Beta of coherence 3.5 - configuration issue

Failure to have overflow of work with the new partitioned off-lot, I wanted to test if not partitioned off-lot could now be made to work with overflow (as a binary calculator seems now that there is this - or well I guess that support partitioned supporting plan binary calculator might not consist of nio support cards and working properly?). However, I ran a few problems with how to configure correctly.

In the example previously posted by Gene, I found the following article:
<external-scheme>
     <nio-memory-manager/>
     <high-units>10</high-units>
     <unit-calculator>BINARY</unit-calculator>
     <unit-factor>1048576</unit-factor>
</external-scheme>
but the nio memory manager also have parameters to its maximum size: it seems an example of genes that this setting should more be set or is it just in the conspiracy with the support partitioned plan?

I also found the following in example of genes:
<backup-storage>
<!-- as of Coherence 3.5, the backup is partitioned by default -->
    <type>off-heap</type>
</backup-storage>
is the size of the default backup the same as primary storage?
I write if I partitioned backup storage, but rather the former nio backup card?

I would be really grateful if someone could show mercy for my efforts and give me an example how I re a cache near an overflow of back card nio of packaging and the binary calculator using (if it is supported in fact now - it's maybe just wishful thinking, on my side)! Otherwise, the pointers are also appreciated and I continue to experience...

Hi Magnus

If the problem is related to the configuration of your card-game support. It will run as partitioned. This means that each partition will require 32 MB of memory NIO.

Given the default number of partitions, 257 will therefore require NIO 32 * 257 Mbyte memory. As the support plan is not instantiated until you have something that we can no more, this memory is allocated when a second node is introduced.

When you use NIO in the support scheme, we recommend a smaller size as 1 M max.

Hope that explains it.

Thanks in advance for any help provided.

    Tom

    Update:

Was certainly the java version showing a very old 1.4. The configuration error was in my windows PATH variable env, which contained a very old version of java related to a former Oracle BI installation I've had.

The fix was to remove all references to this former location of java in the path variable. Once this has happened, I was able to shoot to the top of sqlcl immediately without problem.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions of Jeff. No doubt the eureka moment I needed to sort.

Now to start your fun with this new tool!

  • A bet with the network team - configure the VLANs on Teddy does not work against Cisco?

    Hello

We have a great place of Esx and I have a bet with one of the network Admins.

I configured a vSwitch to work with 1 bear. On this vSwitch I configured 1 vlan with a Vlan ID 100

I told the guy from the network to set up the bear side here and he said he has set up 'Access' and not trunk as normally I ask because it's only 1 Vlan.

I said ok and we tried and nothing works, when I configured the Vlan 0 in the Esx, it started working.

Of course we cannot leave it like that and need to Config the Vlan on the Esx.

I told them that once I configured the Vlan on my side there is nothing to do there, and they need to do the thing here.

    they say the same thing.

Who is right? It is something they need to configure side here if she's 'access' and not 'trunk '?

or is it something at my side?

  • Configuration issue VLAN

    Hi all

I'm a newbie on VLAN and spent a lot of time googleing and youtubeing trying to learn more about the virtual LAN, but now I'm stuck.

I think I'll need upgrade to vSphere Enterprise Plus Standard so I can use the dswitch to specify local networks virtual, but not sure.

    Your expertise will be appreciated.

That's what I'm trying to do.

I need to put some of the vm (see Security Server) on the DMZ servers, and since they all share the same NETWORK card on the host, the only way to do it is by using the VIRTUAL LAN. (I think).

    Our network consists of:

    Cisco ASA 5510 - 3Com 4200G Switch - switch PowerConnect 2724 DELL

Every PC on the LAN are connected to the 3Com switch.

All 4.1 vSphere hosts are connected to the DELL PowerConnect 2724.

    VLAN 1 = LAN

    VLAN 2 = DMZ

    Cisco ASA 5510

0 port: Connect to the Internet

    Port 1: Connect to 3Com switch 48-port

    3Com 4200 G

Port 1-46: assigned to the vlan 1

: 47 connected to DELL 24 Port switch, assigned as a trunk in vlan 1 and 2

: 48 connected to Cisco ASA Port 1, assigned to vlan 1 and 2

Reference DELL 2724 (Installer in question)

1-23 port: assigned to the default vlan 1 for now.

Port 24: As trunk assigned to the vlan 1 and 2.

Port 1-2: connected to the VM NIC host where view Security Server and DMZ will be setup.

I have installation subinterfaces on the Cisco ASA for VLAN1 and 2, thanks to engineer Cisco that helped me.

Basically, we split an interface to use the 2 VLANS.

But after its installation, the local network was not able to talk to the Cisco and vice versa. I ping the other PC or vSphere hosts on the local network, but cannot access the internet or Cisco. From the outside, you can connect to the Cisco but cannot ping the cisco LAN.

Do I need to have some dSwitch on the vSphere host to install vlan1 and 2?

I DO NOT use vlan1 since it was a vlan by default of the switch?

Or are you a better solutions for our mess?

    Fine thanks

    See you soon.

You allowed 101 VLAN on ports of junction on the physical switch on which the uplinks are connected?

For an example of Cisco configuration, see http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1004074

  • ASM configuration issues

I'm looking to see what situation is better regarding my ASM configuration and what would the dispatch behavior. I use OEL 5 Update 2 x 86-64 and 11 GR 2 Oracle database and 11 GR 2 ASM.

