B200 M2 switchable to SSD hot - Rebuild?

Two questions:

1 - is the 100 GB SSD the largest SSD drive, you can put in a B200 M2, even with the latest firmware updates?

2 - If you have an SSD 100 GB mirrored with the operating system installed, if you want to upgrade the disks, you have to put the two new drives in and rebuild manually operating system or can put you in one at a time and do the autogrow?

Thanks in advance.

Dustin,

You will need to move on to something pretty recent due to:

https://Tools.Cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/ CSCue99255/.

For size, in M3 we moved all the way up to 400 GB

http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/prod/collateral/ps10265/ps10280/B200M3_SpecSheet.PDF

The extent of the M2, I think 100 GB (for the SSD) is the only option:

http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/prod/collateral/ps10265/ps10280/ps10915/data_sheet_c78-588109.html

There is no plan to change this accroding to:

  • Recently installed SSD, the left hand (the back of the screen) HOT

So I recently installed an SSD in the iMac.But that I do not have a temperature sensor to be installed on the SSD.

    Spec as follow

Ive been doing some research online and people said to avoid this direction fan / running on Full constantly to install SSD Fan Control, which i have and the fan became silent again.

How ever look at the screen, if I put my hand up to left (rear panel) it seems to be real hot where the inverter card is I think?

    -What is normal?

I've included some photos of SSD Fan Control temperature readings (SSD temp must be SATA as there is no sensor on it)

I can't give you a reading temp of the left rear of the screen.

Any information that would be great.

Very simple, you must contact OWC (www.macsales.com) by phone and ask about their temperature sensor cable. You need to then open up and install the cable. Otherwise, your computer may overheat and cook something.

  • HPE-495 desktop - HARD drive is u/s, please help to rebuild with SSDS

    Hi all

[[2 TB Hitachi SATA 3.0 GB/s] HARD drive GL8E]. The current failed HARD drive is connected to the sata1 and there is a spare on the motherboard sata2. Spare power supplies available [CH 4 & ch 5]. Office was running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

I would like to install a 840 EVO Samsung 250 GB SSD SATA 3 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1 and a second [still undecided 2 TB Western Digital SATA 3] as data drive.

These discs are backaward compatible with the existing architecture of SATA - y at - it all isuues with this proposal, would I need to make changes to the BIOS, other than this initial boot off dvd player to install the new windows on the ssd drive?

    Thank you very much.

If you replace the current HARD drive with SSD in SATA1, new in SATA2 HARD drive and let the CD/DVD in SATA3 on your HP Pavilion Elite HPE-495uk desktop, your computer should boot the Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit DVD into the CD/DVD drive. This assumes that the disks are new with absolutely no data on them. You may need to, press the "ESC" key or the "F # ' suitable for your computer, select the CD/DVD drive as a boot device.

  • PowerEdge 2900 switchable hot

I have a Dell PowerEdge 2900 running windows Small Business SERVER 2003, we will be taken out of service soon, but we just had a departure by car to go bad - seeing yellow flashes and error on LCD server message: 'E1 H10 HDD1 fault.'   daily backups and weekly regular running properly because of corruption, then I copied the table as a security measure.  I bought a new drive identical to the 4 existing disks that are configured as Raid 1.

    The drive is a:
    341-4430 750 GB 7.2 K rpm Universal SATA 3Gbps 3.5-inch hard drive

    The raid controller is:
    341-5754 1 SAS/SATA embedded RAID 1, PERC 6 / i integrated/SAS6/iR

Can I leave the server running and pull the wrong drive and drag the new, without running applications before or after this procedure, and will be automatically rebuild the raid?

I know that I need to replace the server.  But my immediate need is to solve the problem of bad disc, and I'd appreciate any advice or a link to the instructions in this procedure.

We are a small non-profit and have none of the staff and no budget assistance, or I would have called in help.

It is a Dell application that will interface directly with the hardware. It must be installed on any Dell server that you manage. On the downloads page, it is called OpenManage Server Administrator - Managed Node, use the 32-bit version.

