way in which users are able to access the resources, but this message is driving me crazy. We do not get this message on all XP machines.

  Client side, I tried to turn on the discovery of the network, joined the field, turn off any firewall (only using windows), updated drivers NETWORK card, update the firmware on the router, etc..

  Am I missing something?

• calculation fields do not work on the web

  I created a pdf to a word doc form.  I tested it and all fields of computing work very well, but then I'm going to post on our Web site and all calculation fields do not work.  The formatting in the field appears as well, which means that when I created the form to fill out that I made the fields of theses to represent a monetary unit (e.g. $5.00) and when I post on the web it appears simply as a number (5) and nothing in this column adds up.

  No, you can't get them to work on any browser. Chrome has the most support for PDF and JavaScript forms, but it is not as comprehensive as Acrobat/Reader. Consider educate users to directly open the form in Adobe Reader.