    Configuration 1
    4 physical HD RAID 5
    4 100 GB LUN
1 disc ASM for each LUN
2 (DATA and FRA) ASM disk groups
2 ASM disks by ASM disk group

    Installer 2
    4 physical HD RAID 5
    2 200 GB LUN
1 disc ASM for each LUN
2 (DATA and FRA) ASM disk groups
1 disc ASM ASM disk group

    Question 1:
In configuration 1, given that the ASM disks for group to data disks are on the same physical disks, would be this important cause of hotspots. I understand it undoubttedly would claim.

    Question 2:
2 installation, ASM would not fail because it cannot scratched in this configuration with only one disk of the DSO. In other words, the ASM would work but simply tape even if the physical HD underscore aren't be scratched by RAID 5.

    Question 3:
What Setup is better in terms of availability and performance?

    Thank you.

Please see my previous response on hardware RAID, you must use. It depends on your fault tolerance acceptable device, compared to considerations of capacity and performance, also depending on your storage controller.

The configuration you have provided, I suggest to create 4 readers (LUN LUN) of the same size on your RAID storage space. Then create a large partition on all 4 discs and use for example Linux ASMLib to assign these scores to the DSO. ASM to create a diskgroup (+ DATA) using the 4 ASM disks with external redundancy.

I would not throw the discussion about the location of the ASM parameter in this thread. It's a completely different subject.

In the element, you can specify multiple addresses of server that will be judged by customers in a random order. If it does not respond, the client tries the next.

  • WRT310N configuration issue

I am trying to set up a network at home via my WRT310N router N Wireless, but have a somewhat convoluted Setup, go home. More specifically, I have a Verizon Actiontec modem/router combo, G who is serving more than one PC Wired has provided, as well as some wireless clients. I would like to connect the WRT310N the ActionTec router and have a Wireless N dedicated va that can also access the internet, but also a handful of wireline customers. Two routers are connected wan wan port port.

However, I don't know how to set up the "Internet IP" of the WRT310N so that both routers to communicate between them. If I put a static IP address which is identical to the IP of the router, I get a warning indicating that the internet IP and router IPS are on the same subnet and is not kosher (which I guess makes sense). Define the Internet IP to DHCP function results in no IP being pulled from the Actiontec router (presumably for the same reasons)

Is anyway to configure the router behaves more like an access point?

Worked like a charm. Thank you!

  • Cisco 867VAE configuration issues - does no routing between LAN & WAN

Im trying to configure a 867VAE to use our ADSL line. I can do to connect to the ISP, get an IP on their part and can ping 8.8.8.8 (Server DNS Googles) since the CLI routers but the side LAN does not work.

Im just trying to assign static addresses to the side in the 192.168.1.0 LAN range, but it does not seem to carry the traffic from one side to the other. Can it be related to not being able to assign an IP address to all four ports Fast Ethernet (switch)? I get IP addresses cannot be set up on L2 links so Ive vlan1 configuration instead, but that cannot link to any real interface

Attached is the current running config

Can as a question you please recommend a good book to learn how to do this sort of thing?

    Thank you

Hi ports 800 series which are l2 may not take an ip address like you because they are pure switch ports, so if you your using several VLANS part SVI Layer 3 must be set to the router and the switchports to shared resources, if only using the vlan 1 should not no need to trunk or make changes to these default ports , they are in the vlan 1

You have a switch involved or are your PC connection directly to these ports, you set the gateway default ip address vlan 1?

The interface vlan 1 shows to the top and to the top when you run int ip see the brief

VLAN 1 is related to these ports, so when you connect to a pc with a correct address in this range him vlan will come and you should be able to ping from the local pc to the internet

You don't have to bother with books that all things CCNA are on youtube and much easier to learn videos and books as you can see it being configured

Do you have a data Plan BlackBerry enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?

You have to, to get the push RIM email functions you are looking for, as well as services of BlackBerry data such as the Web browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger and much more.

Then call your carrier and you learn about to have added to your account BlackBerry data Plan.

Looks like a carrier problem, check with the carrier the correct/linecode framing are in use and the third circuit is smooth. Config seems good.

Even if the Interface is up and down and will not join Multilink, another useful command is to see the ppp multilink gives you a quick look at what interfaces are attached to the multilink, just for future troubleshooting.

  • LDAP configuration issues

    Hello world

    Using APEX 4.2, RDBMS 11 GR 2.

I tried to configure for APEX to authenticate users in Active Directory after a certain number of messages in the forum but do not have the bees with success. Grateful if someone can help. Here's my server details (I replaced my server/domain with example.com):

    Domain: example.com

The distinguished name (DN): CN = name, OU = HQ, OU = accounts, DC = example, DC = com

    sAMAccountName: case flast

I used the above DN string to authenticate by using the simple_bind_s function in the DMBS_LDAP package and works very well in the workshop of APEX SQL and SQL Developer.

I tried in the APEX by specifying in the field DN with the following, but it doesn't work:

    CN = % LDAP_USER %, OR = HQ, OU = accounts, DC = example, DC = com

Also tried in the APEX of what follows as well but still does not work (as suggested by some posts):

example % LDAP_USER %, OR = HQ, UO is user accounts, DC = example, DC = com

Example\%LDAP_USER%,ou=HQ,ou=User accounts, DC = example, DC = com

Example/%LDAP_USER%,ou=HQ,ou=User accounts, DC = example, DC = com

Can someone tell what I should try?

    Thanks in advance

Thanks for your reply. I think my 'short' (in this example) is "example". I also tried, but it does not work.

This a mistake? Or show us to debug information.

You must add the schema of the apex to ACL.
