Ban + DVD burner + cable compatibility

So I'm considering buying a ban docking station for my X 201.

Lenovo offers three different types of recorders of DVD for the ban. I see no real difference between them. If anyone can sound?

In addition, Lenovo DisplayPort to DVI - D is $ 25, monoprice has an adapter for $10. MonoPrice asserts that their adapter is passive and requires the DisplayPort port to be able to carry signals DVI. This is the case with the ban or do I have to buy Lenovo adapter?

Thank you.

UltraBay slim is 9.5 mm, and ultrabay enhanced drive 12.7 mm. You cannot hold the latter into the former.

Just get the ultrabay slim drive is available for T400, T500, W500. 43N3214 should be serial ata ultrabay slim dvd burner, so yes it's one you should get.

  • Install external DVD burner on NB200

    Hello
It is a first post of time following the purchase of a NB200 using OS WinXP installed standard. With the NB200, I also bought a LG GP08LU10 "External Super Multi DVD Rewriter". When I plug the DVD climb in the NB200 it powers and the NB200 recognizes hardware such as a CD-ROM drive. However, it is disabled. The Assistant added of Harware WinXP running causes the message "this device is disabled (Code 22)".

A check of the CD that came with the DVD reveals that there are no drivers on the CD only DVD burning and playback software.

I plugged the DVD player on my laptop Lenovo that is also running Windows XP and unity "plugged and played" as you would expect.

A search on the web based on product LG GP08 ID creates very little success with one or two it seems to describe similar symptoms, but not solutions. More talk about the installation of a driver, but I was not able to locate a driver on the LG site (or as I said, on the product CD).

The DVD player comes with a 'standard' USB cable and a USB power cable. Each single cable and two cables with the NB200 plugged into the power supply and it still is not plug and play.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Kind regards
    TESA

    Hello

According to the Microsoft page, 22 error means that the device is either disabled or not started. Eventually he hasn t started in your case.

There are several proposals for solution.
One of them told you he must remove the Device Manager and reboot the laptop.
After that new reboot of the operating system should recognize the DVD drive connected again.

On the other hand, you could try to remove all USB hubs and controllers from the list of devices USB and should restart the laptop again.
This help to refresh the USB drivers.

I not quite sure if deleting upper and lower filters change anything but maybe what it s worth m to try.
Start the registry and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

After that, restart the laptop and check the functionality of DVD USB drive s.

My DVD burner on my M70-191 (has my * a UJ-8415) refuses to recognize most CD and fails when you try to burn the DVD, with various errors. I've tried different types and different burning software. Re-installed, cleaned up by car drivers. No luck.

So, I'm looking for a new drive... where can I buy a suitable replacement?

    Hello Steve

First of all, I think you should buy the same drive. Doing this will allow you to possibly avoid compatibility problems. I have too many Satellite M70 and the optical disk drive is really good.

I advise to use Google and you will find many online shops where you can order the new ODD.

    Hello

I put t found any information if this drive is compatible with the Satellite Pro 4600, but you should be careful to replace the drive.
You should check the dimensions of the car. Very important is the drive (master, slave, csel) settings because it is not possible to change this settings as on the usual desktop drive.
I'm not sure about the settings on the Satellite Pro 4600 but the ASP Toshiba should know that.

  • What dvd burner is compatible with Tecra A2

    Hello

I want to know what dvd burners are compatible with my tecra A2 because I bought a dvd burner and does not work with the tecra A2 (IDE1 #error).
There is nothing about it in the manual.

    Can you help me?
    Thank you.

This #error IDE1 appears because of the evil master\slave\c-salt settings.
All Toshiba slim line discs works in cable (CSEL) default selection mode. In other words, the player receives a signal from the laptop it say if it needs to act as a master or a slave device on the IDE channel.

Some portable computers on the market do not work according to this specification, but use the way inverted CSEL signal to save a bit of power electric. If you are installing a drive running in standard CSEL mode in such a laptop, the inverted signal will require to work evil master/slave mode giving the reader the logical address as the hard drive installed on the same IDE channel. Accordingly, the optical drive, HARD drive or both cannot be detected by the BIOS and is not usable. Some laptops may display an error message at the start, for example 'IDE #1 error"or similar.

In some user manuals, you can find information about compatible CD/DVD players.
    Did you check that?

If you find any details on a compatible player then contact ASP in your country for info. You can also order such driver of these guys here.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A20-130: SD-R2412 cannot read that DVD burned in some optical drives

    Hello

I have a laptop Satellite A20-130, running Windows XP and Ununtu Dapper in a double score. My 2nd laptop is not a Toshiba. When I burned the DVD (DVD + R) with my laptop Toshiba no and played against them in my Satellite everything has worked well.

