• BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry 8350i Nextel: question Word & Sheet To Go (Standard Version). The whole Plan.

  New Member here (I got a new BlackBerry work a month ago) and this is my 1st Smartphone. The company that I work pays the entire Plan, but as we discovered everything really does mean everything! Professional email (Outlook) costs extra and Word To Go, Sheet To Go works best if you pay extra for the Premium Plan except that none of us can remove sheets, routing of telephone calls to my cost today of OnStar 20 cents a minute (used to be free and was a great security function-handsfree) and about 5 or 6 BlackBerry technicians and I can't seem to be able to even get the option of forwarding calls at work... and this is my second Blackberry in 4 weeks.

  I like the idea that I can now wear Excel spreadsheets with me which some with formulas. Problem is that every time a new version of one of the spreadsheets will be sent by e-mail to me so I try and delete the old, then download a new. I can't remove sheets of Excel spreadsheets or Word Documents.

  Someone told me that I can't remove spreadsheets or once their downloaded word documents. And he is paying extra for the Premium edition!

  Is this really true? Sounds crazy me finally fill the memory card then it's useless. The only cure for this that I have found is when I get an email with a Word Document attached or an attached Excel spreadsheet isn't absolutely download it, but save it in saved messages, which means that I won't be able to make a montage in the leaves.

  I love receiving e-mail, SMS, etc that I am usually on the road (all work related) but with what I stated above, I really wonder if it's really worth what we pay for the Plan and the purchase of BlackBerry.

  Can someone help me and prove me wrong? I would really appreciate it.

• Smartphones blackBerry how to globally remove PDF files on the 9900

  My 9900 file list "" documents "to go has 100s of files PDF named"sla.pdf"and"warrenty.pdf. "    I can remove them with a global deletion of some sort?   Why BB put them there?  They have just a bloody nuisance.  Someone has it on their 9900 besides me?

  In my humble OPINION, the best way to manage the massive file management activity is not via the interface of the device. Rather, mass storage Mode can treat your BB as a USB on your computer and use your computer interface to manage your files:

  I have a VZW 8330, App Version 4.3.0.127 curve (202). I'm trying to upgrade my software to the latest version, 4.5, but I can't make it work. I tried the version web-based, so the version of Desktop Manager. For simplicity, I'll explain what happens when I use Desktop Manager.

  I just downloaded Desktop Manager and installed. I opened the app, and it detects my BB. Now, I went to the update of the asbl ( http://vzw.smithmicro.com/blackberry/download.aspx?ct=personal ) page and download the 'BlackBerry Device Software v4.5' I ran as well as installation.

  Now, when I start with the Office Manager, a modal window appears saying "updated versions of applications listed below are available for your device." Below is

  OK, in the modal window are two buttons: "Update Now" and "Cancel". I click on update now.  It brings me to the application Loader with another modal window titled "Work in progress" with the text "Search available device software" above the progress bar. Then, I get a prompt "Before starting, check that your current BlackBerry device is connected to your computer." I click OK, and then the Application Loader is greyer. None of the named previuosly updates are listed under summary of the update. There is only an option, button main Menu button and a "back" button.

  How the hell update my phone. Verizon's Internet site does not explain anything, Blackberrys site explains nothing and this shit Desktop Manager is broken. Web update does the same, leaving blank the summary of the update. There is no OTA update and no support for my primary MacBook. I'm very frustrated and do not understand why this should be so complicated. Someone help me please update my 8330!

  Also, everytime I open the app loader, click Add / Remove Applications Start, which, in my view, should be a list of all my applications on my phone is empty. In the white space, it is not all the apps listed. I know that my machine is connected, it indicates the number of pins in the lower left corner correctly. My phone also says, depending on whether it is connected to the desktop and then shows another white screen with a phone and a computer.

  1. remove your card if you have one and start upward

  2. connect to PC

  3. open DTM

  4. click on backup and restore and backup

  5. close the DTM

  6. open MY COMPUTER, go to c:\program files Research in motion\apploader

  7. run loader.exe and progress through the wizard

  8. If the restore fails after the appload, you can restore the backup from step 4

  I am new to the forum and new BB products. I think to buy a BlackBerry Curve 8350i with nextel direct connect. If all goes well, this phone can do what I need it to do, I can have one phone! I'm very excited about it. I'm trying to find a concrete answer or not this phone can sync my outlook calendar (wired or wireless). Think you for this phone? I currently have a Treo 700wx with Windows Mobile 6. Is that going to be a hard conversion for me? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks a ton guys!

