Back to its location by default, the registry database

Hi all

Considers that I started working on a Windows 7 computer. During exploration I see there are a lot of changes by some registry entries. To solve them, I need to go on the path and change each of them. But I think that there should be a simpler way, say a tool. I know there are a lot of tools/apps, but I don't know which ones are really reliable.
Is there a reliable software for the back registry keys to their default state please?

Hello Aria,

I understand that you have given and important software on your computer, but unfortunately there is no way to restore the registry without affecting the system software.

As an alternative method, I recommend you to go for a restoration of the system that would return to your registry for the day where it was working fine. It will not affect your data but made software changes may be returned on the date of the restore point.

To learn more about system restore in Windows 7, check out the links in the following article:

What is system restore?

System Restore: frequently asked questions

Important : When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

Hope this information is useful. Please do not hesitate to answer, in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

    Hello

    • What were the changes made before the problem occurred?

I recommend you perform the clean boot.

Configuration of your system in a clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

hard to explain but the test I read, I opened firefox seems all smudged if I click on the words apear but it seems to be all pages, even this one it's like half the pieces inself letters are missing.

Inexplicable display abnormalities often indicate an incompatibility between Firefox and the software driver graphics card. Sometimes you can update or cancel only the software to fix the problem. However, as an immediate solution, try disabling the use of Firefox hardware acceleration of graphics.

the button Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) > Options > advanced

In the mini ' General' tab, uncheck the box for "use hardware acceleration when available.

It will take effect after you exit and then restart Firefox.

Which solves the problem? If so, a compatibility issue is the likely problem.

  • Shrink the registry (CFVariables)

    Hello

We have been having some problems with our servers recently and looking into it, I discovered that the registry hive of the software on the two servers was around 2 GB, now I know that windows 2003 is not a limit on the hives, but from my point of view, it's not good for the health of the server (explains why sometimes it takes forever to start and we get BSOD on hives). After a bit of rooting, I discovered that Coldfusion 6.11 is to store client variables in the registry. I'm looking to reverse that to a SQL database in the new few days.

My real question is, Macromedia/Adobe offers a util which comes out clean of all the elements of its summer store in the registry, so I can get my server back to normal?

I downloaded the bleeding next to http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_17881 adbove tool

This empty more 450 000 entries recorded in the registry.
Although the registry for software hive was still 2GB, I then used a registry compacting (probably best that I've seen) tool from http://www.experimentalscene.com/download.php?list.2 it then narrowed the hive software up to 14 MB!

I have now converted to the use of the SQL storage and I just have to wait now to see if we continue the BSOD hive. It was on Windows 2003 Standard Edition SP1

  • DVD player, corrupted in the registry

When I put a disc in the dvd drive, it does nothing. When I go into my computer, it can not see the drive.

information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

Click on 'Search for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and
to see if there is a solution available."

When I do this it redirects me to a page where I can spend $80 for Nero 9.

When I get Code 19 at Microsoft it tells me that the information in the registry are corrupted and I have to edit the registry, but where in the registry to change or what to change for she doesn't tell me.

If I try to update the driver it tells me the driver is up-to-date and it won't change.

Am I right in thinking that if I simply uninstall the dvd drive and reboot Vista will automatically reinstall and download the driver on the internet?

That the answer did not work, it comes up saying the same thing.

So I tried restoring the system again, using the same restore point, I had the first time, and it worked.

    No idea why.

    Hello

I oddly found the solution to my problem while browsing through the suggestions of SpritX at the following link: http://forums.techarena.in/vista-help/771598.htm

Here is the solution I implemented and now my drive works perfectly:

    RESOLUTION
Warning serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using the registry editor or by using another method. These problems may require that you reinstall the operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk.

To resolve this problem, remove the affected filter drivers. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, type regedit in the search box, and then click regedit in the list programs.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.
    2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Be careful it can be many instances of the registry subkey that is mentioned in step 2. You must ensure that you are in the appropriate registry subkey before modifying the UpperFilters and LowerFilters values. To verify that you are in the appropriate registry subkey, make sure that the default data value is the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM and the class data value is CDROM.
    3. in the right pane, click UpperFilters, and then click on remove.
    4. click on Yes to confirm the deletion of the UpperFilters registry entry.
    5. in the right pane, click LowerFilters, and then click on remove.
    6. click on Yes to confirm the deletion of the LowerFilters registry entry.
    7. exit the registry editor and then restart the computer.
Note When you delete the UpperFilters registry entry and the LowerFilters registry entry, you may lose functionality in certain programs such as CD recording programs. In this scenario, you must reinstall all of the programs involved. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor to determine if an update is available for the program.

  • How change the registry Vista so I can add my program in the default programs list?

    Hello

I need help to change the register of Vista so I can't add Sibelius 5 to the list of default programs.

I need to do this for some reason when I try to open the files .sib I need to open it with a program. So why I want 5 of Sibelius.

However, when I do this, I do the normal navigation and select 5 of Sibelius in program files but nothing happens.

I was in Control Panel and was in default programs and all that stuff in there, but still it's not helping.

    See you soon

    Hello

We could do this in the registry, but it shouldn't. You mention that you went into default programs, but you don't mention if you have tried successfully to associate the file .sib with Sibelius. That's what I would try first.

    (1) navigation to the "default programs":

In "Control Panel Home", select "Programs", then on "Default programs", choose "do a type of file always open in a specific program.

    Or b:

Search "Classic view" for the "default programs". Select "Set your default programs".

    2)

Scroll down the list until you see. SIB. Double-click on that. Select Browse and locate the Sibelius program.

(Note: * maybe that is your problem.) --> Make sure you browse to the EXECUTABLE file. If you access a shortcut, it will not and it may not work correctly when you try to open later.

    * And you're good to go. Once it is associated with, you should be able to double-click the .sib file and run the program. Hope this helps,
