Automatic update of text in master pages
I don't really know how to explain this, but here is my best shot. I have a file which contains about 8 models to choose from master page. Each page has the same border information, but the body is different in each of them. Now I have to update all the information border manually for each page, but I was wondering if there was a way to fill one of the pages the and that this information will automatically fill other master pages, I built.
You can base one master on another and all objects on the base controller will appear on the masters based on so unless you overrided and delete it. It is a fairly common way to organize things. Start with the most basic level of Master object - can - be simply folios, and other masters of base on that and on the other. Common elements are then published on the page of basic level and automatically change the other and on pages based on each of them.

The blocks of text and master pages
You have a question about the layouts and master pages.
If I build a file to have a left and right master page. I have a text box to the Center which has a different position, based on the page being left or right facing.
When I first add pages to the document, all right. If I change the order of the pages in the text position box so wrong.
I tried "Snap to Guide" and using "bearings commented.
Any suggestions?
BAD advice, Rik.
Reapply a master page reaffirms all main objects behind those who were previously substituted. The same thing happens when you have facing pages and add or remove an odd number of pages - all pages that change of camp is rebuilt with new frameworks of unreleased masters for executives who have been manually replaced. Text blocks which were published automatically by placing text into it without a manual control must first swap positions, so it seems that the OP publishes masters executives before adding the text.
A way to minimize the impact would be to allow the adjustment of the layout before adding pages, as long as managers are aligned with guides. You will always get the second image behind, but if she has no line, filling or content may not be a problem. In the show The other hand, if you publish a master frames before entering the text, one wonders why they are on the master page in the first place.

Blocks of text in master pages
I put a block of text or any other image on a master page and it will appear on all normal pages. However I can't use any of these images on normal pages, such as putting the text in them or a picture. I need to create a text block and others on all normal pages each time. I tried clicking on the master text frame in the new Document menu, but it makes no difference. What is the point of putting images on a master page if they cannot subsequently be used? They are intended just to display things like page numbers or chapter heads? I must admit that I am new to ID of Quark.
On the 'normal' page, to release a master page item, you click on it with the black arrow while pressing Ctrl + Shift (Mac: Cmd + Shift).
You can now add text to the text frame.
The advantage of this is that if you change the position or size etc. of the text frame on the master page, all of these images on normal pages will change as well in the same way.
If, however, you add text to the image on the master page, then all the blocks on normal pages you have overridden and text added to manually will not change.

Related texts master pages rendered badly in the new Muse Relsase February 2016
Installed the new Muse February 2016 exit 22/02/2016. Only on the Master pages, I have style of the texts that are RELATED to other places on my site. When I SAW in Muse, everything's fine, then when I PUBLISH to Adobe Business Catalyst, some of these texts of Master Pages only are not displayed correctly, specifically now appear in verses BLACK color that I place originally, which in this case was a RED color. Where is the problem in the Muse or Adobe Business Catalyst?
Hello

Alternating the sides of footers for chapter use master pages
Hi, I am creating a pdf with Chapter Book 1 appearing in all the footers on the left page (in Chapter 1) and securities of Chapter 2 in the footers on the right side of all pages (in Chapter 2). So far, I have only one master page, a master of two pages with blocks of text on two pages. After that I did this master, I dropped my text and it autoflowed. I then did a second master page based on A master called B-Chapter 2, with chapter markers on the right side instead of the left. I then applied this master to the relevant pages, and it went well. However, now that I did it, I have more control over text blocks in Chapter 2 by using master pages. What have I done wrong? I would like to have layout as described, but still be able to adjust the size of all blocks of text in all the chapters, using the master page text frames. Is this possible? Basically I want to alternate the secondary section appear on the titles, but retain control of executives text via master pages. Appreciate any thoughts.
Object styles can not control the dimensions of the image. The good news, however, is that if managers of it line up on the cues you can activate the page layout setting BEFORE you change the page size and the images are resized automatically.