According to the chassis 4500 and 6500/7600, the box will stay up, the new card will start and work as expected, but you will need to re-buried the config for all ports (assuming you will be connect to the same port numbers) in the old configuration, they were (if it was slot 2 for example).

  • Can I make a switchable hot on HP Proliant DL380 G6-Raid-1

    Afternoon everyone,

I got one of the hard drives on our host of failure and I ordered it as a replacement. We are currently running ESXi 4 and I wanted to know if I can swap the hard drive on or it will take some configurations, such as moving of virtual machines, etc.?

    Thank you

    Welcome to the community,

If the controller supports and if the drives are hot swappable to actually do this way. Replace the drive in a RAID 1With the host turned off, it's like playing Russian roulette, because you don't know which drive is synchronized to that. However, this does not mean that I do not recommend to have a current backup of the virtual machine in case something does not work as expected.

  • How to install a H700 on a with switchable R410 hot? Pictures included

We are fairly new to RAID in general - and we have an R410 with card SAS 6/iR in its storage location - and a H700 hung in the PCI expansion slot. The problem is, we can get only 2 HARD disks to recognize because we do not know how to connect the wires.

The H700 has 2 cables that can cling to the top of the back. The bottom of the basket of the device has hotswap of 2 slots so - but the riser, it seems needs to be plugged. You have the SAS cable plugged into the straighter hotswap SAS port - and left port hotswaps is connected to port A of the H700.

If connect us the two cables of the SAS card to the hotswap - we get an error about the riser and not detection, a fatal error of sorts. Understand us its something stupid we are missing or a cable we are missing-, but we can't seem to find a concrete guide installation and dell technical support is min $150.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Hello

SAS connectors on the draw itself are for modular cards that are installed in the location of storage built on the extension. If your SAS 6/iR controller is modular it doesn't have its own SAS connectors. It uses the connectors on the risers.

The H700 will be the version of the adapter to work in a standard PCIe location. If it's the integrated version then it will probably not work in this niche.

Wiring of the controller is quite easy. There is a SAS A and B SAS connector on the backplane. You must have a cable for each connection if you want to use all 4 locations. A SAS is for HDD 0.1 and SAS B for 2, 3. Two RAID controllers internal current of execution inside basket is not a supported configuration in the R410. You might be able to make it work, but it is not something we designed to work. I would recommend using one of the cards rather than try to use them both.

The white slot on the extension is a built-in storage location. It is specifically designed for the built-in versions of our maps PERC. The black slot is a slot PCIe x 16 normal.

If you need more help, then I recommend that you post the specs on the cables and controllers. If you can locate the numbers on the controllers and cables that you try to use would be useful.

    Zelgaddis
You have the SAS cable plugged into the straighter hotswap SAS port - and left port hotswaps is connected to port A of the H700.

This is not a supported configuration. Try to use an internal RAID controller connected to the bottom of basket.

    Zelgaddis
We get an error about the riser and not detection, a fatal error of sorts.

This could be a tuning link or an error in the training. If you try to install a controller of storage built into a standard PCIe location it can cause these errors.

    Thank you

  • PowerVault MD1000 Perc 6/E hot swap

Which would prevent me from doing a Hot Swap on a 136GB 15K SAS drive on a PowerVault MD1000 with a Controller PERC 6/E for Adaptive Read Ahead, write new policy, broadband strategy of disk, RAID-10 in degraded state, a defective disk cache 64 KB, disabled?

Blew up a car and you want to make sure I can hot swap on this machine. I read through product docs, but you are looking for something extra that I want to check that I missed on. Server of our warranty and support from last year. Everything I see is green lighted to go, but I always want to get will as many resources as possible before blowing a RAID 10 potentially because a controller had some setting that prevents a switchable good hot to rebuild. Make backups before swap, swap during off-peak hours doing rebuild starts on commercial operations.

    I read through docs:

    http://public.support.Unisys.com/pcproducts/ESX/docs/DellDocs5.4/en/Perc6i_6e/chapterb.htm

    http://support.Dell.com/support/eDOCS/systems/MD1000/en/Hom/om_en.PDF

    Hello matt.newman,

For the MD1000, you can replace a failed during execution of the MD1000 drive.  When you insert the replacement drive, it will start a reconstruction.

