  We have a fully hosted system provided by a third party.

  This includes the Terminal servers, ad, file servers and application servers.

  It also includes a messaging service described as Hosted Exchange.

  However we recently asked a Primary SMTP address of email accounts can be changed, the user is married.

  We were told that this is not possible and the solution was to export mail, delete mail account, create a new e-mail account with the new primary SMTP address and then import the mail.

  We relied on the most difficult issue and said that the no ECP or PowerShell interface has mail service available to us or hosting company themselves.

  Question: Are they really provides us a with Hosted Exchange?

  Local and remote syslog feature can be configured for a cluster of similar hosts using the host profiles.

  For more information, see guide installation and Set Up Syslog of the section of the Interface of host profiles in vSphere Installation.

  Connect the Server vCenter by using the vSphere Client.

  Click home.

  Under the administration section, click host profiles.

  Create a new profile or modify an existing profile.

  In the Edit Profile dialog box, set one or more of the five configuration options.

  If you configured using esxcli or advanced syslog configuration options and this has captured a host of reference, 5 configuration options are already visible in the Advanced Configuration option section.

  If syslog has not been previously configured, right-click the section of Advanced Configuration options and add a profile for each of the five configuration options.

  Save the profile and assign it to the hosts.

  I am new to SFBC and fight to get configured to work with virtual hosts on my local development server.

  Here is the configuration;

  • Windows XP
  • Apache 2.2 (using virtual hosts)
  • CF 11
  • RDS enabled
  • CF Builder 3

  I can get the BFC works with RDS, debugging, etc. When I turn off the virtual hosts. However, whenever I try to use it with virtual hosts can't RDS and debugging to work.

  Any webcam should work, but a higher resolution can improve the accuracy of tracking. Adequate/same lighting on your face is too important.

  We use Lab Manager 4.0.4 and just upgraded the hosts in our laboratory.  Before updating to ESXi 4.1 ESX 4.0 u1, we cancelled all VMs in all configurations.  There is none who were suspended, they were all turned off.  We have improved vcenter 4.0 to 4.1 as well.  We moved from a dell poweredge 1950 with two quad core intel L5410 to a r610 with two quad core intel processor E5506.

  When I try to turn on some of the lab configurations (our VM models all work fine), I get this error:

  • Cannot use 'lab1' host because the host CPU is not compatible with the judgment of the virtual machine suspend state.

  I threw the State for the lab configuration (even if it was turned off and cancelled) and still get this message.  I guess the processor architecture of these chips is quite similar, and both are Intel.

  Hey billk.

  Although not supported completely, you can solve it by going to the SQL of Lab Manager database.  Make sure that you back up your database before you do anything like that.

  Open the table "fsdir" and corresponds to the dir_id with the id Lab Manager VM.  Once you find the relevant line, change suspend_proctype_id to null (Zero-Ctrl).  You can do this while Lab Manager is still running.

  The results can be unstable (i.e. Windows can crash if it was a drastic change of CPU), but at least you look at a hard reset.  The bat reset certainly not being able to return to the previous state.

  Also note that while Lab Manager does not include CVS, if you activated, your virtual machines still work in CVS mode.  If you have a mixture of heterogenious of hosts in a cluster for Lab Manager, you can see this question pop up a lot.  There is absolutely nothing wrong with take back the virtual machine because of the VCA, but Lab Manager thinks otherwise and prevents it.

• Use the host update utility or install ESXi4 Installable Update 2?

  I have 3 ESXi 4.0 host and you want to upgrade to 4.0 Update 2 and never really used the host update utility, but I doubt if Host Update Utility allows some dirt or something.

  Host update utility is the safest way to do it - and you will save the local VMFS more your configuration.

  If you go directly to the host with the installation CD, your configuration will not be saved, just the VMFS (that with ESXi). In addition, is a way of failure to take in charge of the upgrade.

  Dirty? With ESXi, I really doubt...

• Problems making VM to host exchanges - need help please!

  Hi all.  I'm having a problem with I script I have and could greatly grateful for the help.

  Little bit of background, I have written a script our team uses to generate shells VM.  The script prompts for a name, the type of operating system, cpu, memory, disk.  Then, it connects to vCenter and based on the credentials, this what data center to build.  Once selected, it then queries the datacenter for all available clusters.  The user selects the cluster and the script queries the hosts connected in the cluster, and then randomly selects one.  From there, he questions all exchanges of VM and presents a choice for the user to select.  Finally given what precedes, then goes and built the hull VM and it powers on.

  You can create a sequence of identity store so that if the end point is not present in the ldap database, then it can check its database of the local host.

  Or you can create a condition in your selection of service such as if rule called-station-id ends with (AIDS) then you can have it match the rule that uses the appropriate rule pointing to ldap, another rule when called-station-id ends with (ssidB) match the rule that points to the rule that uses the database of the local host.

  Here is the section on the configuration of the sequence of identity store, don't forget to select continue if user not found.
