Average text possible?

Is this possible in number in order to get an average based on text values.

For example, in each line in a single column, I like text values: single, married, divorced, etc...

Can I get a result unique back to the text format for the average text data stored in this column.

A2 = Single

A3 = married

A4 = Single

A5 = divorced

A6 = Single

i.e. the total majority of data = Single

The AVERAGEA function assigns 0 to the text values in a range, your average of these unique column name strings will be 0.

  • Automatic scrolling of text possible in combination with the text form field

    Hello

    We would like to know if it is possible to align the text automatically with a form field that can contain different amounts of characters.

    For example:

    We have a form with a text field for currency at the end of a paragraph of text. The period to mark the end of the sentence should always be printed just behind the currency field. For now, the comma character has a fixed place, just outside the scope of the currency field. It doesn't look good when the currency field contains only 2 characters (due to the white space).

    Is there a solution to this problem?

    Thank you.

    It is only possible if the time text is also part of a text field, preferably the same one. You can use a format or script validation to automatically add this custom text to text from the user, assuming that it is a fixed value or you can know in advance. If it is a value entered by the user, then it becomes almost impossible to do it gently.

  • You are looking for a solution of box text possible 'tabs '.

    I do some forms that require users to enter a little information through text boxes.  The problem is if, a bit too long text boxes.

    What I want to know is if Acrobat allows a make a spot for a text box, and then create tabs or a sort of rocking that pass between the different text boxes within the same space.

    Is this possible?

    Also, I have CS5 installed on my iMac but I don't have InDesign; is this something that would require InDesign, and must I come back to my suite CS4 which included InDesign?

    It is possible to create multiple text fields in the same place and then control which is active. This would require some simple scripts. You could implement the tabs with the help of buttons, so that when it is clicked on the corresponding text field is displayed and the other text in the same location fields becomes hidden. None of this requires InDesign, but should not use something to create the document you are converting to PDF to which you add the form fields.

    But I must ask, once the form is completed by the user, what happens then?

  • Add points to the block of text, possible?

    Is it possible to add a point to a block of text with a script?

    Before:

    Before.GIF

    After:

    After.GIF

    Sure. A text block is a geometric shape than any other; in InDesign, it is just a rectangle.

    All geometric shapes in InDesign consist of one or more paths - all have a property "paths" as a table. Each path contains a pathPoints array and is what you would use to add a corner.

    Because you can not really sure what is the lower right corner, this script does not immediately change the pathPoints. Rather, it copies the path, trying to find the corner (not sure if it is 'the way'), adds two points after that and these points moves to the Insert.

    myRect = app.selection[0];
    myPath = myRect.paths[0];
    myPathPoints = myPath.entirePath;
    // Determine lower right -- not sure if it's always the same!
    corner = 0;
    for (a=1; a myPathPoints[corner][0])
      corner = a;
     if (myPathPoints[a][1] > myPathPoints[corner][1])
      corner = a;
    }
    // Add two point 'after' corner
    // Use old corner point as model
    p1 = [myPathPoints[corner][0], myPathPoints[corner][1]];
    p2 = [myPathPoints[corner][0], myPathPoints[corner][1]];
    myPathPoints.splice (corner+1,0, p1, p2);
    // Move x of original corner point
    myPathPoints[corner][0] -= 5;
    // Move x and y of new angle point
    p1[0] -= 5;
    p1[1] -= 5;
    // Move y of back-to-frame point
    p2[1] -= 5;
    // Put modified path back into object
    myPath.entirePath = myPathPoints;

  • a link to an anchor in a scrolling text box?

    Hello
    I'm designing a page that contains a text medium section and a menu on the left. the client wants to top and left stay in the screen all the time and the central section, which is a long text, floating being and goes up and down without effect on left and top. and the left menu links should make the average text go to the right section of it.
    I know how to use frame and know to use anchors. but I don't know how to do both together, or if it is possible in this way.
    or I could use JavaScript for this?
    I appreciate your help.

    You don't really need to use frames for this. Look at the CSS property overflow.

  • How to get a vertical Automatic centering of the text of paragraph in its bounding box in a composition of model.

    I use a composition of model to replace the different lengths of text in a number of instances of a graph custom in first Pro CC2015. The custom graph contains a circle shape with the text of the model implemented in the form of text of paragraph with its bounding box centered above the circle. Although I can justify to center text horizontally within the bounding box, I can't find a way to center the text vertically within the bounding box. The solution I'm looking for should work automatically with the text of different length strings used for different instances throughout the first sequence.

    No, there is no such thing. You could probably create an installation complicated with a host of text, possibly with an expression, but if not, you will need to manually adjust.

  • Export to a text file

    Dear all,

    I currently use SQL * Loader to load data in an Oracle 9i DB. Which works very well.

    I now need to backup some tables to text (possibly be recharged at a later date) and have been Googling the subject. So far, there seems to be tracking options...

