BB Handheld software 4.6

Hello!

I don't know if this is the best place to ask this question, but it is there anywhere I can get the terminal BB 4.6 software? I want to improve my BB 8310 and 8100 to OS 4.6 to take advantage of certain features in JDE 4.6...

Best regards!

Isabelle

He should really look at the site to your operator for OS levels they have approved for use on your phone.  If it is not available, your provider, you may be guaranteed cancellation and break the terms and conditions of use of your phone.

You might find the following link helpful.

http://www.BlackBerryForums.com/rim-software/110673-useful-latest-OS-all-models.html

Regarding your question, I have heard nothing rim which suggests that 4.6 is available for anything other than the "BOLD".  However, I don't know about the Javelin and the storm is 4.7.  From memory, they announced that it would provide 4.5 for all phones released after and including the 8700 (i.e. all the pearls, 8700, 8800 and curves), but they do not control if the carriers release the software.

So in your case, the higher, you can go, as much as I know, is 4.5.  If you can get there "legally and supported" or not is another question.

    I was all but ready to let er rip, when I read the warning - I would need to reactivate my device wireless in order for my email and Associates BB apps to work correctly.

    I'm not a computer ID-10-T user, but I'm pretty new in the world of BB...

    That includes there, and should I just use the option 'Wireless Upgrade' on the BB itself?

    Hello!

    Sorry we missed your post...

    Never, I suggest the OTA update... too many questions can ensue. On the contrary, DL the package update and use DTM for backup and then update your BB. Then you have the backup to restore (and it can do this automatically during the process).

    I have no idea if your operator has any special reactivation sequence (ASBL, it is * 228 Option 1, and then to new w/Option 2). But, if you can make/receive calls and access your voicemail after the update, then you probably are enabled on your great business network. So, here are the following sequence of events:

    (1) registry HRT

    • Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > host Routing Table > BBKey (it matter little what line is current) > sign up now

    (2) Service reference books

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

    I hope that will move things again for you!

    Use the most recent version, that I've highlighted in red. Latest = higher version number.

    I don't know the difference in what has been added or bugs fixed, RIM does not changelog with the upgrades of the OS release.

  • Smartphones blackBerry device software upgrade problem

    Hi all

    I have a Blackberry 8310. He was originally AT & T service, but he now has the T-Mobile. It is unlocked and currently leads the software 4.2.2.170.

    I'm moving to 4.5. I downloaded the software from T-mobile, here for the 8320. They have no 8310 software, and told me that it shouldn't make a difference:

    http://www.t-mobile.com/bbupgrade/

    I followed the instructions here:

    http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/How_do_I_upgrade_the_OS_on_my_BlackBerry%3F

    (I tried method 1 and method 2)

    However, it will not install little matter what I do. I even tried using CrackMem.

    Get to step 6 of method 2 for example, I'm never invited to install the upgrade. When I look into the application loader on BB Desktop under applications to update or install new applications, the software update is never there.

    No idea why the upgrade won't install? Is it because the phone's ex - AT & T?

    One last thing - it was originally hooked up to BES and so had a top COMPUTER policy. I wiped by using method 2 here:

    http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/Remove_IT_Policy

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi and welcome to the forums!

    One that you said that the software and the model doesn't matter, said you bad.

    Well, software loading 8320 in to a 8310 photo an accident of room StarTrek carrier... same results.

    Go to the AT & T software download site and get the right device OS for the 8310.

    When you go to install it, you need to remove the provider. XML file. This step is listed in your procedure

    I have the number of site and the version to download for you at the bottom of the post.

    When you start the download of software peripheral BONES of AT & T, save the file to disk, do not run.

    When the download is complete, then go to the directory on the PC you have loaded to and run the

    self-extracting file. The software will be installed in the directories in the files of the Office Manager

    If the application loader will find it.

    Follow each step exactly as written now from the first step of the procedure of FAQ.

  • Smartphones blackBerry how to reinstall the device att v4.5 software.

    I want to use the Korean fonts, but att did not have so I just download and installed

    but my phone had connection problems (usually, cell phone is not 'edge' and I couldn't use IM +..)

    and I think that the reason is that I use the program bad company (just I think..)

    So I want to reinstall os v4.5 of att.

    I have download and install on the computer and the vendor.xml file deleted, but still the Device Manager software reads not any update

    (the first time I connect my device it shows there are some updates, but after that I'll update the page, he says there is no update).

    How can I change my OS to os from att? (I don't want to go down and reinstall 4.5OS if possible... it takes so - time!)

    is there another solution to solve my problems?

    If you have another OS installed, you must first do it in Add/Remove programs and uninstall the "BlackBerry Handheld Software". Then you can download the software AT & T 4.5. If you are BlackBerry comes from AT & T you do not have to delete the vendor.xml file after installation. Later, you can simply go through the Application Loader to load the AT & T OS on your device.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BES did not work after upgrade from my BB Bold OS software

    Hello

    After that I updated OS on my device AT & T BB Bold for BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.6.0.438 (EastAsia) including the fonts from the far East, everything including BIS email works well but my BES sync not working anymore. Then I tried to reactivate BES by using the same password of my IT Department attributed to my camera before. But I got an error message: "the server is not responding, please contact your system administrator."

    What are the potential problems?

    What should I do to get the job of BES?

    Someone there had the same question and what was the solution?

    Some messages in said BBforum reactivation is still needed after the upgrade of the OS and a new password must be reallocated by the it Department. Is this good?

    Thank you.

    HQ

    Hello

    The password to activate a HH on BES will work once in total!

    So, if you previously enabled, you can not use the same password again once!

    You will need to contact your BES administrator and get them to reset your password to activate BES Acct.

    They can put the same password you have used before, but it's still a single-use password.

    Once your handet has activated this password cannot be reused.

    I hope that explains it!

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to restore the default version device software?

    Hi, I just update my software for device to BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.6.0.477 (EastAsia) BBB that OPTUS. But its totally different with the default version. I can't use Internet via Blackberry web browser using hotspot. It think there should be a lot of wifi and the application of 'download' and 'Instant Messaging' folder are lost! with the default version, when the first time I turn on the handset, there's MSN Messenger, Facebook, Myspace... etc in the folder "Download". Also I can't put more, my "Enterprise activation" required e-mail account, but I just that at the first time I've set up the handset, can I set up mail account everything I love. I'm not a business user. Anyone know how to restore the default device software version? If I can't restore back, anyone knows what version of the device software is better?  or how to fix this?

    BTW: I got my BBB a year ago. This is the first time I try to update the device software.

    Thank you very much!!

    BIS = BlackBerry Internet Service. Here is the OPTUS BIS site

    https://bis.AP.BlackBerry.com/HTML?brand=Optus

    See if you are able to connect to it and try what I suggested. What version of the software do you have on the camera before? You could try downgrading to this version. Different carriers have different versions of the OS, so I can't say what that yours was before the update.

  • I have a piece of test equipment that is not compatible with Windows Vista 64 - bit edition. Is it possible to go back to the 32-bit version without having to re - install?

    The test equipment is a Site Master S820D used for the test of microwave signals.  It is not compatible with Windows Vista 64-bit, but is with Windows Vista 32 - bit.  Want to know if there is a way to get back to Windows Vista 32-bit, without having to buy a new operating system.  The program is called "Site Master Handheld Software Tools".

    Hello

    If you want to move from a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64 bit version of Windows Vista, or vice versa, you will need to back up your files, then select custom during installation of Windows Vista. Next, you need to restore your files and reinstall your programs

    }

    This is just one example of code, but it throws the same exception is my real application.  Suite is a Contact object that I've initialized from the context object in the address book.  Whenever I get to the line getString, it throws an IllegalArgumentException for anything other than the constant of PIMItem.TEL despite the fact that other objects are not null.  I develop for the Blackberry 7290 with Handheld Software version 4.1 and JDE version 4.1.  Is there a reason that I'm getting this exception?

    EDIT: Sorry, Contact.TEL not PIMItem

    You don't want to read a string if it * is * a string.  Try something like:

    int[] intarray = cont.getFields();
    for(int x = 0; x < intarray.length; x++)
    {
        if (myPimList.getFieldDataType(intarray[x]) == PIMItem.STRING) {
            System.out.println(cont.getString(intarray[x],0));
        }
    }

  • File/external source for the application config?

    Hello, I need advice.  My application on the device is simple: he composes the function codes to be managed by a server.  Currently, all function codes are hard coded in the application. I would like a way to ensure that these codes can be updated on the fly without having to recompile, re-sign and redistribute the entire application.  What would be the best way to achieve this and what I should look into?

    Edit: Develop for Blackberry Handheld Software 4.1 4.1 JDE for 7000 series.

    This method might have restrictions and is likely to have security in time to invite the first makes an http connection.  A BES admin could restrict the ability to download or add firewall constraints which would limit to this.

    Alternatively, if you want to avoid http and already have a mailing list you could send the configuration go out and have a message sink that updates your config file.  This would require that your application be signed and she also could be limited by a BES or permissions admin and could have a security prompt if a device is configured to request message connections.

    Basically, if you want to get third party data, a BES administrator could restrict.  It is not really a way around that if you want your application to have up-to-date data.

    How can I achieve this by coding? Thanks in advance!

    This feature was added in version 4.6 of the BlackBerry API set (requires BlackBerry JDE 4.6 + and BlackBerry handheld software versiomn 4.6 +).  The ApplicationIndicator class allows you to do.  You can get an overview of this feature in the beta version of the 4.6 BlackBerry JDE version found here: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/developers/devbeta.jsp#tab_tab_jde

    If there is a way to get the phone number of the user currently entered the dial phone app BEFORE?

    I know I can get the phone number of the phone call from the newspapers.

    Thank you
    Nikolai

    You can add an ApplicationMenuItem to the phone application which can happen in its run method.  Please note that there is a problem in the 4.3.0 release where this does not (null is passed instead).

    The problem of null is passed by an ApplicationMenuItem in the phone app is solved in BlackBerry handheld software version 4.5.0.  This issue was present in version 4.3.0.

    You see this in newer versions?
