-Battery Thinkpad 8 meter

Hi guys,.

I bought a Tablet thinkpad 8 and updated updated to windows 10 battery meter do not count correctly for example the battery brands 80%, but the remaining time is 20 minutes.
I did the tests of the lenovo software and the result is battery ok. Looking for the drivers on the lenovo site a bios update for windows 8.1 x 86 version 1.7.0 in my Tablet the bios version is 1.6.2. Can I update this bios with windows 10? Or the problem is another?

Help, please

And thank you

1.62 BIOS is old enough, and Yes, he had problems with the battery capacity in early versions. I had them on mine and an update of the BIOS corrected. Sorry, but I don't remember not so 1.62 which was really.

Yes, you can and should update 1.70 under Win10. Looks like you're sure your is the model of 32-bit (2 GB), then you're good to go. Let us know if it helps.

  • Battery ThinkPad E455 reduced capacity when it is connected to an electrical outlet

Recently, I have a problem with my E455 ThinkPad I bought two months ago (see https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/11e-Windows-E-and-Edge-series/ThinkPad-E455-Excessive-Battery-Drains-Wh... This problem has been resolved by updating the version of the BIOS to the latest one (BIOS 1.15).

However, another problem occurs. When I was using my ThinkPad for games, the battery capacity is reduced when the laptop is connected to an electrical outlet (as described by 7 times lenovo and windows battery gauges). In the power manager, I took my battery to start charging when the battery is less than 80%. During the game (with AC is on), the battery level is reduced to 1% in a few minutes. The power manager, the State of the battery indicates 'No activity' (no discharge or load). In the windows battery meter, battery indicator says "plugged in, but do not load" (which is normal with respect to the threshold of loading).

Why this condition occurs? I mean, the AC is plugged in, but the battery capacity is reduced.

Lenovo laptops (and also those of other manufacturers) are provided with the smallest possible adapters to reduce consumption of energy and cost.

When your laptop is working, as when you play a game, it will take far more power supply can provide. In these circumstances, the battery provides a big boost for the short time that the extra power is needed. Hybrid cars work the same way.

Lenovo power with higher power adapters are readily available, I recently bought a 65W for our E555 which was provided with a 45W power adapter.

If you know that you will regularly use the laptop to play games and you don't want to use your battery to provide power increased, just to get a genuine Lenovo PSU with a higher power...

  • 1 BATTERY ThinkPad Tablet

As the title suggests, I think that I need a replacement battery for my Thinkpad Tablet 1838.

I went for 3 months and came home to a dead tablet. It does not take a charge, used to power over everything.

    Replace the battery an option?

    Thank you in advance!

I suggest that you call Lenovo support and ask if they propose replacing the battery and if so how much they charge.

Be sure to tell them why you think the battery is dead. Although it is unlikely, perhaps they can offer a way to revive.

  • Question about the accuracy of the Total remaining time for battery in Power Meter

    Mr President.

I checked several laptops that are of the same model, one of them cannot display "Total time remaining" in the power meter. Even other laptops may display, but the values are equivocal. Sometimes the 'remaining power' is 80%, but 'Total remaining time' is 1H20Mins. And sometimes, the "remaining power 'is 75% ', but"the Total remaining time"is 1H30Mins.

How Windows calculates the 'Total remaining time? I found what OS will have one or two minutes to display "Total remaining time" after I have the power cable plug-out.

Which is appreciate to get your answer.

    Horky

The remaining computing power comes from the numere questioning power management drivers and is a fairly complex calculation based on current usage (the amount of energy is consumed), the capacity of the battery (what total capacity is left and how fully charged is battery) and can also vary depending on what else is plugged into the USB port of the computer , what accessories (memory, video card, etc.) are installed, how good or bad, the battery is to maintain a charge and so on.  There is no particular reason to believe that maybe outside the right-out-of-the-box everything two laptops will show the same calculation even if they are all the same brand and model.

  • Do not charge the external battery ThinkPad T440

    Hello community,

I use a T440 with WIN8.1 machine pro, but for some reason any external battery stopped charging. This laptop is only 3 months old Lenove send me a brand new, but the result was the same, the charging symbol appears on my screen when restarting the machine and shrotly after completely stops. Now, I had my internal battery pack has changed and once again, no improvement. If any of you had a similar experience and can suggest a remedy?

just had an IBM engineer on the site and that they have was change the motherboard of the laptop. Frankly, nobody seems to know how or why the machine won't start. Since the new motherboard was installed everything seems to be in order and work very well.

  • Battery ThinkPad Tablet has taken a lot of time to fully charge

As the title says, when the battery remains below 20%. It took more than 20 hours to fully recharge the battery which is impossible for me to use every day.

But sometimes, it took only about 4 hours to fully charge which happens rarely.

So, I think that it is a software issue more to a hardware problem.

And it has past since day 1 I buy the machine.

    Can someone recommend me?

Help is very much appreciated and I thank you

Make sure that the Tablet is completely off while charging. Use the cable adapter and USB OEM power. If the slate does not detect the right brick cable/power he can enter a fully compatible USB mode, drawing only 0.5 Watts and this means a slow, very slow, process leader, who, in fact, can last up to 20 hours.

If all else fails, buy a dock. It is not very expensive and, from what I've read, it's worth the money.

So, make sure you have all updates applied. I found no information on OTA you run on your computer, but if you think it may be a software problem, it's the best way to get an answer. Updates are very valuable and will make your slate run faster. 2 OTA has an update of the firmware of the battery, and it can also be useful.

  • Question 1400i-2621-460 battery ThinkPad

    Hello world!

I have the above mentioned tour albums and need to replace the CMOS battery.  Now, I read somewhere that it requires a CR2032.  When I was going to double check, I couldn't find where I got that in the first place!

Anywho, I was hoping someone here could check for me, or give me a link where I can find myself?

I know that I could just open and discover this way, which I do anyway to replace it, but I would like to know rather the right pair buy so I don't have to make two trips to the store!

    Thanks in advance!

    Basically...

FRU = replaceable unit. IBM (and now Lenovo) their parts with two catalog numbers: reference reference FRU (FRU P/N) and (P/N). If a part is not a FRU, it's probably not replaceable except by the company itself...

    I hope this helps.

    Assuming you are using Vista...

An MVP insists on the fact that the user must reboot and make sure that nothing goes before applying the tutorials.

So I'll oblige... Please restart your machine and do not run other programs.

    Use this tutorial:
Missing in the Notification area icons A method will not work for you. You already tried who.

Take the method 3. It applies to all versions of Vista, and it is the easiest method.
Make sure that you restart the computer afterwards to complete the tutorial procedures.

Here's another tutorial. It's from Microsoft Support.

  • Battery meter or Signal Meter on the Application title bar

Not a matter of doing for me, but it would be nice to know if users must not leave my application to see this information.

I've seen several posts on this topic but nothing marked as resolved.  I even did a text search on "Battery" on all my documents and I can't find anything.

I guess the battery and signal meter gauge are monitored on the theme.  How can we add them to our application title bar?

Thank you all for the information AND the CODE.

This should be a great post for future programmers.

Load your full battery then use and unload completely.

Do this process for at least 3 times and check the difference.
