Battery not charging on Satellite M70

I have a problem with my new M70: the battery does not charge at all, doesn't matter is the laptop that works on the sector, or completely off. Orange battery LED front turn United Nations only 3 seconds and turn off.
The battery remains 2% of fees, and I can't charge?

I also have an older laptop Toshiba satellite, and there arises the same thing a year ago!

Any recommendations?

Thank you
Károly

Hello

I also recommend to check first the battery. I read somewhere that you can load and discharge the battery about 500 times. Then the battery will lose performance and will some time dead.

If it of impossible to charge the battery again, so there must be something wrong with the hardware. In this case, the help of the service is necessary.

    Hello

Don t worry, it should not usually depend on software if the battery is charging or not. But to go the way of course, I propose initially to re - insert the battery.
Battery should practice generally anytime, no matter whether or not windows is loaded. So, if not, then you have a problem with the power.
Try this re - insert and if that doesn't work, contact a technician (if you know someone) or a partner certified.
It may be that you have a serious hardware problem.

  • Unknown battery - not charging on Satellite P300D-11U

    HI -.

    I have a Satellite P300D-11U

I have now bought 3 xtra different batteries. None of them will work - labtop doesn't recogninze any of them.
Only the original supplied with the computer. When activated, it says Remaning time battery unknown / undetermined
If I plug the power supply cord, it is said:
No battery found, no charging current.

Each shop/manufactor said it is a BIOS problem. That the BIOS cannot communicate with the battery.
I installed the latest version of BIOS on 20 August 2008, no change - still the same.

Is there a new current BIOS, or other solutions?

    Sincerely, Bryan

Hmmm I have a U400 and the battery has been recognized after the BIOS update.
Maybe it s not a BIOS issue but simply your battery or motherboard is not allowed.

    The warranty is valid?
If Yes, you shouldn't t waste time and should contact the ASP in your country for a control of the laptop. The guarantee must cover everything!

  • Battery not charging on Satellite Pro L300D

I've had this laptop about four months and had just returned a repair under warranty (replacement of the motherboard). He had light use since I bought it.

On his return, I ran a Windows 7 upgrade as installation clean but noticed that the battery charge more than 60%. I did turn the laptop today to try and run the battery down completely, then I might give it a full charge overnight.

All I get now when plug adapter is two pulses on the battery in the notification area icon and the message * "available (plugged in, load)" *-the icon remains on 'empty' despite being left for several hours.

It sounds like the battery is damaged or must recalibrate and if so, how?

Try to start your laptop with power current only and when the OS starts put the battery inside and watch what happens with the State of the battery.

  • Battery not charging - Thinkpad E531

    Dear Lenovo,

I have been using Windows 7, but I recently changed to Windows 8.1.

In Win7, I was able to install and use the Lenovo power management software, and I changed the threshold of 40 to 50% battery.

After I installed Win8.1, I realized there is not any software for Windows 8.1 E531 power management, so I can't charge my battery above 50%.

It seems that power management software makes somekind of related material change or do not remember my previous settings which I did in Win7.

How can I change the thresholds without reinstalling windows 7 and power management software?

Could you give me a link to a management software can be used for Windows 8.1 E531 Thinkpad power (which is 100% working)?

    Another solution?

    Thank you!

Battery not charging 100%, remains stuck at 84% to 91%.

    Hi all

I got my blackberry z10 not too long ago, and initially, the battery was not serious. A full charge is 100%.

Now, I'm having the problem of not to charge up to 100%. He shows me the icon of "lightning" up to about 84% to 91% where it stops and shows me the '=' sign as in fully charged or not charging.

I tried to restart the device and even turned off while loading see that fixes the problem or not, but nothing helped.

Someone here has the same experience? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

LEAVE it plugged into the wall charger (not USB > PC charger) for half an hour.

With the charger plugged, remove the battey a minute then reinsert it.

This will often reset the battery on the device reading to the actual battery charge.

  • Satellite M70-340 battery not charging

I had a problem with a Toshiba Satellite M70 - 340 portable hard drive, but everything else worked perfectly, and it was possible to operate on battery power. So I sent it to a maintenance shop where they changed the hard drive and installed a fresh new copy of Windows XP. Once I got it I found that I am not able to turn it back on, except when it is connected to electricity and after a little or looking around, I found out that the battery is not.

In addition to this, when I plug first laptop for electricity while it is turned off, the yellow/orange battery LED lights only for like 3 seconds. And even if it is activated, the led is still off, and the the battery icon on the status bar indicates that the laptop works on AC and does not say that the battery charge, he repeats to me 1%.