Blocks of text on the Pages of body 'Buried' after update of the Page Master
I have a background full screen on my main page (on the left in this case) that integrates static graphics and borders for certain master pages. I use the borders/boxes for NOTE and END of text on some pages. Blocks of text on these master pages do not overlap. I added text blocks with my icons and the text of the note to these body Pages that I need them. All great so far.
I decided to update the background chart on page master to change colors, etc.. All files are linked.
Now, with funds master page updated, these pages where I added text blocks are 'buried' as on a sublayer. I checked that my Master Page background images are "sent back". I tried to wear my text boxes at the front on the Pages of my body, but they are still hidden. Interesting as the anchored frame (the icon), I attached to each NOTE or TIP point appears, but the text is not. Also, I can see and select the contours of the block... the text is hidden. If I drag the fame to another part of the document (for example, on top of another Master Page text frame sank, while the text is displayed.
There is no image on the master page to the enclosed area. I wonder if that's what I need trouble. Just add a backstory (not attached flow)?
Advice before I go and screw something else?
It is what it is supposed to look like (1). Image (2) what I mean now.
Thanks Arnis,
It was the property of skin! How simple... I didn't have on this subject.
Solved!
To answer you question, however... my approach for the construction of this new model was:
- I created a graph from bottom (full page) to contain the image of brand and imported/positioned.
- I placed the header and a footer frame and filled with content.
- I placed the blocks of text with streams (as a single stream in this document).
I'm not dropping blocks of text for the content of the body... except for these tips and remarks. I don't want to use a workflow for this because I never know where they'll pop up and I want to be able to (position) specifically on each page. Is this a good approach?
Yes, I'm aware of the continuous line down the block of text NOTE you mentioned. Originally, I had all the text within the limits. When I have updated master, all offbeat pages (only in blocks of text body page with notes/tips). I repositioned and they flow very well now.
Thank you very much for your help continues with it. Why these problems always pop nitpciky - up to date - not when things are slow!

Everything goes well with the text in my master page header in Muse, but when you are viewing my site online, the text is reformatted and a biased. I contacted tech support, and they told me that there is a problem with Business Catalyst, they are working on right now. The workaround is to open your site in Muse, click 'File', choose 'Properties of the Site' and under "Advanced", uncheck «Enable in the browser Edition.» Once you publish the site again, the problem should disappear. I'm curious to hear if anyone else has had this problem and if this workaround is successful or if you know other solutions.
Hi Rebecca,.
If you are publishing to Business Catalyst, go to file > properties of the Site in Muse. The 'Advanced' Panel will turn off IBE. We will address this problem in an update very soon.
Kind regards

multiple automatic master page assignments in an InDesign document
I got quite a request of my client, and I don't know if this is possible. We are working on a multiple-chapter, each chapter as its own document, manual. They want what he delivered under a pdf print and interactive pdf. So far so good.
Now comes the part that I can't quite wrap my head around. They want different templates for each type of pdf and want only a delivered InDesign file. The masters will be probably different headers (created in Illustrator) and elements assigned. They also talk about the different margins, and I hope that they decide against it.
I pronounce the InDesign files, but also print and interactive files. The client wants something that she can work well with in the future.
So, my questions:
(1) is there an easy way to change the Master pages in a document without changing the presentation? Perhaps using a script any? Is it possible to use a book .indb file to achieve this? I really don't want to have to reassign the master pages
(2) I found that pages in the documents does not always block for text frames in master pages, especially the first in threaded frames. Any ideas why this happens? When I put the text to the second, third, fourth etc pages they lock to the master. This is the first image I have trouble with. So if I can't solve this problem, so I have to also make sure that all text blocks are always aligned correctly.
I hope I gave enough information. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
I don't know exactly what's there for tutorials, but I suspect that if do a search of conditional text in InDesign you'll find more than one.
My workflow has not yet necessary to alternative layouts (come close once on a brochure for page American and European sizes, but he managed with two files because the customer was still CS3 and did not want to update), but I probably strongly consider if the customer insists on two layouts. If everything that they change the graphic and you use conditional text you can produce one, change the conditions and the other output. There is no move to do something manual along the line here.

Using a little code on Master Page to fill the page names in the text box?
I was wondering if Muse has any codes that you might put in a box of text on the main Page so that all pages using this master to have their name filled in automatically on this page (e.g. a Page title - about us, Contact, etc.) instead of manually add a text box on each page in a particular space. The short code would make reference in the name of the page on the Site Plan and fill in this text on the page.
I tried searching using different formulations, but have not found solutions to this particular problem.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
You can use getfunction to pull up the page title and display it on the page, if it is only on display name of current page on the body of the page, insert this code into html master page properties:
