  I recently posted a help topic. After downloading the updates on my Windows XP computer, it turns off then will restart on its own. I had some suggestions to solve the problem. If Gates thinks I'll stay here all day to solve a problem that is actually based in the updates they can think again.

  I don't want answers from unskilled geeks who think they are engineering I want windows to take responsibility because it is defective updates. They asked me what updates was installing I ffs there are dozens, how can you expect I note the faulty update. More than 60 updates have been downloaded, you expect me to download each individually (in order to find the faulty update) absolutely not.

  It is the responsibility of Windows to inform us of the faulty update.

  This happened to my computer 12 months ago that an update has been recognized as defective. I went to the thread of responses and informed of the update. At this time a message showed by saying Windows are aware of this defective update and removed.  Is it not high time that Gates and his lackies has apologized for the mess this update creates and we inform that updates is causing our computers restart on its own?

  Don't send me more stupid, ridiculous suggestions is to say uncheck the auto restart button, go to administrative tools - management logs etc. FFs do you think I have nothing better to do.

  If your system seems to be restarted by itself, it seems that you need so that you can see what is happening:

  XP is configured to restart automatically on some system failures, you will need to disable this feature for the information of the blue screen of death (BSOD) will remain on the screen for you to see.  You must also configure XP to create a memory for each BSOD dump file, so you'll have a crash dump file to watch later if debugging more is necessary.

  If your system crashes later, the information you need will always be on the screen and then you can use the information in the dump files memory to understand what the problem is and fix it.

  Disable automatic restart in case of system error

  XP restarts on system failure, so automatically configure your system so it does not, then you can see the error message.

  Configure your system does not automatically restart on system failure and to create a crash dump file when it crash.

  Right click my computer, properties, advanced, startup and recovery settings.

  In the system failure section:

  Put a check mark in the box "write an event to the system log.
  Put a check mark in the box "send an administrative alert.
  Uncheck 'automatically restart '.

  In the Write debugging information section select:

  Partial dump (64 KB)

  Set the directory small dumpster:

  %SystemRoot%\Minidump

  Click OK, OK to save the settings.

  Restart your computer and wait for the next reboot/crash.

  The next time your system crashes, provide more information on what you see.

  Here's a BSOD example showing information you provide:

  Send for the nose and the Red arrows (3 to 4 lines total).

  Send all * line STOP message since there are clues in the 4 parameters.

  If there is a name of the file listed in the STOP message, don't forget to include this information too.

  Ignore the boring text unless it seems important to you.  We know what a BSOD looks like, we need to know what your BSOD looks like.

• Highlight in a table of Pages

  I have a professional document that is converted to Pages because I do not have the software of Bill Gates, and I must highlight the sections, except the highlight option in the menu is grayed out. What should I do?

  highlight the menu is greyed out.

  True, it does not in the text in a table cell.

  Instead of highlighting, use a color fill character.

  Select the text.

  Panel format > text > gear > Advanced Options > fill color of characters.

  

  If it's any consolation, the highlight feature is for display on the screen. It does not print. Here is a document Pages with character fill in the table and the highest point in the body of the text.

  

  After the Menu > file > print > PDF > open PDF in preview

• HP Director & PSC 2510 TWAIN drivers do not work

  Hi all

  I have a PSC 2510 Photosmart AiO on my ACER Aspire 2003WLMi laptop with Windows XP Home SP3 Genuine, Office 2003 SP3 Pro, Acrobat Pro 7.1 & HP drivers 4.2.0 with all latest hotfixes and patches.

  My problem with HP Director is similar to IE7 bug was resolved a few months ago, but this time is odd. After updating my windows for the last updates November & Pro Acrobat 7.0.9 at 7.1, HP Director runs in memory without a window of the application on the screen. Pressing 'alt + space', 'minimize' & 'restore' HP Director window appears with a white screen. Attempt to analysis through the Control Panel, the scan window appears doudou, too. Digitization is able drivers from HP TWAIN workaround ony via Windows Scanner & camera wizard.

  No problem printing. Just another bug HP Director.

  A month later... Problem SOLVED itself! All this time I don't have fact, or uninstall/install software HP AIO. Had no time and I was expecting than Christmas to find. Also, as I mentioned above, I was able to scan via MS Scanner & camera wizard. Now the problem SOLVED itself! By simply installing the latest patches from Microsoft IE: KB958215 & KB960714. -PS. same problem with MS Media Player 11 running in the background without window on the screen is resolved by installing the latest patches: KB955839 KB956802, KB952069 KB954600. Don't blame HP this time. Bill Gates trash sucks too.

  The reason that they have not released all the XP drivers, is that this machine is designed only for Vista because it was used by the great man himself (Bill gates) when he introduced the first Windows Vista, so I think that Toshiba decided to keep it as a single machine vista.

  You may be able to get XP drivers for some of the features in the laptop from the websites of the manufacturers of the devices, Intel for example if she has any device Intel installed etc.

  The error code and the situation are not addressed by Microsoft and hours of work-around so did not work.  Recovery disk was ineffective as a myriad of Internet solutions.

  I had to buy a CD of Windows 10 for $150, and enter the BIOS to boot from the CD Ms.  Once I had the opening screen, I selected "REPAIR".  2.5 HOURS later, I was back to and all running programs.

  MS scammed me once again... Thank you Bill Gates!

• Unstable Vista on Equium A100 - issue of scroll bars

  Vista is really unstable on this Equium A100... or I do something wrong?

  I put t know what s wrong with your Vista because Vista is working ok on my Satellite L30.
  Of course, it s makes my L30 very slowly, but I use two BONES; XP and Vista.
  I use XP for my usual work, because some programs special don t works under Vista.

  In any case, it would be very interesting to know if this strange behavior that happens on the new BONES recovered.
  You always write it happens sometimes. So I think that it of very difficult to reproduce this problem.

  I would recommend again the OS of Vista recovery CD.
  After installation, run the update to Vista. I noticed many available patches!

  (3) any chance of installation/download are only feasible when my boyfriend does everything it does and 'fixed' the laptop.

  ---> Cell phone MAY start, can use internet and MAY be able to download 5 pictures before the system shuts down and the other requires a few hours to wipe the minimum amount of space on the hard disk before you reinstall Windows.

  (4) Windows 7 is the only OS (so far) that we are able to install; We have no other disks, but Windows 8.1, I think, was the original Opperating system and look forward to this return.

  (5) I don't know yet how I will receive notification here on these forums. I'm drunk at 05:59, so I'll find out tomorrow.

  What will work restores your computer to its original factory state using HP recovery media.  It is a DVD and CD set that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs.  You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.

  TRIED to LEVEL WITH WIN10 media USB and after two days creating his stop because she looks stuck.

  My new deskjet 1510 printer bought in Maryland, does not print with my HP Pavilion dv5218nr notebook.  I tried for two days to get something to print.  I was able to make a copy yesterday.  Have down loaded on site and also the disc used to load the software nothing works.   Problem seems to be lost portions of Widows XP grateful for any printer on board.  Must return the printer with sadness.  The price was right, and it had everything I need (without WiFi and FAX, which I don't need).  No problem with the HP service, answer or product.  Problem is the refusal of Bill Gates to support his earlier successful OSs.  What I need is a system of scanning of Microsoft to find problems with printer deficiency.  I always love the simple printer and won't buy again with future software.  HP thanks to put this product on the market without all the WiFi and the FAX and other doo-dads.  Happy Thanksgiving.
