Battery charge disable Lenovo Z500

Hi all

I recently got the Z500, working under Windows 8.

I have a question about the battery charge. I'm working on the laptop for long periods of time with the power supply connected. Because it is bad for the battery, is it possible to disable the loading or maybe remove the battery?

I looked in the manual and forums but I couldn't find something similar to this model.

If someone knows what I could do?

Thanks in advance.

There is a setting in the management of the lenovo energy that limit the limit of battery charge 60% and there after stopping tilll the battery level drops to 55%. This is the battery protection mode (in some laptop that is optimize for the life of the battery or similar). It just open energy management and access the battery settings by clicking on the icon. Then select the mode and voila!

I think that you have changed this setting in battery Toshiba Manager c++.
    You must disable Mode "Eco-responsible".

  • How to disable Lenovo energy management

I have Vista Home Premium on my Y430. Once I disabled Lenovo Energy Management and used the Vista build-in power management. My impression was that the battery lasted longer when you use the build-in one than Lenovo Energy Management (4 hours from 3 hours in symmetric mode).

I activated there is Lenovo energy management. But now I don't remember how to turn it off. Does anyone know how to disable? Thank you very much.

I found a way to disable management of the energy of Lenovo using Windows Defender. Click 'Start'--> 'All programs', right click on "Windows Defender", select "run as Administrator". Click the 'tools' at the top of the window, and then click "Software Explorer". Click on 'Show for all users' in the lower left corner. In the "Category" list, select "startup programs". Select "Lenovo Battery Management Software VerX.X" on the left panel. At the bottom of the Panel, click the button 'Disable' (or 'Remove'). Lenovo Energy Management this will prevent to run the next time that you start your laptop.

To activate it, just follow the steps above and click 'Activate' to the last step. Or you can go to 'Control panel'--> 'Power Options'--> 'change plan settings'--> "Change power settings advanced"--> "Lenovo Energy Management" to enable it.

  • Lenovo Z500 turns off a few seconds after the round. He started for the second time.

    Hello

For several days my Lenovo Z500 is a strange problem. When I push the turn on button laptop starts up and shuts down after a few seconds when the windows logo appears. When I push again the button it starts fine with no problems.

I have a Windows Professional 10, everything was ok for a while and now I don't know how to solve my problem.

I'm going to enjoy all the ideas.

I thought to reinstall Windows, but maybe you know the solution to fix it.

P.S. I have the latest version of the BIOS installed.

    Kind regards

    Albert

I think I solved the problem.

Problem has been activated "quick start" in the power settings.

To turn off the quick start, follow these instructions:

    1. Open the start screen
    2. type po drank directly on the start screen (power buttons short for). It will take you directly to the applet "change what the buttons to" in the search results.
    3. Click on the link "Change settings that are currently unavailable" to put at the disposal of the shutdown options.
    4. Uncheck the enable (active)-quick start .
    5. That's all. Now the quick start feature is disabled.

Now everything works fine, z500 boots each time correctly with the first run.

    Thanks LenBlazer.

  • T440p windows 10 battery charge mode

    Hi all

I had a recently updated T440p to level to win10pro win7pro. Among other things, the most annoying is the battery charge mode: I put it in "custom load thresholdd", between 55% and 85%. Instead, each time you start the battery starts to load and I have to go to PowerManager8 and change the setting to custom. Then everything is going ok until the next start-up, where I have to do the same thing...

The notification on my antivirus is the second most annoying: I forticlient antivirus (the latest version, updated to work with win10 ok) running without problem, but in each boot win10 informs me that forticlient is disabled and keeps telling me the same every now and then... I've already put the Panel I want info on the antivirus, but win10 seems that does not understand this...

    Any help will be welcomed.

    Thank you, guys!

Hi x220forme and thanks for the welcome!

I found a 'strange' way of trying to solve my problem: I have read in this forum about someone else whom the battery was not charged as it should, and the notice was "try to degrade your power managememnt driver and power manager.

So I thought ' why not? ' and the last 36 hours, I installed Power Management Driver 1.67.03 and Power Manager 6.67 (with windows 10 Pro in a T440p).

Until now, looks like it works well. After many restarts, my battery is at 85% and fails to demand, as he has done with PM8. I'll wait a few more days and let the community know, in case where someone else facing the same problem.

    Thanks again!

  • Lenovo Z500 can't keep time (clock drift)

    Hello

I had real problems with my new Lenovo Z500 on Win8 and the big one at the moment is its inability to keep time. After a reboot, it will keep the time that I stopped him. Then after that it will be adrift. For example, while he was working there, I had a movie on. I checked the time at the end of the film as it must have been was late again according to my laptop that this is only about 30 minutes later.

