automatic load balancing
I currently have much more is it possible to have the host to migrate to the other host is say memory or cpu on a host when it reaches a set limit.
the two hosts have access to the shared storage. ESXi 5.5 vcenter.
Thank you
You can set alarms that are triggered at certain levels and then manually balance because you do not have the function of DRS.

What is the swing (APLB) automatic loading of performance?
Hi all
Do you want to tell me what is the equallogic array APLB? I read APLB 'eql configuration Guide.
and how to configure?
Thank you.
Take a look at TR1070 - EqualLogic PS Series Architecture: load balancers. (do not know if there is a more recent)
APLB means 'Automatic load balancing Performance' and not MPLB (manual). There is therefore no configuration is necessary or possible. You need a table.
APLB manages the distribution of pages (blocks) within a pool. This load balancer works mainly based on latency settings. If APLB detects that a pool table's unevenly more workload to cope will take care of him, as well as when it detects latencies high on a member of the pool (> 20ms?).
IIRC, the BEAK and the NLB comes first and over the years, he has been huge improments.
Kind regards

Load Balancing does not not on 2911
Hello people,
I have some difficulty to operate the Load Balance on my 2911.
I have followed the editing on this site:
http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/Tech/tk648/tk361/technologies_configuration_example09186a0080950834.shtml
and APARENTLY it works, but not in reality, because I see packets using a NAT IPS bot thru, but when I check on the interfaces I see we're not receive / send anything.
Background:
G0/0, I have one ISP, other 1/G0, G0/2 my network.

Hello
Yes here you only have a single default route installed (one from the DHCP server) so it can't NAT on the other interface as it can route on this one.
Change your configuration like this:
no ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 track GigabitEthernet0/0 123
no ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 200.122.102.1 254
IP route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 dhcp
IP route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 200.122.102.1 254
Now if you want to follow the first route look at this document:
http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/iOS/dial/configuration/guide/dia_rel_stc_rtg_bckup.html#wp1065528

Load balancing ASA question - what IP I do direct clients too?
I have 2 5520 with SSLVPN 50 user on each license. I want to use the VPN load-balancing feature. Must I send users to the address IP of Cluster? The documentation is not clear on this point.
Thank you
Justin
That is right. You should have the VPN to connect on the LBS, not individual IP addresses cluster IP. Captain ASA will listen to connection requests to the IP cluster LB and based on the load either accepting the connection or automatically redirect to one of the ASAs Eve in the cluster. It must all be transparent to the user VPN connection.

VPN3000 Load Balancing - synchronization of the Configuration
I have found information on the configuration of hubs for load-balancing and realized that. I can't find any information on how the Member devices keep their configurations in sync. Is it automatic or is it necessary to update all members manually when changes are made?
Dennis,
Automatic synchronization of the configuration on the hubs is not possible. You must manually synchronize the configs.
See you soon

Client based in 12 G load balancing
We have a JDBC configuration against an address scan with client load balancing enabled.
Example:
JDBC:Oracle:Thin:@(Description=(LOAD_BALANCE=on)(Address=(Protocol=TCP)(Host=xxxxxxxxxxxx.de)(port=xxxx))(CONNECT_DATA=(service_name=XXXXXX)))
What I understand of Diference between Client-side and Server Load Balancing If you do not use the server load balancing, you can bypass by connecting the service that identifies a particular node of RAC name.
My question is, if you have a connection pool object this configuration and if the name service maps node to goes down, what happens to the connection connection pool?
Issue 1) Don't scan address switches to the available according to the name of the service node, then the JDBC driver on the client must file all embusked connections and reconnect the available node? or is all the agnostic client failure of node on and all the old connections available in the pool are available for use?
The client side or server balancing side basically works for the same purpose. The difference is that you do not have all the customers to reconfigure then change something in the environment, such as adding or removing a node such as the side server.
Answer your question...
If you mean the shared server architecture by connection pool, the shared server session connected to node 1 will die and everyone shares this session should log. Failover is not automatic, you must specify the failover clause in the JDBC or TNS connect string:
TEST_TAF =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)
(HOST = rac - scan.example.com) (PORT = 1525))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVICE_NAME = test)
(FAILOVER_MODE = (TYPE = SESSION) (METHOD = Basic))
) )
Or if you use failover and load balancing services you set failover described below:
for 12 c: srvctl $ add orcl db-test - oel6vm1 favorite-available oel6vm2 - tafpolicy BASE - failovermethod SESSION service service - failoverretry 5 - failoverdelay 60
for 11g: $ srvctl add service d orcl if test - r oel6vm1 - oel6vm2 BASIC EI SESSION m - z 5 AW 60
Was what you mean?

