  Oddly enough, when you go to www.toshibaplaces.com you are automatically redirected to www.symbalooplaces.com with a nice interface and already available in several languages.

  But it is unclear if this redirection means that Toshiba Places would be replaced by Symbaloo and I have not found much info on internet right now on this new project.

  On my Satellite M60-135 (Toshiba original Setup) Windows XP Sound Mixer shows a slider of level setting for the drive but it doesn t work.
  I can drag the level control or may mark the mute control for CD player, but it has no effect.

  I tried to disable digital playback in the device driver for the DVD-RAM device but it doesn't change anything on the level control.

  Is this a general problem of the Satellite M60, is a specific defect of my M60 or can it be fixed by updating all the drivers?

  Believe me that this is not a problem or any kind of fault. As you know CD players used on desktop computers have audio out port. This level control Configurator will be used just for them. Portable CD or DVD player has this audio separated on the port and that this option cannot be used. The same situation is on my Tecra M1.

  In addition, it is a tool of Microsoft and Toshiba has no influence on it. As you know there is no OS designed only for laptops and this option is that it can not be used.

  Hi Ben,

  I'm not aware of any software specific to Toshiba, but you can still use the Microsoft CHKDSK utility to scan and repair your hard disk sectors. You can access this by right-clicking on the drive icon in my computer-> properties-> tools.

  I have the problem with Toshiba Software Installer for Win 7 on Satellite L750-1MT (PSK30E-02T002B3) with no preinstalled operating system.
  I do the following:

  1. install Windows 7 x 64 SP1.
  2 Installing the LAN driver (device was not recognized by Windows 6) (downloaded from [http://se.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/supportMyProduct.do?service=SE&LNG=26&userAction=S MP_RESULTS_PAGE & partNumber = PSK30E-02T002B3 & serialNumber = & USER_ACTION = Serial % 20number])
  3. install all updates of Microsoft Windows
  4. run the installer of the software Toshiba for Win 7 - it installs two drivers and then asks to restart.

  Here is the log for the first test (win7update.log) file:

  Have you tried to do an update of Toshiba Assist? A new version and all the other stuff from Toshiba which you can find here:

  Maybe the update will solve the problem.

  On command buttons, I think you need to configure iTunes as standard Media Player and select all the files to iTunes playlist.

  I m the Satellite P500 owner too and it's really great machine, isn t it? I like it. My Toshiba best ever.
  My machine is preinstalled original Toshiba recovery image and it works without any problems so I put t want to change anything.

  Back to your question. I assume that you have a few reasons why you want to use the Ultimate version then you should try to clean OS install. Before you anything create recovery DVDs. Make two copies.
  After that make what you can do with your laptop all you used to because if you want to have the factory settings, again you can use created the recovery disc and install original recovery image.
  After recovery of registered OS image will help and you will not be able to start the installation of HARD drive recovery then please create restore DVD.

  Installing Win7? I have the European model, and I will send exact installation order list. There may be small differences compared to the model of the AU, but the principle remains the same.

  After buying the new Satellite A200 lappy I am disappointed to see this SLOW top-bar with options to adjust the brightness, zoom utilitly and so on. So, I decided to upgrade the entire Toshiba software and installed package "Value package" form Toshiba America site (transfers better download).

  Since then, top bar reacted very quickly but the notification made by key by pressing [Fn] + F6 for example disappeared! I can't adjust the brightness using my fav. FN combinations.

  Can you give me some idea of what could be the problem?

  The same notebook here! You are absolutely right. With the factory settings these flash cards are moving very slowly. This has been resolved with the latest version of VAP. Before installing the new version uninstall the system.

  One more thing: Please use European site downloads only if you have a European model for laptop. I agree with you that the download is pretty slow, but we have no other choice.

  When you download the VAP make sure you install the correct version (No button model 3-button or 6 button model).

  I m not very well why it s are not on the Australian page but if you need the drivers, you can try using the driver from the page of European driver from Toshiba as well

  There are a series of Satellite A500 PSAR9E which is similar (or even?).
  In my opinion the Win 7 drivers should work too.

  Welcome them
