Background semi-transparent text with corners rounded. (Old Q, but with a twist.)

Hi all

I'm just starting to soak my feet in Dw as part of a COMPUTER program. The only thing I know is a basic level of the HTML language. We have not yet learned how to write CSS manually, but that is coming up very soon. Why they don't teach us that first of all I don't understand, but at this point told us not to touch the code in Dw, only to do it all in Design view. It's the twist. My guess is that they want us to be able to refer to our work later and see what the code is only as we designed it our website.

Now, what I try to do an assignment is to create a Web site simple, and in the div of the main content I want to make a semi-transparent text box with rounded corners which can take up to 90% or the width of the div content. Is it possible to do this in Design view? I don't see that this explained in the code.

Thanks for any help. I know it's probably one of the dumbest questions out there, but I'm in this to learn.

I did a video screencast for you:

Confidence, it helps.

Good luck!

I would like to place a callout directly on an image that has a transparent semi information, but retains the fully opaque text. I was trying to avoid additional images.

A picture is sometimes a better choice.  Use a very small semi-transparent png image and repeat.  Background image can be as small as 2 pixels x 2 if very small.

The problem with an opacity of CSS, it's that you need different rules for each browser engine: Moz, webkit, IE...

    Examples with the code:

    http://ALT-Web.com/sample.html

And opacity extends to everything inside, this text is gray.  For this reason, I prefer to use an image instead of opacity CSS.

    Paul,

    You can:

    (1) describe the fonts and Uncompound/separate/whatever necessary;

    (2) select the letters and the object > path > offset by a negative value equal to the thickness left on each side of the gap.

    (3) deselect, then Direct select each of the end of the Anchor Points which is inside the letter or the forms and the ShiftClickDrag it outside the shape of the letter in question;

    (4) apply to Pathfinder > less before.

You can work on single letters or letters at the same time according to the preparations in 1) and other things you can do between 3) and 4).

  • Progress with the semi-transparent cursor display?

    Hello

I'm working on a project which controls 28 rooms.  I want to have a screen with bars of different colors for the different stages.  I'm here thinking sliders.  I want to fill them before the start of the execution and then have a coverage slider which is semi transparent to cross.

I don't see a way to get the transparent semi with the cursor in another.

My next idea is to have a translucent image 2D on top that changes size running.

    Simple suggestions?

    Thank you

Yes. As I said, there are a number of ways in which you can do, but to stay in line with what you already have, you can create a semi transparent PNG square (I like Paint.NET, but I think that PowerPoint should also work for this) and imports that instead of filling. The key point is that, once you do this, you need to hide the background of the slide. To do this, select window > show window pieces in the editing mode and find the part called cosmetic. Change its size and position so that it is hidden. Alternatively, you can import a transparent image to replace it. Will allow you to see behind the slide.

  • Select transparent color with pipette...

    Hello

I have a semi-transparent rectangle with some colorful behind her paths. I now want to choose the exact color I see: my mixed background translucent color. I tried the eyedropper (with or without SHIFT), but he always takes the fully opaque color of the rectangle transparent and no one (not even the mixture with the bottom one).
How can I choose transparent colors? What I need to do a print screen, paste the Clipboard to Photoshop and it take it?

    Thank you very much
    Konrad

Ok... I understand how it do haha Nevermind!

To get the exact color, I used the eyedropper tool to review colors and looked at the window COLOR GUIDE rather than just the colors window.

When you get the color you want to paint with it, be sure to mount the opacity because it will always be the defined percentage. Fact!

Photoshop is perfect for that. Here's a short and sweet great video tutorial that will show you how to get the desired results. It starts around the mark 25 seconds.

On the effect controls panel, you can choose the stroke of extra or text and apply the transparency you need as a result.

  • Text and PDF is faded, semi transparent and unreadable.

    Hello
Since the installation of Firefox 6, when I tried to open a PDF file, the image looks like it summer flows in a bad copy machine that is almost out of ink and is semi-transparent. (I can see the background image to display on my desktop via the PDF). I have Adobe Reader X 10.1.0 installed version, which seems to be the last plugin. (I checked all my plug-ins Adobe are up-to-date and also disabled every plugin but Adobe Acrobat and the problem persists.) I also noticed this problem with some of the text in the Flash applications, I opened it, such as practical a quiz site for a manual that I use for school. This does not occur in Internet Explorer, or when I open a PDF file in the viewer Adobe, leading me to think it's a Firefox problem. It's pretty frustrating that I can't read my documents online or study for my exams using Firefox, because overall, it's my browser of choice. Counsel on how I can try to fix this problem? Thank you.

I have Firefox 6 (but several versions have the same problem) and was faced with the same problem and finally found the Solution. Firefox has hardware acceleration is enabled by default. You must disable.

You can do it under Tools-> Options-> advanced. Uncheck the hardware acceleration

1, type about: config in your address bar and promise to be careful, then search in gfx.direct2d.disabled preference name.
    Double-click the preference to True.

2, check disable it Firefox Direct2D and DirectWrite Hardware Acceleration.
Find the name of the preference gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.enabled .
    Double-click the preference to false.

Restart Firefox. You should get clear, sharp images as well as correct rendered PDF back. It worked for me!

  • How to fill the text with transparent areas

Several ways. You can use the magic wand tool to select the transparent areas in the text: use contiguous, then move click here to make the next letter. You should maybe put a white layer below the sample text and use all layers. Extend selection when done and fill a layer below the text with the desired color.

Well, your rectangles are perfectly aligned. Who will never give any valid intersection for simple mathematical reasons - a normal vector with a length of 1 subtract a vector of the same length is finally equal to zero. One of the rectangles must be smaller or bigger, if not a little.