The implementation of hyperion IR application load balancing while 2 servers point to a DB?
There is a DB production. Some time need to configure the load balancer for Hyperion interactive report achieve high availability.
As know there are a lot of method to implement load balancing, want to know if
given two machines virtual (each of them has its own application server), and two of them going to point to the same DB via shared Assembly called/U01 player.
After the official documentations of oracle documented, there are scarce resources can refer to, any who knew this case of configuration before?
Hello
We have implemented this type of solution:
(1) server 1: install and configure in usual way. Better to use different patterns for each product.
When you configure Reporting and analysis framework services give repository location as shared drive location.
(2) server 2: Installation of any product that has been installed in the server 1. While configure the database for the shared services registry point to detail diagram 1 server, it automatically configure the database for all the other remaining products.
When you configure Reporting and analysis framework services give location of the repository as a shared drive which gave in Server 1.
Make sure that the Shared disk is accessible from both servers.
You can deploy applications weblogic Server from Server 2 by giving details of server 1. ensure that the weblogic Server 1 service must always be upward and running for Server 2 workspace to work.
So if we set up the web server in both servers, then you must have load balancer and configure logical web address to this server for load balancing.
If you configure only in one of the server, then this workspace server that url will act as load swing url.the problem with this is always THAT OSH must be running or workspace url will not work
hope you understood.

Hyperion Planning11.1.2.3. Server load balancing
We will install and configure Hyperion planning in the cluster environment. After you have configured the servers planning successfully how to implement load balancing. Do we need to use hardware or software load balancing. I have no idea on balancers load. We must use to configure logical address that points to the load balancer server but do not know how the load balancing server must be? Please notify.
Install all along planning to Server1 products and configure them.
Go to Server2, install only the planning and deploy using the same database.
WebLogic will create 2 (Plannin0, planning of the depenses1) servers in single Cluster (using the Round robin algorithm).
Thus, at the time of access automatically weblogic will redirect requests internally.
Thank you
Mady

vCO 5.5 high availability / load balancer configuration
I do a planning for a new deployment of vCO 5.5 and I would like to take advantage of the new features for high availability, but documentation seems to be a little lacking in Department of load balancer. I hope someone knows the answers to the following questions using zero in on possible configurations for load balancing options:
Calls to instances of vCO they state or can I use a setting of type stateless round robin for the configuration of lb or what do I need to support sessions?
Is there a health control end point which I can query the load balancer to automatically remove service instances in a configuration active / active failure? If there isn't a specific is a good audit can be done to create a service to act as a health check?
Did he already works with a configuration similar and willing to share their experiences?
Hello
You can read the following article which explains how to configure Nginx as the load balancer. I hope it's useful.

Hyperic HA does support load balancing?
Hello
We try to implement architecture Hyperic high availability based on JBoss HA and distributed cache EHCache. Our version is 3.2.3 EE.
The cluster configuration is quite simple with the HQ High Availability Guide.
Thanks for this guide and the esayness of the configuration of the feature!
My first question was, the agent, what server IP should I use? I put with node 1 and other agents with node 2
= > the synchronization between nodes works very well.
Therefore, I have some additional questions.
1 / can I have a single point of entry for agents with some load balancing and failover capability?
For example, if an agent is sending information with the Node1 and this node breaks down or the server is restarted for maintenance purposes, the agent information will be lost.
2 / same question for the application, can I have a single point of entry URL with some load balancing and failover capability?
Thanks for your help.
Nicolas.
Post edited by: njmnHQ Enterprise HA for failover, but do not support for load balancing. You will need before your HQ multiple servers with a load (software/hardware) balancer which will relay agent to a live server. The load balancer must be staged all agents in a single node of 'master '. If this server is unavailable, another server will automatically become the master node and agents should be redirected to this node.

Two shared the Application layer without load balancer
Hi all
I created the system of Application of layer two without the load balancer.
EBS: 12.1.3 DB: 11.2
I have two URLS:
https://XYZ:8002/OA_HTML/APPSLocalLogin.jsp
https://ABC:8002/OA_HTML/APPSLocalLogin.jsp
I run the auctoconfig on the last node abc. When I try to access the https://xyz:8002/OA_HTML/APPSLocalLogin.jsp, it automatically redirects to https://abc:8002/OA_HTML/APPSLocalLogin.jsp
If autoconfig on xyz last execution, https://abc:8002/OA_HTML/APPSLocalLogin.jsp URL automatically redirects to https://xyz:8002/OA_HTML/APPSLocalLogin.jsp.
I know in 11i is the behavior, but according to my understanding in R12 this shouldn't ' e be the case because another application works very well.
Concerning

