Original title: How can I, as an administrator, turn on automatic updates, whenever I try, I get an error message saying that automatic updates has been disabled by the administrator. I didn't do it, then?
Question stands as is.
Hello
1. have you made any changes to the computer before the show?
2. What antivirus application is installed on the computer?
3. What are the different user accounts on the computer?
This problem occurs if Windows Update has been disabled by one of the following settings:· Group Policy
· System policy· RegistryI suggest you follow these methods and check.
Method 1: Perform the clean boot and try to install the updates.
To do this, follow the steps in this link:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353
NOTE: Once you check the functionality, follow the suggestions under steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state.
Method 2: Try to turn on the auto update by following the steps in the link below.
How to configure automatic updates by using Group Policy or of registry settings
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/328010
Registry warning: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 322756
How to back up and restore the registry in Windows
Method 3: Turn off the antivirus application and try to download the updates and check.
Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
Method 4: Perform a full scan of the computer using the following antivirus applications.
Microsoft Safety Scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Malicious software removal tool: http://www.microsoft.com/security/pc-security/malware-removal.aspx
Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.
I hope this helps!

Since the last automatic update from Microsoft, I get the message on Outlook & Excel I need to activate the product. When I try to activate I tells me it is already activated, they have been running fine since 2001 when the Office Proffesional was legally purchased.
The pop-up with activation message has two buttons, "Remind me later" and the button "more..." which seems to send me around in circles when it is followed.Hi Dudlion,

Original title: Windows updates
Is the function of automatic update of Windows found in the use of control panel of your compensation for the use of the Internet from my ISP? If so, how? In addition, how to hide an update, I don't want to? For example, I use (and I'm happy with) Windows Internet Explorer (v7), but receive reminders to update update to Internet Explorer v9, which I don't want.
Is there a way to prevent Windows Update for sending this reminder in the future?

When I try to upgrade Lightroom 6.3 (perpetual license) to Lightroom 6.4 (perpetual license), I can't compete the upgrade process and receive a notice of error Code U44M1P7. It is my understanding that I have to uninstall Lightroom 6.3 and then download Lightroom 6.4. Am I wrong? If I'm not mistaken, what is the address of the Adobe site to download Lightroom 6.4? Thank you for your help.
You can use the link below. If you uninstall you will need to download LR6; then download the 6.4 update. Re-install is often recommend if there is update problems. Otherwise, you can try the update from another account of users with administrator privileges and then switch back to your normal user account.

Can not see address of the Web site, FF29.0
I tried to customize my toolbar when I noticed that I had managed to remove details of the address of the Web site, I can see it is no longer. What do I need to reinstall?
It is normally not possible to remove the bar of address exactly because of this kind of situation. It was only possible to remove it because you have the add-on installed restaurateur theme Classic.
- Right-click on a zone empty of the tab bar and select Customize.
- Click the defaults button.

Whenever I visited the MS Update site, I was prompted to download the SP1 for Office 2007. I always ignored this suggestion because I run Office 2003. I don't know why I would even be asked to provide this update unless I have versions Express in Visual c#, VB, and Developer Web loaded on my computer. These applications need this update? Should I start the update, or I might do something that is not compatible with my Office 2003?
Thank you

Please help - Virus? Can not enable automatic updates and blue screens during the virus scan
Hi, I think I might have a virus. Here are the symptoms:
- I can't activate the automatic updates
- MS Security Essentials blue-screens in an analysis complete (I can do a quick scan)
- I was able to run a quick scan of the Scanner for MS without problem.
- When you open Internet Explorer I always get "stopped unexpectedly" and it gives me a choice to go to the previous page or home page
- I have AVG Antivirus but it was blue-screening during a scan, so I uninstalled and installed MS Security Essentials
- I ran a chkdsk /r and no errors not found on my hard drive
I searched the internet and I tried a few suggestions, but so far I have not made progress.
I am running XP SP3 and I don't remember disabling the automatic updates.
I am open to any suggestions, just some guidelines at this stage.

Sound/audio does not work after automatic update of Windows 8 for the July 12, 2014
Solving audio problems do not detect a problem.
When I go to the control panel > hardware & sound > playback, right-click on the device, I get this message:
"This device is used by another application. Please close all devices... "
However, I restarted the laptop with no other applications running and I still get the above message.
It must be linked to the recent update of W8 for 2 days ago that my audio has always worked fine until here. Without having to reinstall all the software, what I can do, as I have not changed anything other than subscribe to automatic update of Windows? (It makes me want to stop the update btw, if the updates affect the normal performance of my laptop).
A new update for Windows 8 rises to fix this audio problem?
Welcome to any other measure to solve the problem? -Many thanks.
It worked for me, you can't find it on your hard drive, you must go to > Control Panel > programs > programs and features-> installed updates. under the microsoft windows list, locate those added on July 12, 2014. RightClick > uninstall the "update for Microsoft Windows (KB2962407)" (let others, simply uninstall it) it invite you to reboot, and you should have sound after reboot. "
hope this helps, I did not half an hour.