I also tried leaving it plugged to AC while it is off, hoping he can recharge, but I bite the dust.

So what would cause the battery won't charge if from one day to another (and just by changing the HARD drive and install a fresh copy of windows XP), the battery has stopped working?

And I was just wondering is an update of the BIOS or your driver fix? I want to say a battery need some kind of driver or software to run?

  • Satellite M70-340: battery not charge when AC is branch

    Hello world

Well, my problem is that I just bought a Toshiba Satellite M70-340 and used only for 2 days, but I have problems with my battery.

The battery does not seem to load. When I plug in the charger, the battery indicator turns on but the windows loading indicator is constantly at 0%. When I unplug the charger after awhile the laptop immediately turns off.

I noticed today morning problem, but the incident in question just as I remember it's the charger fell yesterday from a distance of about 50cm in height on a floor tiled. I don't know if this could affect it or not.

The only changes that I made to the software are also updated Microsoft Windows & Office.

Kindly help me knowing the cause of the problem and the solution that he.

    Concerning

    HELLO Faiz,

If your laptop works when the power adapter is plugged it works correctly. The THST is that the battery does not load can indicate a problem with the battery or the electronics in the laptop. However, I would first check very carefully that the battery is correctly installed and that there is no insulating plastic part that prevents the battery contacts to connect properly.
If everything looks well then you laptop is covered by warranty Toshiba and I would say that your outlet or send it to your provider to be extracted.

    Kind regards

Hmm... If this problem has appeared since the first day of the purchase, the home question battery might be related to battery failure.
In this case, you will need to contact the service to fix.

But just one question: it's your BIOS up-to-date?
Check the update in the station of service and if available new version of BIOS; try to update the BIOS to the latest status.

  • Satellite P850 32Z: battery not charging

Recently, I had problems with the battery, which means that I need to plug my AC adapter all the time. The battery in the taskbar icon indicates that the battery is 68% and these last days. Placing the cursor on the icon says "plugged in, not charging", and the battery on the laptop light does not illuminate. If I unplug the AC adapter, the laptop shuts down completely.

I also tried the cold reset following instructions (from the section "Solving a problem" to support)
    1. power off your laptop and unplug the AC adapter
    2. remove the battery from the PC (for models with semi-fixed battery, please follow these instructions)
    3. press the button power for 30 seconds.
    4. then, plug in the adapter without the battery, turn on your computer and start Windows normally
    5. wait 5 min. and then replace the battery on while your laptop is turned on

In step 4, when I turned on the laptop, the laptop starts and the battery light is on. But then after a few seconds, the battery light turns off and the laptop turns off.

    Hi AtlantiB,

And what happens if turn off your laptop and connect the AC/DC adapter? You see that the battery is charging?

  • Satellite Pro L20: battery not charge when the power adapter is connected

    Hello

    all advice appreciated.

I had a Satellite Pro L20 for about 18 months. Recently, battery does not charge when the power adapter is connected. The battery light starts yellow (which means more liberated, I think?), then will both green, the machine sat for awhile. However the ACPI often said that AC is "offline."

There are two recent occurrences that coincide with this problem, I try to eliminate:

    1. my friends rat chewed by the feeder for pets! Power is Mobile OK insofar as he fled sector - the rat seems to have simply chewed by the outer cover (I see some threads, but I think that is just a shield, although I'm not an electrician).

    2. I put the laptop in hibernation for the first time. That seemed to mess up the system a bit, which was what initially drew my attention to the problem. This question is a bit complicated because I'm under Linux (Xubuntu).

I updated the drivers etc from windows when I bought the laptop. Never had any problems until now and have been running linux for centuries. Also, I have mainly the laptop the power supply turned off, but do not remove the battery (is that really a problem these days?)

I obviously need to replace the adapter, but is - it is likely (and how I can check) that the battery was borked until?

    see you soon
    Chris

First, please check if the other are lit.
If the AC led and power led are on the adapter sector is ok and it provides the power to the laptop.

    > The battery light starts yellow (which means more liberated, I think?), then will both green, the machine sat for awhile
If the battery LED is yellow, this means that the battery is not fully charged and if the Green led changes then recharging is caught and the battery has been recharged.

So I really don t see any problems with the charge process.

Maybe the battery is old and so you cannot use it for an extended in such a case only the replacement of the battery could help.
