Bad Pool Header Windows 8 ASUS

So it's a friends laptop Asus Model x54c-bbk17.

Running Windows 8, 8.1 no sound.

That's all I know about the machine. They turned him over to me and told me to fix (I have set many peoples computers when something goes wrong and they panic). All that they had me as the screen would not come after that they gave him to someone else to fix.

When I turn it on, BSOD comes up with bad pool header and doesn't go away unless I force physically closed to the bottom of the machine. Don't have a recovery disk (don't know what's good if I can't get to start the device options). I have that the machine NEVER Windows support at all so telling me to access things in Windows will help for me.

What should I do?

The HPs, they have a thing that if you hold an F key, you turn on the machine, it forces the latter in safe mode. Is there something like this? How can I load to the top of the boot device selection or Windows?

Thank you

Edit: So I turned on it immediately after that I posted this. Nothing has no hurry at all, and it happens with Asus Preload Wizard. She did what it self? What is happening with this machine...

It's my generic how updates of appropriate driver: (update of your key drivers and BIOS)

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

    Hello

I have problems with my laptop, its only 6 months.

I have Windows 8, last week I had the bad_pool_header error blue screen happens. Every time, all of a sudden, the computer restarts with this blue screen, I do not seem to do something specific, so it is difficult to identify this as the problem. the programs I normally have running are Internet explorer, Word, Windows media player. My internet has been a strange month, many pages not to load not except if I refresh several times.

my subscription of 2013 to kaspersky was about to run out, so I downloaded the demo of kaspersky 2014 to see if I wanted to buy it. I did not uninstall the 2013 before you download and install the 2014. Maybe that's my problem because the bad pool header error has not occurred since then. However the slow opening refreshing Web pages longer.

Someone suggested to a clean boot to find the problem, but as I say, I don't know what to look for because all three times this happened randomly, so I don't know what to do once I am in a clean boot.

Please can you give me some clear advice, im not a expert so step by step please!

  • Error BSOD Bad Pool Header - Satellite C50-A-157

    Hello

I get a blue screen bad pool header error.

It started after I updated some drivers, was one of the drivers does not work properly since, it's the IWD bus enumerator, it has a yellow exclamation point and this error, Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

I can't find a solution for this driver so I had to disable, I think that it is related to the bad pool header as I get it a lot more since the update. This often happens when I'm on the web, just from crashes and goes into the blue screen.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Error BAD POOL HEADER when trying to open AOL

Whenever I try to open aol 9.5 my system crashes with an error BAD-POOL-HEADER

    HiTimbo7,

A pool header problem is a problem with the allocation of memory for Windows. Device driver problems are probably the most common, but it can have various causes, including defective or other writing problems disc and problems with some routers. (In theory, RAM problems would be suspect for pool memory problems).

    Method 1:

To resolve this problem, you need to add AOL under the prevention of execution of data and to check whether the problem is resolved, follow these steps mentioned below.

    a. open the start menu.
    b. right click on computer, then click Properties.
    c. click on advanced system settings. (in the upper left green area)
    d. click on the button continue in the UAC prompt.
    e. click the button settings in terms of Performance.

    f. click the Data Execution Prevention tab.
    g. turn on DEP for essential programs of Windows Vista only and Services

NOTE: This will turn on DEP for only the 32-bit system programs and services. It is the default setting.
    (A) dot turn on DEP for the most part the programs Windows and services only.

    (B) proceed to step 9.
    h. turn on DEP for all programs and Services except for those that you select.

NOTE: This enables DEP for all 32-bit programs with the exception of those that you add to the list. The program listed will have DEP off for her.

    (A) dot turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.

    (B) click on add to add the programs (32-bit) that you do not want to use the DEP feature.

    (C) navigate to the file AOL.exe of the program you want to add to the DEP exclusion list and select it, then click Open.

    i. click OK to apply.

    j. restart the computer to apply the changes.

    Method 2:

    Step 1:

If the problem persists then I suggest you try the cleanboot.

Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

See the following article in the Microsoft KB for more information on how to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

    All,

I've been following this BSOD issue related to SupportAssist and went up to declare and work with PC-DOCTOR to try to find a solution to this (i.e. gave them crash logs, memory.dmp file, etc.). Long story short, I got a response back from them email 24/03/16, who informed me that a new version of SupportAssist would become available on 03/25/16.

Guess what? I think THEY FINALLY FIXED! I downloaded SupportAssist version 1.2.6793.01, and ran Express Mode, Mode of Stress and successfully expanded Mode! No BSOD. No crashes. No errors. I ran various scenarios:

-Ran immediately after DLing without rebooting. Worked successfully without BSOD.
-A ran after the closure of my lip and let the computer laptop 'sleep' for a few hours. Returned, pulled up SupportAssist and once more ran all tests without problem and tested the other menus, options, etc. within the stability programme. Everything is good.
-Stop the laptop; left for a few hours. He pulled up, started and re-run again all 3 tests and played around with various options/menu/etc. All successful. No BSOD.

My test is in only 3 days. I'll give you another update as soon as I went a week with a stable system. However, all this looks like promising review before each of us w / this question could not keep same SupportAssist on our laptop because it would lead to term to BSOD if we ran it or not.

If it is true fixed - YESSSS! All the hard work, frustration and patience has finally paid off for us.

I can't not understand how to solve this problem, I searched everywhere on the internet and I tried solutions told me, I don't know if I have done wrong or what, but please help me. If I can't understand that this point I will be without a computer until I am able to take it to a professional, please help! If you would like more information, just tell me what and how to get it! Thank you so much in advance!

These were related to AVG Technologies antivirus, Anti-Spyware, anti-spam, firewall and new web protection.  I remove it and replace it with MSE

THE MESSAGE ARRIVES AND ME TOLD TO DO SOMETHING WITH THE MEMORY OF WHAT IS BIOS

    blushel16,
The BIOS settings are part of the motherboard.  You should check with the PC manufacturer to obtain information on access to the BIOS and change the settings.
However, I suspect may be a physical problem with the RAM you have.  You can download and run this Diagnostic tool memory. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers
