• bandwidth of router-switch concern

  I have a router with integrated 10/100 switch linksys wireless.  I need increase the bandwidth on the wired side and plans to put a switch 10/100/1000 between the router and the cable devices.  Given that the routing table is stored on the router, will be the speed of the slower speed of the router switch?  I don't want to get a switch of concert and brought 100 between the wired devices.

  The router will not slow down the switch.

  The routing is no concern on a switch. Routing is only between networks, for example between your network and the internet.

  An ethernet switch extends the ethernet network. On the inside of your LAN packets are not routed IP but address by devices ethernet mac addresses.

  Between two devices connected to your local network, you will see the speed that is available on the way between these two devices. If the path is entirely 1000 Mbit/s, then it will be the speed that you see. So, if you get an ethernet Gigabit switch disconnect all devices from the router and connect them all to the Gigabit switch passed to the router, then you have gigabit between all your LAN devices except for traffic to and from the router, which is essentially the internet traffic.

  I tried to do the config in the identical to the #1 switch #2 switch, but something still does not work.

  This is probably a configuration issue VLAN, or what?

  Hi Ken, the interfaces between switches must both vlan of the port.

  VLAN 1

  VLAN 2

  port 1 connects to port 1 of the second switch

  The ports between switches must be vlan unidentified native, all other VLAN Tag. In my example, 1u, 2 t.

• Bandwidth limits

  We got 4 PC group residential all the connected to the router v7.0 of linksys wrt54g (which got 2 mb flash and cannot be improved with limits on the use of bandwidth for each port). To remedy this, I tried on 1 pc which is an older hp pavilion to reduce the bandwidth in the group windows 7 QoS policies advance settings by selecting the level 2 which should be 1-2 MB instead of the faster, which is 16 MB. But after the change and restart according to speedtest.net, it is still 16...

  BTW, problem is of course that, when some users to download a large part through torrents, internet of the other pc will slow down.

  All PC'm deepfreeze so when frozen, any State is again at the restart. If users are allowed to install something private, although should not be on the PC after the reboot.

  I live on a boat and am sometimes lucky enough to have the public wifi from a port of Marina or the city, but I'm usually limited by my 2 GB of monthly access "hot spot" on my iPhone. Creative cloud tries constantly to update NOW and store things IN THE CLOUD... I can't do it. I tried locking the CC, but the next thing I know, I think that he has consulted the cloud through some avenue, of which I was not aware.   You can download only the applications you need the desktop CC application.

  Otherwise you can simply disable the Sync feature as mentioned in the getting started with Creative Cloud connection

  My current setup is two CAT 6500 with 1 JOINT installed in each follow-up networks VIRTUAL by SPAN. My question is what happens when there is say 'too much' traffic? the traffic is not qued is it? or is it left alone to pass. I don't want to introduce any latency/bottlenecks on the network. I can't find the documents on how they react to situations like this. Any help would be great thanks.

  The person who set up my office of 3770K Core i7 with 16 GB of RAM at 1600 mHz installed map GT640 nVidia with 2 GB memory DDR3. He said that it was a good (low cost) card for video editing because it has 384 CUDA cores - very useful for video editing. I'm pretty ignorant on graphics cards, but as the power consumption low, 65 watts and deemed cool temperature resistance. I have read since DDR5 memory would have been much faster due to a higher bandwidth memory - say 80-90 GB per second compared to 28.5 Gb per second for DDR3 memory on the GT640 map. I've been after use of economic power. DDR5 memory cards use 110 watts upward and run a lot hotter than the DDR 3 cards, all other things being equal. Really fast cards require a special power and cooling.

  Does anyone know if the bandwidth limited memory is important in video editing? Speed is much more critical in the game than in video editing? Are other attributes such as 384 hearts CUDA, synchronization of nvenc, dedicated encodment, 28nm architecture Kepler, frame buffer of memory 2 GB, 1.3 billion transistors, many units of texture - more important than bandwidth memory in video editing? Limited by memory bandwidth DDR3 affects the image quality?

  Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and all programs are installed on a SSD 120 GB OCZ Agility 3. My data drive is a 1 to 7200 RPM Seagate SATA 3. I have a nice 21 inch ASUS LED monitor and recorder blu - ray LG vs228n.

  I did a lot of editing with PrE 3 with a desktop Dell 3.06 gHz hyperthreading and Win XP. The output and even control the preview was clear and stable. I'm continuing to capture a mini tape dv standard definition of a 3 months Panasonic handycam FireWire, but plan to upgrade to HD 3MOS to flash memory. I do really small control - about 7cm wide - PR10 screen, because the quality of the preview image is much poorer than the quality I experienced with the first elements 3 with Win XP program. This is just an indication of the memory gain in pre 10 previews? I expect the output to be much higher, although still mpeg2-DVD quality until I update my camera. I put the record on the maximum bit rate.

  In any case, despite these reservations with the quality of the preview, the GT640 seems very well on stage. Quality of the image in Photoshop, and online on my computer is excellent.

  I updated the driver nVidia yesterday to version 306.23 display.

One of these is actually a superior product, or the seller does just pay twice as much for the addition of "Business class" to the brand?   Yes, all PROSAFE line has a higher MTBF over SOHO versions, and it has a lifetime warranty hardware thats why the price is a little different. Performance should be the same, although they may have a different hardware and chipsets, the GS208 is the latest version of the GS608, you can consider an update of cheaper material.

  I'm looking for clarification on how the Palo VIC presents the vNIC, how say/control which card vNIC to which ports physical and how best to configure my environment for VMWare.

  Summary of material:

  Blades (full-width) B250 with 2 cards of Palo VIC

  5108 chassis with double FEX (double uplinks from each FEX)

  2 x 6120 controllers with 2 x 10 Gbit links rising each to a pair of Nexus s 5020

  Summary of the software:

  UCS 1.3.0 boot loader, the kernel/system 4.1 version (3) N2(1.2d)

  VMWare vSphere Enterprise Plus 4.1

  According to my interpretation, Cisco and VMWare recommend against bandwidth limiting the interfaces - but prefer to go with actions and ability to burst.

  Therefore, my desired construction is the following:

  for each of the 4 available in B250 blade 10gbit interfaces, I want to have 2 vNIC (1 for VM distributed vSwitch [6Gbit minimum actions, 802. 1 q trunks], 1 for iSCSI [4 Gbit minimum actions, access port/no 802. 1 q trunk]). This means that my Service profile must define 8 vNIC altogether.

  Q1: How can I make sure that I get 1 'data' and 1 'iscsi' vNIC per physical port?

  Q2: how to set a policy to set the minimum bandwidth on each vNIC?

  Q3: How do I control/make sure the binding order correct so that I can script my configuration of vSphere?

  Generation of VMWare will be vswitch distributed containing all the 'data' vNIC, allowing control of network IO with actions defined to manage the various allowances for groups of data ports, console and VMotion. The vNIC iSCSI will each receive a VMKernel port dedicated.

  Our installation program is not the same, but the principles can be applied as we also CIV.  To make sure that we had the installation of ports properly, I put into service six vNIC in UCSM to each host.  I put in service the first vNIC of fabric and the second vNIC fabric B - do not check the box "Fabric Failover"...  Repeat for other network cards for four.  This will give you 4 vNIC by fabric.  Note MAC addresses and which tissue they are attached.

  Then, in case of VC and to configure your hosts, enter the network cards and line up the vmnic and MAC addresses so that you know how they trace.  When you configure your vSwitches, just make sure you add a vmnic from fabric and a fabric vmnic B.    Do this for the Service Console, vmkernel and VM switches.

  If you make this unique environment of VIC inas, it will ensure that your vswitches are attached to every tissue.  I guess you can do this same thing with two VICs, since each card may appear independently in UCSM.

• Ridiculously long download time Sierra.

  I did not start the download Sierra yesterday until after I am home from work here in the Central time zone, thinking the manic rush put to the test the Apple servers would be more after 5 to 6 hours.

  That I was wrong.

  I started the download and was initially thrilled to see it would take less than 30 minutes. But none. After about 25% of the download, I was informed the time needed for downloading amounted to 5-6 hours, and in the course of the next hour, the time required regularly rose at the top, no kidding, "someday, 11 hours."

  So I called my ISP and after I restarted my computer, my router and my modem, I ran Speedtest (see below).

  I then restarted the download, and in a few minutes, the total download time estimated again exploded within 30 minutes for well over a day.

  I have a life, so I gave up the download from one day to the next, with the hope, once again, that the race would be seriously reduced by the time wherever I tried again this morning.

  Ha! I write this, now the estimated download time is "two days."

  I am happy that Apple is a success of these days (I remember the dark days of the mid - 90s), but C'mon - it is of nuts!

  What gives?

  It's a popular download, is a large download, it is free to download but just as importantly, it's a download of TCP/IP, so, to do a checksum for all data sent. It's not like a UDP stream movies Netflix or XBL HD where the data does not have to check so it is much more complex. Your ISP can be the fastest thing out there but it is still limited to the Apple bandwidth limited when something this big and with all these factors and expected goes live.

• Apple TV Remote app using when the personal hotspot

  Due to bandwidth limitations, I am better off using Apple TV via a personal hotspot on my iPad (ATT now plan has unlimited data available).  However, once the TV is connected to the personal hotspot, and Apple TV works very well using the included Apple Remote, if I try to activate the Remote app on the iPad it says unable to connect to a Local network.  You must connect to a WiFi network to control iTunes or Apple TV.  If the iPad app is looking for WiFi while the iPad is broadcasting a Personal Hotspot via WiFi to the Apple TV.

  Is it possible to fix this?  In addition, I sure with Apple TV 4 (latest version) would recognize my Apple's Bluetooth keyboard!

  You have to be on wifi, no way around that. Bluetooth keyboards are not supported at this time. Also, best to check with ATT on the terms of the plan (more connection after certain Butterfly amplifiers and do not permit this type of use).

• Isolate the iPad Pro downloads since Photo Push SD card to iCloud

  I recently made a trip to the coast with my digital SLR camera, an iPad Pro and SD lightning adapter.  In general, I use Photos.app on my rMPB 13 "with a disk external DRIVE containing a reference of all DSLR photos library.  To save space and reduction of risk, I left the combo rMBP/HDD home for this trip.  Download photos DSLR to the iPad was certainly convenient and, at the time, worked very well, especially since I could see both iPhone and blows all DSLR at the same place (learned to love the Apple ecosystem, at least in concept).  All software was up-to-date as of January 3, 2016.

  Unfortunately, when I got home, I realized that I was not only download photos DSLR to my iPad, they were jostled in my iCloud photo library as well.  I love the photo library from iCloud, but I need to use files referenced for my digital SLR to support multiple users on my computer (otherwise, I would need to support the two libraries in double, not to mention space iCloud and Uploader for iPad/download bandwidth Mac).  Now I get files duplicate (a referenced, an iCloud) for each DSLR, even after "deletion" versions iCloud before importing the files referenced using the OS X Photos (photos of iCloud returned the next day).  It's particularly bad for me because it was an important meeting (~ 25 GB) and to capture pictures of the iPhone for local backup, Photos on OS X is configured to download the iCloud library.  As a result, I now have about 25 GB of space gnawed on my limited rMBP SSD with these pictures in double; exactly what I was trying to avoid when setting up my external HARD disc reference library.  I think that delete the photos on the side of iOS of Photos will solve my problem (fingers crossed).

  Thus, in the light of the foregoing, I would like to know if there is a way to create a photo album on iOS which is isolated from the automatic pusher of the iCloud to Apple servers library?  This would allow me to use the iPad to see all photos of the day, the two SLRS and iPhone (because the iPhone 6 s has made a worthy camera), without screw my system to file it when I come home and break my bandwidth limits...

  No, a library of Photos is synchronized completely. all of the photos you import photos can be synchronized to iCloud photo library, or added to my photo stream if you enable these services.      Do not use if you do not want to download all the new photos. Download of your photos by using a USB connection and using iTunes Sync Photo.

  On your Mac, you could separate the photos referenced in the iCloud downloads using a smart album "Photo is referenced", since the referenced pictures will not download to iCloud photo library.
