Best way to share/update buttons on the front panel

Hi y ' All!

I am a beginner in LabVIEW (2 years experience: 1.5 academic year and a team of the FRC and professionnellement.5 of mentoring as a new graduate in a startup).

We develop an application using LabVIEW which is intended to be user-friendly touch screen and we have so many front-facing button with which we are dealing. In order to make the code more readable in force and easily scalabe, I will like to know if there is an effective way to process orders from the front.

To illustrate, let's say I have this UI:

The real way we propagte these controls is to create a cluster of the reference of all controls (it's where I wish we had LabVIEW 2012-_-) once unbundle that we need in the appropriate section of the code (means it's a large number of sons everywhere...)

So are there better ways to achieve the same goal?

Thank you!

I'm talking about a Controller of GUI in this thread. This can give you an idea.

  • Is there a way to put a button on the front panel only when clicked gives a pop-up dialog box with more information on it?

    Hello world

The simulations that I create are very simple themselves but are intended to use in the classroom to help students learn more about the proven theory.  I hope to be able to place a 'help' or 'other info' button on the front panel that rises wants more info on theory, they can click on it and a pop up appears with background information on it.  It should also have a second button to close it and return to the main façade.  Can anyone lead me in the right direction?

    Thank you!

Use a structure of the event on the main vi when the button is clicked, launches a "help" void / vi. On the inside of the Sub vi (with the set properties to load the front when it is called, of course), use another structure of the event to wait until then click on the button of the Subvi, you can return to the main VI. Do you need assistance on using the structures of the event?

  • Best way to reset all controls on the front panel except one?

    Hello world

I have an interesting problem, whereby I need to run successive tests using a test station which has several indicators on the front panel. At the end of each test, I need to reset all to default values, with the exception of a control (Test ID) who needs to keep his information - its value is used in an initialization status for test to ask for information from a database, so it can not be reset with the rest controls.

I post all orders at a time using a reference ThisVI and VI Default Vals.Reinit All method, but this will obviously reset my control values (Test ID) as well. Any suggestions on how to keep properly or may store this information control while resetting all others. I can reset individually others but there is a little and more can be added as this system is developed.

I don't really know what is the right way to proceed, and Labview has maybe one trick in his bag that I know to work around this problem.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions,

    Alex

Flank the node invoke with two nodes in the value property of the control to maintain the value. To the left we read as well as a right and the wires together. Connect three nodes with a thread of error to establish the order of execution.

First reading place value on the wire, which is then written after the values have been reset to the default value.

  • Scan of the computer does not work in silent mode of the button on the front panel.

The machine is the Photosmart all-in-1 6280 on a network of small size and using the HP Solution Center. Basically everthing works fine, but when I use the button on the front panel to scan a document, it seems necessary to walk to the computer to answer a question about whether I want to scan another document until I could walk to the printer/scanner and press the button to scan the following document. Surely, there must be a way to do the scan run in quiet mode so that I don't have to keep clicking OK on the computer every time? I have already disabled the overview of digitization and the prompt for advanced options.

Oops, forget all that; now I found the setting 'interrogate analyses' which stood on another branch of the installation menus. That solved my problem

  • How to add a record button on the front panel to save waveform data

Hi, I'm new kind of LabVIEW and I worked on a code for an agilent oscilloscope communicate via GPIB and so far it works well on the collection of these two analog channels one by one, "Not UNLIMITED" but it does the trick (vpp, Vrms, frequency, etc.).  I've added the feature to add data to a .csv file waveform (problem: opens a dialog box until the user gathers all the data.) Solution: I want the user to save the. File CSV whenever he wants to use later on the front panel). I've added another feature to get a snapshot of the curve waveform (problem: opens a dialog box.) Solution: I want the user to save the JPEG file, whenever he wants to take a snapshot ("take snapshot" button on the front panel)).  I work with the agilent hp54645d driver. I have attached my code, if someone can tell me please how do I do this (maybe cabling and structures are solutions do not know). Thank you in advance.

I would recommend adding a case structure just around the two record VI and a button to check the condition of the structure of each case. If you want a button to control both save functions you can put the two record functions in the same structure of business controlled by a single button. You are right in saying that the loop will cause your code runs until the stop button is pressed or until the stop condition is met. If you are wanting the while loop to stop once the recorded information you can use the button that you use to control structures case to also stop the while loop. I hope this information helps.

  • A button on the front panel reset

I use a record button on the front panel, in the mode "change when you press on. I have run the VI, then press the record button. After having intercepted the VI, the button lights. How do the button return automatically to the OFF state during execution of the VI next time?

Set the property to "False" node, it will reset.

