Benefits of SPONTANEOUS power

Have a Satellite SA20-S103 for about 2 years now. Works very well, but since a few days it goes down instantly as no power is left in the computer. Computer is especially connected to the main power supply and no battery.

Any thoughts what this could be and how to solve this problem.

Hi Lanucia,

Perhaps that the CPU is overheating, so the laptop turns off to prevent damage. Check you cooling system if there is no dust behind the grille. And take a look at the temperature of the machine when it stops.

Good bye

The XP boxes display a message to save the Dump in the eventvwr, all with exactly the same message;

Personally, I do not believe that anyone should have to work on a new computer. HP would be on their way to take all of this if it was me. I better not make me started this topic.

    @PatrickHenry196, welcome to the forum.

The video card is made for PCI Express 3.0 x 16.  The video slot on the motherboard is PCIe 2.0 x 16.  While the 3.0 is backward compatible with the 2.0, I am not sure that you will get all the benefits of the power of maps.  I suggest you contact the Technical Support of the manufacturer for this information.  I can recommend it, but I don't want you to spend money to be returned if it does not work.  In addition, you will need to determine if the card will fit in the space provided.  You can do as the back i/o ports to the front of the case.

  • multi channels data acquisition, a single frequency, counter a pulse, two voltage inputs, a power meter (by USB) and an analog output spontaneous and recording

    Hello

I have a power meter which provide the USB driver and a Labview program to get the data and NI USB-6221. The project I am currently working on the needs of:

1 acquire two signals (inputs of simple tension), pressure frequency KHz

    2. acquire a flow signal, the output signal is 0 to 5V pulse, each pulse means 0.4 ml volume. So I use a voltage inflows to count impulses in certain period of time (in this case, 1 S) for water flow. ; KHz sampling frequency and the 1 Hz update rate

    3. acquire a signal of engine speed. The output signal is pulse square wave whose frequency is related to the speed. I use a REIT port to measure the frequency. Sampling rate: Auto

4 give output voltage sine or square wave, I use AO do that.output rate: Auto

5 acquiring by VISA electricity meter data.  Data update rate: every 50ms

Currently, all the 5 tasks work well separately. But when I put them together, some signals are beginning to hang, for example, pressure signals sometimes give nothing.

Another problem is the data record. I programmed the VI in such a way that whenever I press the button 'save start', he begins to record data and save them in a .cvs file. For some reason, I always get only the data in the first table. Coult someone help me? I download my code as follows

    Hello

What I meant by open, write, close.  For any type of file you are using.

Open the file, which produces a reference, then put the mention in a registry to offset.

Write data, using the function write (for this type of file) and the reference.

When you are finished, close the file reference.

Writing in the spreadsheet opens, written, close all at once.  It is very good for this type of application.

    ***

The issue of the loop is more general.  I would like to say first of all, I want to say that since each loop works on its own, it is own VI, and that this program has put all this into a single VI, which has a method to solve the problem is to disable all the loops and allow them one at a time to see if there is a culprit responsible for.

Using multiple loops executes the code at the same time, and some loops would be cycle faster than others, especially if some of them are loops just as they are.

Communication between the loops is a test to the address if necessary.

Running all these signals through different loops DAQ must also be examined.  Don't know what questions are for read and write somewhat randomly in the channels.

    Hello

I n t have experience with this but plase check Microsoft document http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2028504

My personal opinion is that you should back up all important data and reinstall the OS. It is certainly more radical method but also the most effective to solve these problems. After doing this you will own preinstalled OS and everything will be OK again.

  • TECRA 8100 stops spontaneously

I have a 8100 Tecra with Windows XP SP2. The laptop stops spontaneously. Without warning, the screen goes black and flashes green battery LED. The battery is in poor condition (max. power for 5 minutes, then it beeps low battery). Therefore, I have the laptop still plugged into the mains.

Does anyone have a suggestion how I can solve this problem?

    Greetings, Ben

    Hi Ben

For the solution, you need to know why this happen. After reading the description of your problem, it is not easy to say why this is happening and we can only speculate what may be the problem.

The question of a beginning: is this laptop cleaned in the past? I guess this may be full of dust and cooling system and cooling rack may be blocked by dust.
Without appropriate computer hardware laptop cooling temperature critical and the result is suddenly turned off.