  Yes, it syncs contacts and calendar, if you do it with USB cable you need Desktop Manager, if you want wireless (Over The Air), you can use a work around like Google Sync, it syncs your contacts and calendar with your Google account.

I seem to have transferred all my Palm data (addresses, calendar, etc.) for the Blackberry.  My question is - software Palm allows users to sync and all the info from PDA via the Office of access and customize the synchronization operations.  BlackBerry/Verizon or another outside the appolication there similar software to allow me to enter addresses, calendar etc via a desktop program?   WIndxp home run.

  Also, I noticed in the transfer of birthdays is not transferred via.  Don't believe all the fields are parallel and some will have to be re-entered manually.

  I read a bunch of discussions on how to separate emails MMS messages. My 8350i came like that, but I want my MMS messages to receive in my main folder. Switching back is such a pain.

  Someone knows how to do this?

  Also, I liked the BB Messenger (IM) icon, I got on my 7520. Anyone know how to create an icon for that on my main screen?

  In order to get the BB Messenger icon on your home screen (I guess from the main screen you mean the 6 icons at the bottom of the screen saver and not the home screen menu), follow these steps:

  (This is assuming you have the default menu locations).

  -From the standby screen, press the [MENU] key

  -Highlight the 'Instant Messaging' icon and click the trackball

  -Highlight 'Blackberry Messenger' and press the [MENU] key

  -Highlight 'Move To Folder', then click the trackball

  -Click the 'Home' folder (should be the first)

  -Press the [ESC] key

  -Put the "BlackBerry Messenger" icon (should be the last icon) and press [MENU]

  -Select 'Move' and use the trackball to move to one of the 6 icons in the row of icons on the home screen, then click the trackball

  -Press [ESC]

  Your BB Messenger icon should now appear as one of the 6 icons at the bottom of your screensaver, specific slot depending on where you put it in the top 6 at the home menu screen.

  It allows you to turn your BlackBerry smartphone a simple memory card reader.
  When it is plugged into your computer, if you say YES, if there is a memory card of your device (= multimedia card), you can see in Windows Explorer.

  My 8830 was not able to sync with my office work or my laptop [Fujitsu T4220, under Win XP SP3].  I tried to connect to the laptop via Bluetooth (which I paired with my 8830) using 'Connections' on the BB Desktop Manager most recently updated.  Bluetooth will not mention.  I called Verizon (my cell phone carrier).  Three hours later, the support person 'tech', I said, was the BlackBerry expert, actually knew little of things and managed to remove BLuetooth driver for my lap top all together, saying the Fujitsu Bluetooth driver is bad, and now I have no connection with Desktop Manager and no. available Bluetooth on my laptop.  His last attempt was to call technical support of Fujitsu, while I stayed on the phone, as soon as the person of Fujitsu tech, said Bluetooth driver should not have been removed, my phone has been cut; a minute later, I got the message from local telephone service that my line was awarded.  Help, please.  (1) how can I reinstall the Bluetooth on my laptop?  (2) how Desktop Manager to 'see' my BB 8830?

• Smartphones BlackBerry 8350i texting issue (telus) Please help!

  I'm really tired of hearing about a fix in the works for the question to send SMS to the 8350i on the telus network.  I can not yet send a text or determine the sender of a text.  its been a couple of months with this another great phone, but I'm close to throwing it away.  someone at - he heard or know a specific date when this issue of texting can be resolved?  I can't yet believe that telus and or rim can not solve this problem, they understand that there are entrepreneurs who use the microphone and need a smartphone?  Maybe if they actually did one that worked, well, they would be surprised at the overwhelming sales of such a device.

  Hmmm... Well, this is the exact reason, I went to bell and came down to the MICROPHONE... TELUS is not up to date MIKE phones and are not planning on this subject.  I'm not sure why they think that mike users aren't looking for smart phones that can text?

  in any case, the solution is to leave the MIKE network.