  • pause button on the front panel

    Hello.

I try to run synchronous, continuous analog conversion of 2 cards of PXI-6259, and capture the State of the several digital at the same time.  I managed to get everything is configured and working properly, however I have a problem if the user presses the button "pause" on the front panel.

From what I can tell, acquisitions of data will continue to run in the background (I'm using a task DAQmx and stop was never called).  For my analog inputs, this is not a problem.  However, the digital inputs always generate a ' 200010 - on-board memory overflow error. Due to the limitations of system and/or the bandwidth of the bus, the driver could not read data the device enough fast to follow the flow of the unit. »

Is it possible to register for an event of user interface that is generated when the user presses the button "pause", so that I can stop the acquisitoin of data before the error occurs?

    Thanks in advance,

    -Rich

I thought to add my own button "pause" / control, but my users have become accustomed to hitting the pause on the front panel button, and it will be difficult to get them to change.  I guess that the error would remind them :-)

Well, that's easy to fix - change the appearance of window properties if the toolbar is not visible, while the code runs, and there will be a pause button for your users to click.

Many of our applications have a function somewhat like this.  My colleague implementation in a very simple way: he put the graphical indicator within a box structure.  Connect a Boolean control "pause" to the structure of the case, and that's it.  Data acquisition runs constantly but will only update the chart when the pause button is false.  This approach might work for you?

  • Button of the front panel & remote control questions Qosmio F30-140

Hello to all users of the Forum and to whom, who prefer Toshiba to a daily activity of s.

I am owner of laptop Qosmio F30-140 for 7 months. I can say that I m happy with my laptop. But about 2 weeks back, I had some problems, which I can't resolve up to our days.

I use Windows Defender to protect my PC from alert elements, applications of which I erased by this program once. There after I ve discovered that s keyboard buttons in the library and the remote responds does not and does not control panel. I had tests to recover by Qosmio player recovery CD, but unfortunately all attempts have failed.

Please help me solve this problem, because I am deprived of my remote control, in which I so need.

As for you and best regards.
    Dr.VugarVali

    Hello

Looks like you have just messed the whole OS.
Use and relocation of the recovery CD Qosmio Player will not allow Toshiba cotroll buttons and remote control.

In you case reinstalling the driver would be desirable; Start with Manager common Module, controls, remote control.

If it does not help the use of CD recovery Toshiba does wonders! ;)

But note; Don t forget to back up your data because the recovery CD formats the HARD drive!

  • Create new vi by clicking a button on the front panel

Hello. I'm quite new with Labview.

I have to use an if statement to activate a button (I don't know if it is possible or not in LabVIEW) then when the button is enabled for the user must click on the button (allows the button say NEXT) to close that vi and open an another vi to a specific address. I have need to record anything the previous VI that I just need to close and open a new one.

  • Best way to share your photos - PSE 14?

What is the best way to share your photos?

When I consult with PSE 14 mode full screen, I see the full picture with captions.

    However:

    • Legends are not available in mode see the hand PDF Slide.
    • Create PDF Slide show mode, subtitles are available.
      • Howevever the full picture is not available. Most of the "themes" seem to cut the top and the bottom of certain images
      • And the themes seem to hijack images, rather than simply presenting the photos.

Would like to be able to capture and send the view from the mode full-screen as a PDF or something.

Still, what is the best way to share photos by e-mail?

    Thank you... Ron

We have all different ideas on sharing via "email address" and often features elements are not satisfactory for our purpose. You have perfectly described two features of pdf, share via the output to a pdf slide show (or video) or pdf.

Both are quick and easy, but there is no direct way to display captions with images full resolution and without transition effects.

You can use the function 'Print' with 'other options' Organizer configured to display captions, date... and specify one of many virtual printer drivers send the result to PDF instead of printing (standard in Windows 10). A quick and automated to produce a PDF without transitions and captions.

Or you can use a free, good software like Faststone resizer to prepare your output with more control over the size and position of the legend.

I have another problem: my use of the legends is such that I'm not all the legends that are shown, and I don't want each picture to have a caption (or title or date...) In fact, the text I want to appear on the pdf presentation would be specific to each image, with a different position depending on the image. It can be done with some work, and the result is much better.

When I want to share (I like Dropbox, but other storage cloud solutions are good), I choose my output size: (rare), HD TV screen full resolution or smaller. The Organizer, I do a resize a selection based on the height in pixels, then another resize a canvas based on the width, in pixels, with a black background. Can I edit the files individually to add text (not necessarily the legends) where I want to. It's the only job that requires little time, but the result is much better than including legends, both for the appearance of the text and the coherence of the story.
