Bad Pool Caller error win8.1 Lenovo ThinkPad2
Since the upgrade to 8.1, I suffered the BSOD bad_pool_caller error. The Tablet originally came with trial of McAfee anti-virus that I removed to replace with ZoneAlarm; Then, I downloaded and ran the program to delete McAfee dll from their site - no help.
I found a thread on this in the communities of Lenovo who blamed the video driver. Yesterday (11/14) I followed the instructions to download Intel_CLV_installer_PR7_A05_CRT47_ZPE.zip on the Dell site and install which was the previous version of the driver - 9.14.3.1130. S. still broken.

ATER, remove all traces of Kaspersky and following the instructions below, I could get a stable installation of ZoneAlarm.
1. download the latest ZA 12 version http://server.iad.liveperson.net/hc/...10&action=view

2. remove your current version of ZA (running XP Windows Add/Remove Programs/Windows 7/8 uninstall a program)
3. remove other security tools installed. Use http://www.appremover.com/ to check a second time with no left overs are present.
4. clean your system and registry with the free Ccleaner.exe
free CCleaner<= click="">=>
5. download to your desktop and run the ZA removal tool.<= click="">=>
Now restart computer after you run the ZA removal tool.
6. now install the latest version of ZA without touching all of the default settings,
and do not restore the settings of the old installation.

Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Get it here
Boot from the CD and let it run at least 5 or 6 passes.
Remember, anytime Memtest reports errors, it can be bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.
Test the sticks individually and if you find a good, test it in all slots.If a well-known stick fails in a card mother slot but not an another is probably the slot.
2-Driver Verifier (for full instructions, see our wiki here)
Using Driver Verifier is a dubious proposition.
Most of the time it will crash and it will tell you what is the driver, but sometimes, it will crash and will not tell you the driver.Sometimes it will crash until you can connect to Windows. If you can't mode without failure, then you will have to resort to editing the registry offline to disable driver verifier.I suggest that you first back up your data and make sure you have access to another computer so you can contact us in case of problems.
Then do a system restore point (so you can restore the system using the functionality of Vista/Win7 Startup Repair).
Here is the procedure:
Go to Start and type "auditor" (without the quotes) and press enter
Select "create of the custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next".Select "Select individual settings from the list complete" and click "next".
Select all elements EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation"Do not check to win 8 Concurrency stress test and the verification of the conformity of DDI, click "next".
Select "Select the driver names from a list", then click on "next".
Select all drivers NOT supplied by Microsoft, and then click "Next".
Select 'Finish' on the next page.
Restart the system and wait as he crashed to blue screen.

I got the dreaded Blue Screen of Death on my laptop Acer Aspire E1 - 750 cheap but good mood who gave error code 'Bad Pool Header', then 'Bad Pool Caller'. He couldn't get past this screen at start up. Using Windows 8.0, no devices (in fact, I was trying to plug a Kobo in the USB port, and does not recognize him, he was charging, led me to restart the laptop, to achieve the above error messages.
Very surprised because it is relatively new, and the previous Amilo (Windows XP) I had, had 8 years of operation without BSOD.

I've been following this BSOD issue related to SupportAssist and went up to declare and work with PC-DOCTOR to try to find a solution to this (i.e. gave them crash logs, memory.dmp file, etc.). Long story short, I got a response back from them email 24/03/16, who informed me that a new version of SupportAssist would become available on 03/25/16.
Guess what? I think THEY FINALLY FIXED! I downloaded SupportAssist version 1.2.6793.01, and ran Express Mode, Mode of Stress and successfully expanded Mode! No BSOD. No crashes. No errors. I ran various scenarios:
-Ran immediately after DLing without rebooting. Worked successfully without BSOD.
-A ran after the closure of my lip and let the computer laptop 'sleep' for a few hours. Returned, pulled up SupportAssist and once more ran all tests without problem and tested the other menus, options, etc. within the stability programme. Everything is good.
-Stop the laptop; left for a few hours. He pulled up, started and re-run again all 3 tests and played around with various options/menu/etc. All successful. No BSOD.My test is in only 3 days. I'll give you another update as soon as I went a week with a stable system. However, all this looks like promising review before each of us w / this question could not keep same SupportAssist on our laptop because it would lead to term to BSOD if we ran it or not.
If it is true fixed - YESSSS! All the hard work, frustration and patience has finally paid off for us.
(BTW: this can troubleshoot BSOD for several laptops Alienware w / Support help - 15 thru 18 series (i.e. 17 R2 R3, R2 R3 15, 14, 18, R3, etc.))

The pilot checked and related to Avast. I would remove it and USE MSE in its place.
Avast can be a cause of BSOD.
Please delete and replace by Microsoft Security Essentials at LEAST FOR TESTER

This phenomenon was related to BdfNdisf6.sys Firewall NDIS6 BitDefender filter driver. I would remove at least to test.

. Hi, I have xp sp3, and after the established cat off for switching on the pc appears the error message mentioned. I tried f8 for boot from the sp3 installation CD and ends up with the BAD_POOL_CALLER message. That's why I can't launch 'r' for recovery apparently safe mode. If you want to make a bootable CD from the Console of the Recovery XP (no XP media required) and then to implement the proposal of Microsoft Support Enginner Halima S and check if it helps.
