Backup window ignores the VDR

Today my VDR installation ignored the calendar and make a backup of the two VM at 15:30.

I use the default backup window settings.

Any ideas?

Do you remember by selecting 'Translate compliance' or in the right click context menu of the backup task? This causes the backup window will remain open until all backups are made.

This happens every day or just a few days?

It seems that Windows Backup jumped basically every valuable piece of data on my PC.  I did a search for answers and it seems that when people have this problem backup Windows still do not know the same libraries (pretend to prove that it is not a problem of material with the HARD drive). and the only suggestion I could find was to run the chkdsk utility, then attempt a backup again.  I have since run the utility chkdsk twice and it found no errors, and I continue to have this problem when you save.

Beyond running the chkdsk utility and reboot for a third time, can anyone help?

    Thanks in advance.

I think that this is the case because of a virus (incase your pc is not protected or a new threat has developed).

    Please install an antivirus.
I suggest Microsoft Security Essentials.Scan all the files and then try again.
Or try freeing up space on the drive you store the backup in the c DRIVE.
or try to move your important files to an external USB key or hard drive and format your pc :)
That will solve almost all your problems.
In case you need help with anything else or this does'nt resolve your problem, mail me or reply to this post of mine.

  • To use Robocopy to copy files, but you will notice that after the initial backup, it ignores the unchanged files, but I don't want it!

    Hello

I use robocopy in Windows Server 2008 R2 operating system.

    Here #1

I would like to use Robocopy to copy a disc (z) files on an external drive (f) and want to "full backup" every time regardless of whether the files have been modified.

    How do I do that?

I tried to use the command

    Robocopy z:\ketchup f:\ketchup/e

It works very well if there is nothing in this record, but once the initial order has been executed. It will skip all files of unchaged but I want yet it backs up to the top anyway.

    Want to #2

I would like also to add a unique name that includes the date and time I'm it backup (in essense a new backup folder name that contains the date and time).  Hoping to place it under scheduled tasks as soon as I get going.

    Thank you

    Hi Jess,

Your question of Windows 7 is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums. It is better suited for the IT Pro on Microsoft Windows Server public. Please post your question in the TechNet Forum. You can follow the link to your question:

  • Backup Windows survey the failure error code backup 0 x 80780048 - not enough disk space on the destination drive.

The backup includes a complete image of the C: System and all files on drive C: (used space on C: = 377 GB), goes to an external hard drive with a capacity of 930 GB (540GB free on external). The size of the backup when the backup has stopped and gave me the error: 295.4 GB (leaving 347 GB of free hard disk external) backup took more than 13 hours. I use Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit, 1 MS) on a Dell XPS 17 L702X. Full size of hard disk installed (drive c :)) = 500 GB.

I have no idea whether or not Windows backup really did all my files saved or if or not he managed to obtain a complete picture of the system in the backup. I absolutely need to have the two all my files and an image of the system as a backup because I change my OS drive of 500 GB for one SSD drive smaller hard drive. This 500 GB drive will be wiped out and used as a storage device, but I'd rather have the ability to restore to its original state if something goes wrong. I hope you can solve this problem for me.

I suggest avoid you the Windows backup program and you get a good commercial backup program. This forum meets for a windows problem reports. I know that I was very impressed when I tried it. Three I'm familiar with and like Norton Ghost (which I use for 8 years no 1 problem), Easeus Todo Backup free, you can download it from

http://www.TODO-backup.com/products/home/free-backup-software.htm and Memeo , which has 30 day free trial and you can buy it for $29.99 - you can download it from http://memeo.com . You can get Ghost for almost nothing (like me), if you look at the sales.

The March 2012 issue of PC World is very high on the program FREE of Easeus and I tested it recently in a variety of configurations; and must say that I am very impressed. As Ghost will support up to a network drive and it will create a bootable CD for when your PC does not start. See commentary to PC World to

    http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid, order 80031, 4/description.html .

CNET has a lot of reviews of backup program to

    http://download.cnet.com/windows/backup-software/?tag=contentBody;sideBar .

Some of them are free (the last time I checked there over 300), some have free trials (more), and some are buying only (more than 200).

External hard drives are the best for backup. You can get a 500 GB one for $70 and a 1.5 to one for about $90. You can also buy a flash drive of 32 GB for less than $20. It is the best insurance you can buy ever!

  • After using Windows 7 backup, Windows said: "the last backup failed."

I use Windows 7 Pro backup each week to a separate hard drive. I needed to use the backup today. After using action Center says now that my last backup failed. It is still listed in the backup and it worked, then why is it listed as failed now?

Event ID 4 means the backup completed successfully

Have you compared the last backup to backup other files?

You can try to perform a new backup to make sure that it works correctly.

Antivirus software may have hindered during the backup process and triggered the message "failure of the last backup.  Turn it off when you run another backup.

    Good luck!

  • Can I transfer the VDR tape backup?

Hello. I looked in the FAQ and docs for VDR, but I can't figure out if it is possible to move the saved by VMs tape or another type of backup media.

I understand that the 'original' store target for VDR can be NFS, CIFS or another type and that it keeps a history (deduped) according to the rules of detention, but I feel the need to move more / archive these backups off-site and for a longer retention.

Is this possible and if so, can I use my regular backup program to back up the NFS/CIFS data store in the form of regular files, or how it is?

    All the

Thanks for the posts - great to see so much discussion on the forums.  Some elements/clarification

    (1) given that some people have already said, VDR has no native support for removable media (cassette, DVD, etc.).

    (2) all backups are written to disk in a proprietary format of VDR (compressed and deduped)-for VDR can only read this "dedupe store.

    (3) this store of deduplication is actually a bunch of files running on the destination diskette file system - so there are a few files and since they are all resident in the same directory, they can quite transportable/backup-able/moving.  As some people had mentioned, if the destination is a CIFS share, then any backup/restore software that can 'see' these files will be able to move in the Ribbon.  For those of us lucky enough to have deployed replication technology, you should be able to take advantage of replicate the store of deduplication to another destination

    (4) the State of the VDR unit is also kept in the store of deduplication.  That means backup jobs, newspapers, etc. are preserved, as well as in the case of a DR scenario, newly developed into service camera VDR and pointing to the store of deduplication (existing or restored from media) will return the VDR unit in its last known state

    So here's the tricky part...

    (1) VDR has a concept called a backup window.  The little secret is that in addition to backups, we will carry out also "household" deduplication Bank, such as health checks and the removal of political restore points (i.e. more than it that calls retention policy).  Meanwhile, the store of deduplication is 'active '.

    (2) in addition, if you perform restorations or bring work of backup in accordance, VDR will allow these operations outside the backup window, once again the store of deduplication will be 'active '.

So, if you don't want to save the store of deduplication, you should make sure that the store of deduplication is inactive.  The only way to guarantee that today is the VDR unit power off.

We are creating documents on best practice VDR covering a variety of topics - we intend to come out in the next 30-60 days.

    Thank you!

  • Windows 7 backup error 0X8100002F: backup of ignored files (expected) does not allow the (unexpected) full

    Hi all:

I am backing up my PC to a network folder.
Everything works as expected when the backup - but it FAILS.
I get the 0X8100002F error - and when I look in detail, it is said that \\ML370-FS1\Music has been saved not because it is not a local drive.
It's 100% expected - this folder is in my music library.
This should not cause an ERROR during the backup (as the docs stated clearly that remote files will not be saved).
It must be a successful backup.
Instead - I find myself with a message of daily failure without good reason.
How can I stop Windows 7 backup to report this as an ERROR when the location ignored completely should be excluded from the backup.
As now - my "Last backup" date is never - as this process always fails.
    Thank you
    Chris

    Hi Chris,

    Method 1:

I suggest you take ownership of the drive that you want to backup to. Try it below the steps to do the same thing:

    a. right-click on the drive.

    b. click Properties , click the Security tab

    c. under the Security tab click the box that involves change

    d. put a box on all the boxes which is under the allow column.

    e. click apply and Ok.

    Method 2:

You can temporarily disable firewalls and verify if the backup is complete. Check out the following link to do the same thing:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 3:

Exclude files from backup files in the backup settings and then include these files in their original location. To exclude folders in other communities and to include these files in the original location, follow these steps:

    a. in the Control Panel, open the backup and restore.

    b. in the backup section, click change settings.

    (c) in the dialog box Configure the backup , click Next.

    d. in the dialog box that you want to save , click Let me chooseand then click Next.

    e. expand the data files, library, expand additional locations, and then click to clear the check boxes folder AppData, Contactsand Research .

    f. expand computers, expand the element of your system drive (for example, expand Local disk (c)), expand users, , and then click to select the checkboxes AppData, Contactsand Research if they exist.

    g. click Nextand then click on Save settings and exit.

    h. in backup and restore, click back up now to perform a new backup. The backup operation should complete without error.

    I hope this helps.

  • Recalling the backup window not reacted and block the code unlock sliding layer

My ipad has jumped out the window remember to save my icloud when connected to wifi, ipad so I pressed 'yes '. The window does not go after that I pressed the Yes button, but remained on the screen. Now, I couldn't slide to unlock my ipad because of the window block, recalling that this last layer. What should I do now? Thanks anyway!

Have you tried a soft-reset/reboot? Press and hold buttons sleep and home for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the "slide to power off" if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear and it should restart.

You can then force a backup via the settings > iCloud > backup > Back Up Now

I guess my computer Windows 10 cannot speak on the new secure server this update tries to connect to. For now, I just went and reinstalled and ignored the 2.2 update or anything like that. The difficulty of this Apple. What did your so-called security update is breaking the Apple software update.

I did the update when it appeared and it worked well for me. I even used it to update iTunes earlier this week, but this morning noticed the same error on two machines. Clearly question server side of Apple, they need to fix

  • backup Windows used on xp family - need to locate the .dbx files to restore

Recently, I wiped the water of the hard drive and reinstalled XP.  I ' v been using the Windows backup utility (from the installation disc Add ons) and I have the old files on a portable hard drive.  I am still investigating the .dbx files to restore the old email from outlook express, but when I use the restore option and try to browse the backup folder, the structure I see seems fragmented and still incomplete.  He did not get down to the level of the individual files that windows Explorer, and I don't want to bring back a bunch of garbage in a new installation of XP.  Anyone know the folder that contains the dbx files, and what else would I be restore with backup if I restore this file?

    Hi there MYOdB,

You can use the Wizard to restore in the backup or Restore Wizard to select the files to restore; you will need to restore the Documents and Settings folder, because the .dbx files are normally stored in C:\Documents and Settings\ [your original username] \Application Data\Identities\ {a string} \Microsoft\Outlook Express

Backup Windows XP does not seem to be clear the attribute archive when you perform a normal backup.

I do a backup of the 'Normal' at the beginning of the month.  Then, at the end of the first week, I do a "Differential" backup (using the same "backup job" but change to type "Incremental".)

Well the difference is huge and to study, I see that a lot of files that I don't know that I didn't take the week since the 'Normal' backup have the Archive attribute set.

Is the 'Normal' compensation not the bit mode backup of archive?  Another thing would be randomly set the attributes to archive?  Is there a ghost in the machine?  Inquiring minds want to know.

    Hello

Differential backup marks files as having been backed up (in other words, archive attribute is not cleared). This is normal.

  • Windows could not load the backup selected for the following reasons

I'm having a problem, try to restore a backup set

A failure of HD I had to wipe my computer.

Now I'm tyring to restore and it doesn't give me the error on the title of this thread with 0x810000E3 error code

I have windows vista Home premium

I can see the ZIP files on my external USB hard drive, but when I double click using windows compress or winzip files are not open.

I tried the restore (basic and advanced) the windows backup and restore program nothing works.

I have crucial information on this drive I need to recover.

    Any information is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

I could not find any information on this specific error code - so it will have to address the situation in a generic way.

Here is an article on the restore procedure: http://www.vista4beginners.com/How-to-restore-files to make sure you do this right.  It's a selective restore of a full or selective backup (not a full restore from a full backup) - but since you did a full backup, it matches your process more closely than would a full restore.

This is a GREAT article on the backup and restore processes in Vista http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2007.09.backup.aspx , but he won't go into detail about the restoration process - considering almost as easy, of course.  But it teaches you a lot about what is possible and how to do it.

Here is an article on the advanced use of restoration (during normal restore does not work): http://www.mayankraichura.com/post/2009/08/06/Avdvanced-Restore-via-Windows-Vista-Backup-and-Restore-Center.aspx.

I also found the following (but don't know if it of true or not):

    1. after the start of "backup and Restore Center."

    2. I chose "Advanced Restore"

    3. I was did not an administrator password... maybe because my account is an administrator account.

4 choose "files from a backup made on a different computer.

    5. in the dialog box indicating "Select the location of the backup to restore", select "hard drive, CD or DVD...". »

    6. under the drop-down list box, select your drive/partition and continue

    7. If all the backups on your drive, it will show a list of them.

    8. in my case, he showed a backup, but in the backup location, it will show "backup location is not available."

    9. I was frustrated, but then I somehow just select this backup (Yes... even if he said that the backup location is not available " ")

    10. and you press "next".

    11 guess what... no error!

    12. a window appeared asking me if I wanted to do a full restore, or I want to select specific folders or files.

    13. I selected the folders I wanted to restore and bingo... it their restored smoothly.

    14. so that the next time see a mistake, try to continue with him... ;)

I don't know if this will help, but it does not provide much information about the process (when it works).  I hope you find any error or discrepancy in your procedure and it will clear up and allow you to restore.

    I hope this helps.