Thank you

See the connection to the server, load balancer &; physical workstations
We deploy a VMWare view environment and we use a combination of physical and virtual desktops.
When install us the Agent to view physical workstations with the /V "VDM_VC_MANAGED_Agent = 0" settings. " This allows to specify the Server Manager to view to record the workstation during installation.
So far we've just been specifying a connection view servers and everything was fine. But now we are getting our deployment and we want to ensure that we have the appropriate redundancy built in.
If the server connection view that physical workstation is registered during installation fails, is grave view agent automatically knows to start watching one of the replica servers?
If it isn't... We are keen to implement a load balancer between the workstations phyiscal on connection view servers. Are there problems with it?
I found many articles balancer redundancy and load for VMWare View, but none don't talk specifically a load balancer between physical work stations with the agent of the view and connection servers.
Take a look in the registry on the physical Machine, he must list all available connection brokers it.

ESXi - NIC teaming/load balancing
If I use two network cards on the back of my ESXi server that provide load balancing or is it just for the failover?
Each card NETWORK must have its own IP address?
I have to manually team network cards or is it an automatic process?
Or ESXi provides only the load balancing, as appropriate...?
If one of my virtual machines use it of full 1 Gigabit, another VM connection will use the other NETWORK adapter connected? To add to the reply by Dave - it's technically not not balancing load even if it is called VMware - the best description is load balancing - type three methods Load Balansing ESXi offers are:
- Port according to ID - this the method by default when you have 2 or more physical NIC connected to a virtual switch. The VM traffic is realized on a physical NETWORK card based on the VMs virtual port ID and is incremented in the style of round robin. So if you have 2 NICs physical network, the first drop of will traffic VMs that the first NIC, the second VM shuts down to the second NIC, third comes out first NETWORK card and operating system on - host ESXi does not resemble the traffic so if VMs 1,3,5 are heavy network users they will go on the same NETWORK adapter even if the second NETWORK card can be totally unused
- Address based MAC - based similar to port, but the physical NETWORK adapter is selected according to the MAC address of virtual machines
- IP hash database - the physical NETWORK adapter is selected based on the starting and destination IP address - so if a virtual machine connect to several IP addresses that traffic will be disttibuted on all physical network cards - note this will require LACp be configured on the physical spend this ost ESXi connects to

Hello
I have a new server ESXi 4.1. I currently have a cable connected to one of the two network adapters. When I put in place the management network, I selected the connected NETWORK card and left the other disconnect and deselect (via console settings directly on the physical machine). If I look at the network through vSphere Client cards, that's what I see: http://pix.sonhult.se/vmnics.png.
What will happen if I connect another cable to my second NETWORK card? Will it set a new IP address for this NETWORK adapter? Could I have the load balancing or redundancy somehow?
Thanks in advance!

Once you have plugged the network cable to your physical switch, you must assign to the vSwitch too. Once you do that the workload of the virtual machine and the management port will - by default - load-balanced in alternate way, which means that the virtual ports are distributed on the physical network interface cards.
There is no need to assign an IP address any. An IP address is assigned only for the management port and the virtual machines within the guest OS.
Could I have the load balancing or redundancy somehow?
Yes. As mentioned above, this will happen automatically once you attach a second NETWORK adapter to the vSwitch.
See http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/virtual_networking_concepts.pdf for more details.

Load balancing and replication between two ESX servers
This point is covered in another post last month, but I want to assure you that I am
erase before ordering anything. We run a VMware
Server (ESX Server 3.5 Enterprise version). I have about 12 VM
running on the server. The server is connected to via fiber channel to
a Clariion drive Bay. We backup each virtual computer inside the virtual machine, not outside in
it.
I want to buy an additional VMware Server which
provide redundancy. The second server VMware will also point the
Bay of same discs (shared storage). It will store some VM as well.
What
I want to do is to have two servers balance between them.
Also, I want that there return replication while is a server
Dies, it will be responsible for all virtual machines.
What I have
read, we need to use a combination of VMware HA, DRS and VMotion to make
all it - OK? I intend to buy another license of the VI3 enterprise as well as a permit for VirtualCenter Foundation. Finally, if I have company for both servers ESX licenses and
VirtualCenter, which gives me VMware HA, DRS and VMotion
capacity? I appreciate any guidance on this.
I don't think you can automatically load the balance between the two boxes. the shared storage ensures guests / VM have the current data available. No actual replication necessary.
Just take your Hardest hit of VM and split them between the two hosts.
On VMotion? It is much easier to run just a host with a failure to another identical host. I have not attemptied it in any other way quite a few facilities. Do you think that your host is running out of gas? I used to think that as well, but I'm surprised how much any given host can be loaded up without experiencing consitantly performance problems. If they are windows? You can check how the VM is performing pretty easy with the Windows performance tools. All this with low end Iscsi San, I can only imagine how fiber of rocks on the performance.