    -To be able to use EXP... but this only seems to be available up to Oracle 8 (is this true?)
    D ' to use SQL * more and spool the data in the text file... but here I have problems with the development workflow in shape and line.

    I was hoping that there is an option in SQL * Loader that will allow me to export about the same way that I export, but I can't seem to find this option.

    Can someone here help me in confirming this (one way or the other) and perhaps pointing me to a good tutorial (I found some tutorials but they all seem to cover only the loading of the data).

    Advice would be welcome.

    Kind regards

    Your DBA must grant READ/write access to the Oracle Directory. You can then use UTL_FILE as a simple user also.

Now, your new paragraph style for caption - break title, name and press return. Enter new text and apply your legend - style of paragraph title case to him.

    If you want that this new paragraph of style in the future-page documents, you will need to save it in your custom base template.

  • extending the features

    Hi, did anyone know if DPS provides an API in the app wrapper to access the peripheral level brackets? So, for example, I want to build an application with training on a new car. The articles would subject such as new features, new subsystems etc. I can build in some code language extension that allows for the quiz questions to be asked, scored, on average, then possibly: saved locally, published on an external server or generate an e-mail to send to an instructor.

    Thank you!

    You can create quizzes using HTML and JavaScript and use local storage of HTML to store information. Similarly, a section of the HTML (or web overlay) can call to any web API you can have hosted on other services.

    DPS 2015 doesn't have a way to call down in device-specific things, however, as the camera.

  • Need help to create a custom formula

    I have a form of evaluation of staff for which I need to create a custom calculation script. We have a rating scale for 1,2,3,4, N/O (not observed). I need a formula that will not include indicators that were marked "N/O" but an average of all selected numbers and place it on the form.

    formula.JPG

    The formula must focus on all areas and determine if they are a numeric value or the N/O, add all the fields with a digital together and then divide by the total number of assessments which have a numeric value. For example:

    1.01 = 4

    1.02 = 3

    1.03 = N/O

    1.04 = 3

    1.05 = 3

    1.06 = 4

    1.07 = N/O

    I need the formula for adding 1.01,1.02,1.04,1.05 and 1.06 and divide by 5 instead of divide by 7, because all indicators have not been observed.

    Ah ok. In this case, you can use this code as the script of custom calculation of your average text field:

    var n = 0;

    var total = 0;

    for (var i = 1; i)<=7; i++)="">

    var f = this.getField("1.0"+i);

    If (/ ^ \d$/.test(f.valueAsString)) {}

    n ++ ;

    Total += Number (f.valueAsString).

    }

    }

    If (n == 0) event.value = "";

    else event.value = total/n;

  • Opacity of background button

    Hi all

    Is there a way to make opaque only in the background of a button (javaFX 2.0)?

    I would like to continue to clearly see the image of the button and the text (possibly also lines of border), but whose background (effects) of the pane visible parent.

    Doing really the opacity button effect would also opaque (and "fuzzy" a degree) all the items on the button (I guess that's usually not the desired effect).

    It is certainly possible, but you would need to define a different style.

    In the Caspian Sea (the default style of FX) they do not - use fx-border-color that's why a lot of a strange (which is weird in my humble OPINION). Background CSS and the border of the button are defined using - fx-background-color instead, with several background colors that overlap between them. So if you use a transparent color for the 'background' (the last color in the definition - fx-background-color), you will not see through because the "borders" are defined in - fx-background-color too (so your button will have the color of the border of the nickname "internal" instead).

    It is something like:

    .button {
     -fx-background-color: focus-border, outer-border, inner-border, background;
    }

    If you move the definition of the borders in - fx-border-color place (with the correct - fx-border-yoke to avoid to go outside the boundaries), you can achieve true transparent background without problem.

    Something similar to:

    .button {
     -fx-background-color: background;
     -fx-border-color: focus-border, outer-border, inner-border;
    }

    This looks like an expensive option just to get a PHP mail form to work! If there is no error message, what happens exactly when you submit the form? should redirect to a confirmation page, but simply not send the mail? He simply reload the page, or to hang and timeout?

    All traces in the function show what do you expect?  If so, what did you conclude that the ust variable is not assigned the ast value?

    A thing I would recommend is to use "event.currentTarget" instead of "event.target", just to be sure that the object to drag the object with the listener who are entrusted to him.  Otherwise, the goal could be another object inside the object with the assigned listener.

  • What are the brackets around paragraphs and the heads?

    I hope that someon can help me in this regard. I can't seem to find anything about it.

    I received an InDesign file for a book that we update the design and content. All of the text in this file has brackets, at the beginning and end of each paragraph or the head. I have never seen anything like this before, from a background of Quark.

    The characters are visible in 'normal mode', but they disappear when you view it in "Preview" mode

    Can anyone tell me please what that hooks around average text?

    They are XML tags:
