Bad JPEG quality

When I do a cover of the video of a JPG file, zoom in and out. The quality seems to be really bad. The images are 2000 x 2000 and it seems to work fine in previous versions of first (cs5, cs6). But now it does not give the same quality in CC.

Someone knows what to do?

Best,

Roy

Check if "adapt to the size of the image" is enabled/disabled.

Turn it off so that the JPG is imported to its native resolution.

I'm not sure, but what might happen is that, with TF enabled size scale, he forces the width in pixels 2000 to be visible in the width of 1280.  Therefore, you can be overcompenasting the amount of pull-in for your 20%.  Just a theory!

  • Lightroom 4: beginners about Jpeg quality issues, settings, and workflow etc.

I'm about to start editing pictures and using Lr (4) for the first time. This is why I have a plethora of questions about JPEG and Lr 4 files. I apologize in advance for the obscene length and perhaps bad English.

I currently shoot RAW, but I have thousands of JPEG files. I would like to avoid losing the quality of JPEG images (by re-record and recompression unnecessarily) and be able to manage and edit them as efficiently as possible.

Could you please confirm or correct the following assumptions:

1 Lightroom 4 only re-record and re-compress JPEG images when you export the. So there's no loss of quality, no matter how much and how many times you change (in the develop module or by altering the metadata by adding keywords etc.) before exporting it. In addition, the exported file is a copy and the original is left as is, then you can continue to work on the photo without loss in Lr.

    2. the metadata record (recording manually or have the "Automatically write changes into XMP" - option on) to the XMP space inside the JPEG file does not cause re-record and recompression of JPEG in a way that would result in losses of quality (it only changes the image of the file part).

3 point number 2 is true even if you choose to include parameters in the metadata to develop by turning 'Include develop settings in metadata in JPEG, TIFF, and PSD files'.

    4. recording of metadata in JPEG format changes the date for change as indicated in the Finder. There is no way to avoid this parameter or dresser.

    5. "automatically write changes into XMP" and "Parameters of development to include it in the metadata in JPEG, TIFF, and PSD files" must be turned off, unless you plan to edit these files in another program that includes the data (for example another copy of Lr, Photoshop, Bridge etc.).

6 original JPEG can be exported without recompression and loss of quality by choosing export as originals. In this case, no retouching (balance of whites etc.) will be visible, but the changes in the metadata will be present (only) if the metadata has been saved in the JPEG described in points 2 and 3.

7 JPEG files can be renamed to import or later without recompression and quality loss (even if this information is not only stored in the Lr catalog because the name is also changed in Finder etc.).

    8. There is no advantage to convert a JPEG to a lossless (i.e. DNG) format if you plan to change them in Lr and then export the final versions.

9 goal profiles only work on RAW images. However, you can change lenses profiles to make them fully applicable to JPEG as well. All you need to do is change "True" to "False" in the following line of the XMP file:

    [stCamera:CameraRawProfile] True [/ stCamera:CameraRawProfile]

    10. the JPEG file should never be resaved in JPEG, but in Lr is not possible without exporting.

11 create virtual copies, moving between folders etc. does not cause recompression or quality loss.

    And a few more questions:

    A. are there any (other) settings or practical should I be aware of or avoid in order to not lose the JPEG quality?

    B. Si the workflow with JPEG files are different in someway RAW workflow in order to achieve maximum quality / efficiency.

    C. is there a separate edition of the presets for JPEG and RAW files? If so, FIRST presets can be applied to the JPEG format as long as the look resulting is nice?

    (D) where can I find good profiles goal JPEG (for the K-5 of Pentax or Olympus XZ-1), free JPEG editing presets and Lr tutorials on editing of JPEG, such as how you can change certain settings without going overboard etc. ?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hello @all,

I have a SAT. 755 (OS: win7 64 bit). The webcam returns a very bad image quality and I noticed that the driver is from the year 2006 (Microsoft, Version 6.1.760.17514).

I installied the last 'pilot' vom site of Toshiba (version 2.0.0.19), which actually just updated the CAM software.

It is a fact, that this webcam is of very poor quality, or could someone please help me improve the photos, which are not only in poor Skype, but also when I just test the cam.

  • Bad image quality of interactive PDF

    Help!

A logo that is placed in InDesign and exported as an interactive PDF does not appear correctly.

The customer says it is damaged on your laptop. Some letters in the logo seem more than others and some seem thicker.

It is a vector file of RGB. I tried, eps, pdf, png, jpeg. I redesigned the letters. I copied and pasted into another document. I reduced the extent of it. I've copied from illustrator directly in Indesign.

I changed the management of image compression, JPEG quality and resolution in the export to interactive PDF settings.

I don't know what else to try.

The customer declares to 200% the logo seems ok in acrobat, but full screen, the problem returns.

    Help, please!

    The version I.

Open the logo and care than I and L are not replaced by a single line. Add one or two anchor points in straight lines.

L and I are often converted in PDF export in simple lines instead of rectangles, because it saves space, but it allows the bolder appearance on screen.

  • Bad picture quality

After browsing through previous discussions I don't think that this issue has been addressed. I'm looking to take advantage of the features of full-screen Muse but am struggling with the very bad image quality on a 27 "screen. I import the files to 2560px width, but every time I have 'place' of these files, they automatically have the size to 2040px. In addition, Muse is downsampling these heavlily images resulting in very poor image quality. I'd rather have an excellent image quality and slow loading times than not.

Incidentally, I noticed the "swipe" function does not work outside of the ipad and iPhone, although this was not always the case. At one time this feature was present on the sites office, too. Please advise!

Finally, did anyone aware of a way to activate keyboard shortcuts (for example: left and right arrow keys navigate to the images in full screen, / arrows navigate between fixing elements, etc.).

    Thank you!

    Hello

Regarding the browser keyboard shortcuts, we cannot conceive that the use of any widget, or you can go with any custom coding.

But global keyboard shortcuts will work fine with pages on almost all browsers without incorporation of any code, you can check here:

  • Reducing JPEG quality sometimes works

I did over a hundred of files flash with JPEG files imported and have had no trouble getting the global jpeg quality setting to affect them. Now, I have a similar ten fla files that a contractor has done and I can't get the Jpeg quality setting to affect the published files.

The point is that I know that this setting can have an effect on imported bitmap jpeg images because I did so many times now.

Now, in my own projects, all jpeg bitmaps are set to 'use document default quality' and affects the global setting. The contractor projects have the same settings, but the global setting has no effect.

The only thing that I am wary of is its point of original bitmap properties that can be found on his computer, not mine. The fact that its sources are not available would have something to do with it?

    Rob Mack

Here's the answer. My previous several thousand jpeg images were saved with the progressive switch put on the market.

Obviously, Flash Compress bitmaps to no progressive JPEG. If the assets are already in this format, then flash using the original file as that is the default value. However, if the assets of jpeg's progressive format then Flash has recompress it.

The effect is that progressive JPEGs can be affected by the global project jpeg quality settings but non-porgressive JPEG can be affected by settings.

How this affects a user depends on what you want to do. In my case, I do dozens and dozens of files that look a lot like slideshows and it is more convenient adjust compression in the project settings to get the file size down. For most users, they went to a bit of trouble getting a 'just' jpeg image and do not want the global setting to assign it. Most often users they would save no progressive JPEG files, in fact given that the setting of the project will jump them is the best way forward during the mixing of the jpeg and png images.

For someone in my situation where you need to be able to Compress bitmaps, you either register with progressive JPEG files on or you save bitmaps in PNG format. Overall, using PNG will probably cause less damage to overall image, but it increases your storage a little needs.

So, what happens if you have saved the JPEG files in the wrong format? Perhaps the best choice would be to return to photoshop and put in place a batch action to re-record everything with progressive or not. In the FLA file, you can select all the bitmaps and update them in bulk.

  • SVE14123CNB with camera of 64-bit windows 8 is to give a very bad image quality.

My sony vaio SVE14123CNB with camera of 64-bit windows 8 is to give a very bad image quality.

I have compained several times to sony, but they said that there is problem with windows 8 and this laptop model.

I think that this response is not the solution to the problem, as it is my work that still hinder once. This laptop has with exmor HD webcam, so we expect the quality of the picture from the webcam to be strong, but it is dark, blurry, vary hard to identify someone even. It is even lower than some old VGA cam.

    Please provide a rigid solution.

    Hello krishna_18,

The most common cause of this problem is a poorly lit room.  Please try to use the camera in well-lit areas.  Since there is no light or flash on the camera device, it is not able to work as well in dark situations.

As to the answer before someone gave you "problem with Windows 8";  What they probably meant is that this laptop does not come with any software the camera included.  Therefore, the "Camera" app Windows 8 is what is natively provided and used.  This application is very limited in options and resolution.  Using an alternative app camera of your choice can also improve options, parameters, and results.

  • Bad display quality PDF - export to AutoCAD

My goal is to effectively publish my drawings of the multi of AutoCAD Map to a single PDF file for e-mailing to my clients who do not have AutoCAD and want to open a PDF file on their device of choice.

The file should look like it will print seen on the screen of the client with any what Viewer PDF (web or desktop) and it must have a sufficient resolution for printing on paper 11 x 17, without loss of quality.

The problem I have is with my Appendix at the end of my output document pages.

The appendix is made from the material data sheets (files to PDF in AutoCAD) and framed by my title block, and some PDF files appear badly on the screen. (Some of them display wrong but fine print, but is not a acceptable deliverable to my customer).

Seems a perfectly good Source PDF for the last page of the manufacturer: http://Unirac.com/wp-content/uploads/BSK-PDF-Manager/6_SM-2703-CERTIFICATION_6.PDF

If you zoom in you can see, it is a raster image, but there must be something not-so-good happening results to look so bad when the source is perfectly readable.

Drawing attention to the last page where the problem lies:

Here is a screenshot of the last page of this file read through the PDF of Google Drive Viewer: http://screencast.com/t/VeMOFeNNYjB

This file was printed in the format PDF by using the command post of AutoCAD LT 2015 on my mac with the latest OS: El Capitan 10.11.4

    https://files.Acrobat.com/a/preview/9cd47e59-ded0-470A-ADAC-6aed8cc10338

This file was printed in the format PDF by using the command post from 2014 AutoCAD on my PC for Windows 10

    https://files.Acrobat.com/a/preview/c2ad141b-E1BC-4C18-A52A-fbe09537df38

This file is 1/5th the size of that produced by my mac but still as bad the last page displays.

    To summarize:

Question 1) 5 x greater PDF export from the Mac version of AutoCAD

Question 2) terribly screen display of some PDF files when PDF raster sources are set in the AutoCAD file.

I won't pretend to know if this is a bug with AutoDesk product or Adobe, so I reported the problem to the two companies.

Adobe: Let me know if there is anything more I can give you to help you determine and solve this problem.

I have downloaded and open the files that you pointed to.

    Observations.

    (1) none of the questions here are associated with Adobe products. With any component Acrobat PDF files were not created.

    (2) the file created from AutoCAD on Mac OS is entirely to 600 dpi color raster Imaging by using ZIP compression, on the other hand, the file created from AutoCAD under Windows uses text and vector where possible with compressed lossy JPEG raster images. This explains the huge difference in size (and ironically quality - the smaller file is better)!

    (3) the pages of http://unirac.com/wp-content/uploads/bsk-pdf-manager/6_SM-2703-CERTIFICATION_6.pdf are in fact images JPEG2000 compressed at 150 dpi with no text and no vector. Even if Adobe desktop and mobile software PDF has no problem with raster JPEG2000 images, various third-party viewers are not so robust. The artifacts you see via http://screencast.com/t/VeMOFeNNYjB are likely due to a weak implementation of JPEG2000. JPEG high quality or compression ZIP (Flate) would have eliminated this particular problem!

  • Bad sound quality

I've been using Apple music on Android since last year and I also tested all the main services continuously looking for the one that fits for me. Here are my comments.

    Positive:

    1. the interface is pretty good
    2. playback of gapless albums works very well for me, a lot of competitors have problems with it, and it was important for me
3 integration of own files works fine on my Xperia Z5, I had problems with this on Z1 Compact

    Negative:

Sound quality. It is bad or even terrible, depending on the type of music. I don't think it's a matter of encoding. I think that Apple music flows in 256 kbps AAC (is this correct?), competitor g. MP3 320 kbps and 320 kbps OGG competitor s., I think. Thus, the difference in practice should be negligible, I think. But there is a huge difference in the listening experience.

I use a Sony Z5 and headphones MDR-1ABT, which is quite a decent facility, and I love the sound of the G or S. The look is fantastic, bass is large and acute lovely, dynamic range is excellent. If I activate it Department HX from Sony on the phone that there is even better, it makes you go "wow". Everything just fantastic.

Listening to the music of Apple experience is just the opposite. It looks like little in 1990s FM radio, the sound is extremely stable compared to G or S., the bass is very low, not sharp, flat. The application does not meet the parameters of its Android, there is therefore no equalizer and no HX Department. I can't listen to music of Apple for more than 15-20 minutes, when we know the sound quality of G or S, it's just not nice.

Competitor T has the same question or 'feature' - the sound of Android settings are not respected by the app.

So my question is, are there plans to fix it in the next release or 1.0, or should I rather build my playlists elsewhere? It will respect the sound of Android settings, like Equalizer / Clear Audio / Department HX? I like Apple interface and feel better and prefer to continue my subscription to Apple's music, but I can't stand the sound flat...

    See you soon

It seems very per device, Apple music on my HTC a M7 sound worse than my friends Samsung Galaxy that sounds like my iPhone.

I just installed Windows 7 but have lost my projector - external source - FN + F5 functionality
It seems to work, but a bad quality image is on the screen and is then lost less than a second

Are there drivers available for Windows 7, I need or it's another question?

    Appreciate any help

    Hello

You have installed a display driver on your laptop? I doubt you will find a driver for Windows 7 at the moment, but in most cases, the driver for Vista works on Windows 7 too.
    Check it!

Do you really need Windows 7 or you installed it? It s not released yet and at the moment, the socket driver is not very good.

  • Status of bad jpeg JPGDEC 23

I have an application that calls the camera uses a FileSystemJournalListener to retrieve the recently taken picture and adds a thumbnail of that picture on the screen of the application that triggered the invocation.

    This all works fine.

However, on occasion (and I can't determine exactly when or how) debug display "JPGDEC jpeg bad state 23.

I don't know what this means, but it causes the recovered image to show that almost half of the sticker after calling createBitmapFromBytes.

It seems to happen only with certain images or images taken by the camera.

Any suggestions for what it is?

It turns out that the combined Thread to check if the image is taken was great solved the problem. The Bitmap.creatBitmapFromBytes () was throwing an OutOfMemoryException. The user has been taking photos in the Large (2048 x 1068) resolution. I solved the problem by checking the length of bytes defining a scale for the thumbnail. Thanks for the help.

  • Image of JPEG quality problem

Until yesterday, when you save an image in JPEG I click on "save under", select my folder and the picture quality dialog box would jump to the top and I then select 12/Maximum as the quality of the image and click 'OK '.  Thereafter, whenever I save a picture, Photoshop applies the same settings that the previous backup that is, 12/Maximum has been preselected and I just press OK and move to my next picture.

However, since yesterday Photoshop is no longer pre apply the last setting used and is default quality 8/high each time.  If whenever I record, I am experiencing now drag the slider to 12 it is kind of interrupt my workflow.

I tried to remove my preferences settings in the hope that this glitch would be fixed by resetting the program, but the problem persists.

Everyone knows this and how can I solve this problem?

    Thank you.

I had to reboot my computer for an update and since then, it seems to have fixed itself.  Who knows what happened?  Thanks for all their help