  • Satellite M645 - stops down, spontaneously and without provocation

    I bought a Toshiba Satellite M645 running Windows 7

When I received it I pressed the power button and light, fan would go, the screen would remain offshore, for about 5 seconds, then the light would be off, a click sound and the fan turns off.

I sent it to the filing of Toshiba and they fixed.

I came back and it stand up all together cool.

Then it starts turning off in the middle of using it. Totally spontaneous and not associated with a particular program I use. First, the screen goes black and then one of the few things that happens.

    1. the power light lights up and if I move the mouse quite the screen could return and I will be recorded through the window.

    2. the power indicator turns off and the fan turns off but the computer attempts to turn around. This rarely succeeds and can hear a click after each attempt. I am not anything touching.

    3. the power led turns off and the computer shuts down completely. When can I get back my icons are always rearranged.

When it closes completely I am greeted by screen "windows off not correctly" or "there was a problem launching windows" repair screen options if I can get a reboot to work. Often after the problem occurs, and I turn the computer back on it will take several times before it seems to 'catch' and load Windows but often I'll push the button, the system begins to start but it won't load that front Windows of the screen and the light turns his back on the wide.

I've only used this computer on a desk without blockages, so I don't think overheating is likely.

I sent Toshiba new deposit as this issue did not go far with everything I tried, including antivirus ESET scan. I have only possession for 3 months at this point. I sent and 2 weeks later I come back it with a note "could not reproduce the problem."

So my last resort and the only thing that has not been tried even from Toshiba is to completely reload windows and factory but I don't know much about computers then before as I do I want to ask.

Don't you think he has a chance to solve the problem? Ideas to solve this would be great. I'm desperate and do not feel comfortable sending again to "fix".

    Hello

I recommend to retrieve the laptop using the Toshiba recovery disc.
To do this, and check if it happens again.
Theoretically, this could be only a software problem and could be solved by the new installation of the OS.
But in the worst case, it could be hardware related. which means that you need to get in touch with the ASP guy again you know :(

  • Satellite P100-347 - AC power does not

I thought I'd let everyone know a solution to a problem.

I used the laptop for long hours and I found it out the next immediately at startup.
The power supply was not working and prevented from leaving.

What I did for the solution...

    1. no AC power on, remove the battery.
    2. wait 30 minutes
    3. connect the power cable. (AC power indicator should now light)
    4. start the PC. (it starts!)
    5. turn off the PC.
    6. reconnect the battery.
7 reconnect the power cable. (AC power indicator should now light)
    8. wait battery light to show his load again. (light blue instead of orange)
    8. start the PC. (it should work now!)

I really hope that someone benefits from this because I felt with the laptop went I had lost a member.
I am now happy. I still have that gives more time. But I'm a happy Bunny at OM.

Price for the repair looked nasty and we talk on the motherboards web gone. Yuukie.

Looks full of supply circuits switches do not properly with battery and AC. As he would not spend
Using the battery to use AC the AC was plugged after starting on batteries.

Yes, that sounds like a motherboard problem. I would like to send the laptop to an ASP for a quote. It could be something as simple as a bad connection.

  • Portege R500 spontaneously disconnects without user input

My Toshiba Portege R500 has a strange problem where it switches off spontaneously without any intervention from the user. This has happened for about 2 weeks in the property and occurs one or two times a day.

There is no consistency when no why it happens. The machine can be slowed down, or I can run a variety of software. There is no consistency in the software that I have running when this happens. Suddenly, the machine will display dialog box of "logging off" of Windows XP, then start disconnecting. It happens to 'Save settings' scene and then crashes. I then have to force power off and restart the machine. This occurs regardless whether the machine is running off the battery or sector power.

Appears not to heat related, as I expect heat related problems to simply turn the machine off, not actually go through the procedure of disconnecting. There is nothing in Event Viewer, and it seems not related to a particular software. I tried to recreate my local profile and the problem persists.

My technical department said that Toshiba support will not resemble this problem unless we try a complete regeneration of the machine first. I think it's a little extreme and would they looked like rather to solve the problem instead of just wipe everything and re - install Windows XP.

If anyone has experienced this? Any ideas of what could be the cause?

    Thank you
    Derek

    Hello Derek

Windows XP Home edition is your own installation or you got the Windows XP Home edition recovery media?

To be honest for this kind of problems is really not easy to find an answer and find no logical explanation can take hours of the investigation. If your case is an isolated case, I don't see any sense to spend so much time and because of that, I can understand the support guys.