This becomes a huge pain. All files have the incorrect date and to have a clock which cannot keep time is next useless.

On a very old PC I guess that's the CMOS battery on its way, but I only got the laptop a few days! I would probably cancel my warranty replacement anyway.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Richard

Do check my laptop about 18 hours after I finally stopped him and that time seems correct. That said, I checked my data and the time settings and synced it on start up. Windows may have cancelled my test!

I downloaded and installed three drivers. It's the BIOS and positive battery that I believe was the chipset. My memory is a little fuzzy on the third, but the BIOS is more likely to be solved.

It will stop for a brief moment, just to be sure.

Is it normal that my battery charger extremely hot when it is in use? I'm afraid each leave only it connected so I'm not nearby because I'm afraid he's going to fry or ignite. I just bought this computer 2 months ago.

Normal use a charger / adapter will get very hot, but they should not become extremely hot. I would recommend that you contact the Lenovo Support for further assistance.

  • U310 battery-charging taped to 60%

    Hi you all,.

    U310 - I5 - 4Gb - 32Gb SSD - 500 GB HD - upgrade to W7 premium W8 pro

Today, unexpectedly and six months after the purchase, the power batteries is stuck on 60% after recharging and refuses to climb to higher values.
So I tried to reset the battery meter (status system, "Energy management" bar), but when he finished the refreshing, it shows the same value, 60%.

Is this the time that make the laptop for repair of Lenovo service?
Or does anyone have another suggestion?

    Thanks in advance,
    Jim

    Hello
There is a setting in the management of the lenovo energy that limit the limit of battery charge 60% and there after stopping tilll the battery level drops to 55%. This is the battery protection mode (in some laptop that is optimize for the life of the battery or similar). It just open energy management and access the battery settings by clicking on the icon.

  • X120e Battery Charge problem

    Hello

I bought my x120e about a month ago and it's been great since, but recently I had problems with the battery. When I charge the battery to 100% and then unplug the power adapter, the battery is fine for an hour or two, and load will decrease to a normal and regular rhythm (indicated by the percentage). However, when the battery is at 75-80%, then he jumps abruptly up to 10%, and I get a message that I have to charge the cell phone or turn it off. When I connect and start loading again, the battery charges at a normal speed of about 10 to 40%, but the same thing happens and it jumps up to 100%, saying it is fully charged. Generally, I would be happy with such a fast charge, but in this case the battery is not really full as soon, he dies suddenly after that I have unplug the adapter. Even if I let it continue loading at 100%, the same thing happens.

So, I was wondering if I could do something to fix this on my own, or if I should send it just come back on the one year warranty. Please tell me if I did not know by describing the problem and thanks for any help/suggestions!

I just wanted to post an update. I thought that my explanation of my problem of battery gave a negative perception of the ThinkPad x120e and lenovo in general, but I called the customer service of lenovo today and after 15 minutes, the representative has verified the problem (battery was indeed defective) and sent a new battery in my house. Overall, I am very satisfied, and I think that this problem of battery was only an isolated case. The battery is supposed to come in 2 days!

  • Computer laptop dv5 off suddenly when the battery charge reaches46%

First of all, thank you in advance for any help possible.

Of heres my portable computer Spec

    Intel (r) Core (TM) 2 Duo CPU P8400 2.26 GHz 2.27 GHz

    3.00 GB RAM

    Windows Vista.

    Problem:

Well my laptop around 1 year and something weird started happening a few days back... whenever my laptop unplugged and reached 46% battery charge it suddenly turns OFF... after that whenever I try to start to just the screen where it tells u whether to start windows normally or not... and turns off again... the only way to pitch it up is to plug the adapter sector and then it starts normally. I tried to calibrate the battery using the bios, but this option is not there in my laptop... try manually is not useful because it disables always when it reached 46%... so I can not entirely drain my battery.

someone has an idea of what is my problem?

    pascs wrote:

No its is no longer under warranty may be 1 year and a month I think.

Then replacing the battery is what you need to do. You should be able to get a replacement battery has a reasonable price online. There is no obligation to buy an original HP battery.

  • new S205 - battery charging

I just buy an Ideapad S205.  The main power plugged into the battery icon continues to show 50% available, (plugged in, does not support).  Is this good?

Must charge the battery while the computer is running?

    Any help/advice appreciated

    Thank you

    paynes1

Click on start-> all programs-> Lenovo-> management energy-> power management options.

Start the program.  Look at the summary at the top.  Does say 'Best battery health' beside the blue gear icon?  If so, you will thus limit the load on your S205 50% (but your battery will last longer... overall autonomy, that is).

If you want to change it, choose the speed at the bottom right, and when the menu appears, select "Optimize for the duration of the battery."  This will allow for your battery charges to 100% full (but your battery life will be shorter).