However, when I bought a new optical drive for my 2nd my Toshiba laptop suddenly stopped playing DVDs burned in this new optical disc (I was using exactly the same brand of disc and the same format - DVD + R). I tried the old DVD (those burned in the laptop before that material from the optical drive has been upgraded) and they can still read perfectly well.

This problem applies to both Ubuntu and Windows XP. Computer support portable 2nd said that sounds like a problem of firmware with my Toshiba. I updated the driver for my optical drive Toshiba R2412 SD (which according to the manual of the leader, seems to fix a DVD-Ram compatibility issue). Now the reader occasionally reads some of the new DVDs burnt (after doing lots of noise and waiting for ages), but more often that not, I get an error message saying that the device cannot be read, because the format is wrong or the device needs to be formatted.

This computer non-Toshiba laptop read DVD, it burns using the optical drive improved perfectly.

    Hello

Satellite A20 is old enough laptop model, and after intensive use, it may be that the disc is more sensitive. If all this happens occasionally there no explanation just why this happens.

I know it's pretty boring, but I don't see any magic solution. In the end, you should test with new disc.

  • What caused my DVD burner, to stop working

OK, my main hard drive is SATA, if it is relevant to anyone who can help me that I don't know, but I'd rather just give too much information than not enough. I had to go and change my diet because he could not support my new DVD of LG Super Multi burner. Once I replaced it, it worked fine, I then a day later added a HDD IDE to put in shape, it did not work, I realized I should enable in my bios. I did, none of my devices would start and the computer would not go past the initial splash screen. I unplugged my hard drive and the computer starts correctly. now the hard drive does not work, I could care less because it's not as important to me as my NEW DVD burner. Also no power at all not going through my burner. I have plug into my diet and nothing happens. I fear he may have been fried somehow, but I don't know. I even tried other IDE cables on my power supply to power. nothing works! Please help me to find out why the * he decided to stop working completely. Thank you and excuse my language ^_^ didn't need to make the drive master/slave, like I said I don't like hard disk, he won. but the DVD burner is now completely insensitive. This is my problem, why she will not receive any power. It is a question, I want to do light, so keep in mind that I don't like hard disk, just my DVD ROM not working

  • LG supermulti dvd burner is not detected by the system.

I wanted to install ATI RADEON HD 4350 and so I uninstalled the driver Intel (r) GMA. I installed the card on the motherboard and I have installed the driver provided by the manufacturer using their CD and I also did other necessary things. Everything worked perfectly. Then in the driver user interface, I saw two monitors. I selected one of them, without any judgement and turns off the computer. Later, when I put it on I saw there was not on my screen and indicator showed natural signal, which was red. So I uninstalled the card and connect the monitor to the onboard connector cable.

Sometimes the HDD and LG supermulti dvd burner got detected (both or one of them) and sometimes they were not. When they were done detected the speed and performance of the machine was very poor. Monitor has also not getting detected in Device Manager. Then I managed to uninstall the video adapter driver and is also further things to slove the problem:

Checking the SATA connections (my HDD is on the SATA1 and LG supermulti dvd burner is SATA 2), checking the other connections, Clearing RTC RAM etc, but nothing gave me a permanent solution.

Then I did a BIOS update and I did an upgrade to Windows XP SP3, stay inside Windows and I also reinstalled driver Intel (r) GMA (new version).

Now the problem is the drive is detected but supermulti LG dvd writer is not. But now the monitor is in my device manager and performance is good. Now what should I do to the system so that it could detect LG supermulti dvd burner?

    Two other points are:

    1. when I was using the video card my system was attacked by a Trojan horse, but now it's OK after running a full scan using KIS2011 and take necessary measures.

2 is powered for the LG supermulti dvd burner because it is to open when I am pressing the button.

    System Specs:

    OS: Win XP SP3 x 32

MB:Asus P5QPL-AM (it has integrated video card)

The problem has been resolved by running a scan for hardware changes in Device Manager. I did it before but this time it worked.

Windows Vista operated computer that has worked well so far, now Winsows Media Player does not recognize my burner. Tried to do the upadting for my burner,

but said that everything is up to date, can someone help me?

    Hello

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)
Playback of CD and DVD). So it is not unusual for parts from 1 or 2 to not work so that others do
    correctly.

Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

Brand of the CD or DVD drive can also be the problem. Low quality (cheap brands) are always problematic.

CD/DVDs have a tolerance + - and your can read/write on the edge outside these discs
tolerances. They may be delivered, but it is generally more economical to replace the disk.

RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles\0001\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Use DevManView to locate the CD/DVD in the registry (be careful and do a prior Restore Point)
nothing change) - find the DevManView device and then make a right click on it free in RegEdit.

DevManView - free - an alternative to the standard Windows Device Manager, which displays all the
devices and their properties in flat table, instead of the tree viewer

    I hope this helps.