The fact is that Toshiba has to ensure that this recovery image works well. And because of this, they say: do the new installation of Windows XP Home edition and see if the problem persists. At this time where you make the changes on the preinstalled operating system and install a software not supported there is a new situation and it is not easy to simply provide a response to each strange question.

I'm really interested if someone else will report on the same problem.

    Good bye

  • Why does my Net connection disappear spontaneously?

Recently, I had a problem where very well work my connection to the Internet, then all of a sudden he disappeared. The browser (any browser) gives me messages about being unable to find the server. Remedies, I tried:

    1. by using the option "Repair" of the system tray icon that accesses my Internet connection. Repair always freezes during the disconnection. Furthermore, the option 'Status' says my connection is excellent, but it's probably just between my wireless adapter and the AT & T wi - fi antenna.
    2. unplug the AT & T wi - fi antenna power, wait 30 seconds and in him plugging back in. This is one of the AT & T recommended methods of troubleshooting. Does not work for me.

Here's what works, and the reason I think that the problem is in my PC and not with AT & T DSL service. If I use the power button before on my tower to completely power off, wait a few seconds, then starts upward, the problem is solved. What hassle.  Oh, the reason why I do not use start > Shutdown is that it has also stopped working. He goes as far as a blue screen and just hangs there.

For reference, I try to keep my tidy HD. Enough free space, regular defrag, all Microsoft updates, run the tool to check disk with the fix option activated, etc..

Here are the 12 entries of observer of events leading up to the last spontaneous disconnect from the Internet. I doubt it is useful, because the disconnection occurred at about 09:30, much later than the last recorded event.

  • Lose of power supply for HP Photosmart 4640

The power cable to the back of my printer HP Photosmart 4640 is loose and wiggles.  The display on the front will blink on and out.  My computer says the device disconnects more often than otherwise and I can't print or frequently scan.  There is now a chronic problem. Do I need to obtain a new power cable and where can I get one? How will I know that it is the connection of the power cable and not the Jack on the back of the printer? Or is it time to invest in a new printer?

    Thank you

I'll just be completely honest @_Brady_ . I think you hit the nail on the head! Upgrade to a newer model would probably be more worth it.

Determine if the problem you are experiencing is the cable or the plug may be a bet. You could buy a cable and find you wasted your money, or you could buy the cable and voila! problem solved. BUT, when I look at the printer you have, even if it was great in his time, and that the question of food, it is probably still a good printer, I think you might find yourself a printer of efficiency cost more.

The newer printers have a better system of ink (my opinion), and they have more ability. They have the ability to print from the mobile device and so on.

Anyway, I'm certainly not trying to sell you something (I help with technical support, not sale), but I just wanted to be honest. You can go to the user part of HP priced at the cost of a power cable, and you can call HP and see if they can offer you a discount on a newer model. Then, evaluate the benefits of each, and make your own decision!

  • After the death of firewall router in an outtage power yesterday I replaced my router have restored internet access, but none of my corporate office offices can access our network printer/scanner.

yerterday morning, that we had a power outage at my place of business. When power has been restored we can't access internet from any one of our desktop computers. After working with a material MFG co troubleshotter. our firewall router NETGEAR, it has been determined that the equipment was defective. They offered to replace the camera for only the shipping charges, I felt an acceptable solution. Then I was told that with bureaucracy, it would take two weeks to get the new unit. Well, my choice was then to set for two weeks and slowly go out of business or buying a new router. I have relpaced the unit with another mod. Netgear router and this quickly got back up again, at least if we could access our system of internal accounting and the internet. My problem is as it is now that I can't access our office network printer.scanner (kyoceraMita) of any one of my desktops. At this point, I'd appreciate any help. I own my business, but am not a computer guy of any measurment known to man. I have this idea, maybe it's a simple software for all fit everyone access to what they need, but I don't know what it is maybe. If sufficient information, in my view, that I could probably fix the problem myself without providing any benefits of outdoor programming.

The problem now is that the router has changed, the addresses IP, subnet mask, default gateway address, network security wireless network wireless security password and other settings no longer correspond to the original router.  As you said that the SCP can all see each other, you need to see Kyocera and network user's guide 'unit' in order to find the IP address, subnet mask and other network setting the configuration parameters 'method '.