To replace the Perc6 you will need to do is the following:

    1. Make sure you have a good backup tested all the MD data
    2. Turn off the server and the MD
    3. The PERC6. Remove and replace
    4. Turn on the MD & wait that he move to a ready state
    5. Turn the server & go in the new Bios Perc6 / configuration
    6. You have to re-create the raid10 & together for Adaptive Read Ahead, political writing back, broadband 64 KB, off the disk cache strategy
    7. Once you have created the raid then leave the PERC6 configuration utility and the Server post to the operating system
    8. Once logged on the operating system you can then run the restore to restore your data to the MD

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

  • T310 with S300 in RAID 5 - How to rebuild after replacing a disc?

Got a T310 here with 4x250GB drives configured in RAID 5. Had a disk fails, and the controller signals the RAID as degraded. I replaced the drive with a known good. The S300 automatically rebuilt? I went in the controller menu to make sure that he saw the car, which she did, and I let it sit for awhile, but I do not see that the new drive is part of the table. I tried the hot spare configuration, but it is not picking it up to rebuild the table.

I'm trying to do it in the controller, because Windows runs very slowly at the moment, and I hope that it is because the table is in a drive. I tried to install open manage, but the system seems to hang when it tries to open the executable file.

It is the latest version of the OMSA:
    http://www.Dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=6XJTF&FILEID=3449087462&osCode=WS8R2&ProductCode=PowerEdge-T310&LanguageCode=en&CategoryID=SM

Download the EXE and then run to extract the files. Run C:\Openmanage\Windows\setup.exe, and then add yourservernameorip:1311 to the Intranet of THE area.

Many things may prevent it from automatically rebuild. It should start to rebuild in a minute to be assigned as a hot spare. If not, the drive can not be suitable as a spare drive (too small, bad type (SAS/SATA/SSD), incompatible (NAS, desktop/laptop, not certified), or if the table has become corrupted. Is what model of drive? You ARE able to define it as a backup, right? If this is not the case, make sure that the drive is not listed on the PD MGMT screen in CTRL-R as "foreigners".

  • MacBook Pro mid-2012 running hot (MacOS Sierra)

    Hello

    I have a MBP mid-2012 13 inch with 16 GB. of ram and a 500 GB. SSD

I had it set up with boot camp and dualboot El Capitan and MS-Windows-10

Everything is working, all the features and functions in the two operating systems.

I was very pleased with this MBP.

Recently, I put a new battery in it and upgraded to Mac OS Sierra.

Since then the MBP runs hot.

    It heats up very quickly.

Is this a common problem with macOS Sierra?

Or do you think that the NEW battery maybe causing the MBP get HOT?

I use an adapter to power 85 watts OEM.

The battery seems to work fine.

Several demons as mdworker are running to set up the Sierra which CPU load until adjustment ended.

You can check with activity monitor.

  • updated my mac pro early 2011 book now really running hot

I wanted from the upgrade of my mac book pro early 2011 I7 quad core 8 G ram 2T HDD

So I finally did. I like it, but now my mac runs hot 116 degrees. the fans are running.

boot time has also more he takes more time.

I used my mac pro for dj book I also do a video mixer.

run final cut pro x no problem

I also do recording on a DAW. never had any problems so far.

I understand is difficult to test on all models is a solution for this.

I thought he was going to improve performance, I don't see it seems to take more time during startup.

How about this circle just turn around.

I know that you guys try.

I hope hear from you soon.

    Thank you

Run programs of type DJ on an Early 2011 MacBook Pro, while also on El Capitan put quite a strain on the machine. Programs of DJ using just the music will pull a use much more memory and CPU than normal, not to mention video mixing as well. That being said, you use a USB jack in a box/audio mixer (like SL3 or Pioneer DJM900) or you use a DJ controller?

I do not think that 116 degrees is too abnormally warm for the type of stress you put on the machine. I would possibly consider a SSD drive. Not only will improve performance, but because you will have parts in SSD, as you would in a standard hard drive, the machine should run cooler.
