  Hello

  I need help to find line number in excel.

  Actually what I try to do is, I use the scanner to read the barcode (string) then I need to search for the same string in the excel file (my datas are recorded as like this for ex: in line 5, column 1 I have to chain column 2 column 10 (West) I have certain values). Now when my string corresponds to the West his will display values from column 2 to 10, so I have to find which line matched the West channel number.

• The Drop Down Menu number of Excel spreadsheets?

  Trying to open an Excel file created by my boss in number. There a few in drop-down menus, (pictured below) and they will not display correctly. Many prefer using numbers than Excel, anyone know of any tricks to make this menu drop-down appear in numbers as in Excel?

  In Excel, you can automatically fill a drop-down list with values within a specific range of cells through 'Data Validation '.

  Numbers have no drop-down menu, but it doesn't have a Menu called data format.  It is easy to populate a drop-down list with values manually; Select the cells that contain different values which you want to make a choice and format on the Shortcut Menu. The result will be something very similar to your screenshot.

  But in doing so fully automatic as in Excel is not currently possible in number.

  Numbers provides an attractive work environment, but if you frequently need to exchange documents with your boss and your boss uses Excel, then better use Excel.

  We are in the process of transition of 8 LabVIEW and TestStand 3.5 to 2009 LabVIEW and TestStand 4.2.  We use Microsoft Office Toolkit a little in our work to manipulate Excel and have problems with it.  For example, if I try to use the new Report.vi to open an Excel file, it will open the file successfully, but the 'report' that we would normally have the reference number for the workbook is grayed out with an unknown type.  VI of the sample and the screenshot attached.  All the ideas that we have put in place bad?

  Between 8,0 LabVIEW and LabVIEW 2009 (I think that the change was with the version of LabVIEW 8.5), the report generation tool has been updated to use the LabVIEW Classes.  This means that the report on the outputs output parameter a LabVIEW class, which can be used by another generation of report live to refresh the report.  Unfortunately, LabVIEW classes are not currently supported in TestStand.  The only solution is to create wrapper screws that take the exit and flatten it into a string so it can be stored in TestStand.  Then, for any VI that he would use, you would need a wrapper VI to take the string entry and convert into a class of LabVIEW (nireport.lvclass) so it can be used in the generation of reports other screws more information in this regard lie in this post on the forum: http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=330&message.id=14786&requireLogin=False .  The forum post is a few years ago, but the information is still valid.

  No other changes made so have to assume this is connected to upgrade Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium (32 bit).

  Open Excel, and then type the numbers in a cell, press return and they display badly. Example:

  Type in 4828327059196003 and displays it in the form

  4.82833E + 15

  (Although if you highlight the cell, it displays in the formula in the form 4828327059196000 bar)

  Cell format is the default 'General' value, which is (and always has) accept as typed numbers.

• Publisher XML with Excel output doesnot display values 000 or 0000

  Report XML Publisher looks like a table that has segment values that are stored in '000' or '0000' in the database.

  They are stored as characters in the database.

  XML editor when it is running, does not display these Excel output values if these are text fields (such as it is defined in the XML model).

  If she values such as 11190, it displays.

  If she values such as '000' or '0000', it doesnot display at all. They appear empty.

  Please advise on how to solve this problem.

  I don't think that there is anything similare to MS office template generator.
  The only way you can import items from catalog OBIEE is by using the add-in to office BI shown here:

• Number of RTF formatting is not reflected in exit excel

  I have a model RTF containing three columns numbers

  START BALANCE

  PERIOD ACTIVITY

  CLOSING BALANCE

  The beginning balance and the activity of period are XML data fields while the closing balance is a computed column. The problem I encounter is that even if I changed the formatting of the two BEGIN to BALANCE and ACTIVITY PERIOD to the number, only the ACTIVITY of PERIOD is changed to number in excel format while BEGIN to BALANCE is in text format.

  

  I used the same options for formatting for the two columns.

  

  I enclose the rtf and xml data sample. Please help if anyone has a solution for this.

  Problem was with the cell of table and not with the field or the syntax format.

  Deleted and recreated the cell as same as PERIOD_ACTIVITY and it worked

  If you use rtf model put forward = and double quotes around the field as -.
  <><+field_name+>,'"')?>. This will force Excel to treat the value as text and not to apply the number format.

• Placing several sets of data on a graph (LabVIEW for Excel)

  I read in a 2D array (first rank values of the x axis, 2 values for the value axis in line, 30 columns) of a number of excel files. With each iteration of my loop for example, I read in 1 all of these 2D table data, and I'm tracing the curve (using Excel Insert graphic) before I close this file and move to the following.

  I want, however, must be able to generate 1 chart at the end with all sets of data together. So far, whenever I'm iterating, new data erased the old, and in the end I only get 1 set of data (the last game) on the 1 graph.

  I searched through the Forum similar topics, but 1) I have all my data read or typed into a nice big table, they come in the iterations instead, 2) my data values do not share the same values for the x axis, while the beach is almost the same (from 0 to 1) and the number of data points is always 30 (3) I don't think I can use shift registers because all my data is obtained in my loop, when I open Excel (also in the loop) files and read them, so I did not 'Original data' to initialize the shift register.

  Any suggestions on how I was able to read the data, graphics, read the new data, then graph on the same graph without losing my old data?

  You may need to force your data to have the same category axis.

  Another option would be to insert data in excel instead of a graph. From within excel you could have a set graph in place who knows where the X values and are there for each data set and it will draw it automatically.

  You can also try messing around with the Graph.vi of update to Excel.

  I had limited success with the Excel update Graph.vi, but worth a visit.

• Barcode Excel and read the data

  I'm creating a program where I would like to scan a barcode in LV and there LV scan a spreadsheet excel for this barcode and returns the data in this row. I found an example online that allows the discovery of bar code number in excel, but I'm not coming with a strange issue when you try to view the information in this row. My program is the correct barcode in all cases. Only when I get the number of rank 1 line information will be correct. When I enter the information in row 2 lets say it shows the information of line 3. When I enter the tier 3 program line 5 information display. Attached is my draft of the code (this is my first stab at ActiveX control so bear with it please) and a worksheet example I created with some information on how the program works. I have checked the other posts for similar problems and could not find one this hepls with my particular issue. I also checked the thread specific excel but found no link to the code that can help. Any help is appreciated. IM thinking that I'm more looking for something, but since this is my first shot at this type of programming im not very well what it is. Thanks in advance for any information.

  In any case your mistake is that you don't want to connect the line found on all of the methods of Range.Item (get). You must connect a constant of 1 for 'Row' parameters for these two. As you operate on a found range, you don't want to change the line.

  As it is now your VI does not close Excel when finished. The Excel process continues to run in the background. See the example with LabVIEW, which closes Excel when finished.
