It would be really nice if I could move my PC to that so I can run WoW at 30 frames per second on the smaller settings of at least.

It will not be a system bottleneck because I'm adding new GPU, RAM and PSU.

Probably the Radeon HD 4850 or some other medium to high range GPU.

Just something better than a Geforce 7100 integrated.

FYI WoW allows to launch large on this PC, but its getting worse and worse as you get older.

  • Satellite Pro A300 - should it BIOS for Intel virtualization technology?

    Hi all.

Any Satellite Pro A300 has BIOS option to enable or disable the Intel virtualization technology?
It is mentioned on this page: http://www.toshiba-europe.com/easyguard2008/EN/manageability.aspx

I have A300-01:00 (regular Satellite, not Pro), but its T5850 has not VT is supported, so there is no option in the BIOS. Wonder what is the difference between Satellite and Satellite Pro BIOS and can I try to use Satellite Pro A300 BIOS for my A300-01:00. Of course, I'm afraid I can't :(

    Thank you, Andy

    Hello Andy

As far as I know the BIOS is not a universal startup program and is suitable for specific hardware architecture. Because of this Toshiba doesn t offer a BIOS for several models of laptops.

If your laptop doesn't have virtualization option then there is nothing to do. Updating the BIOS will not help any.

He has a capable T9300 processor for virtualization technology, so it is logical that its BIOS should have this option.

Have you checked all BIOS options? I mean, why ask you? Use the F2 key to enter the BIOS settings and check all the options available on the Advanced tab.

For example: my Satellite A300-1LI has Intel Virtualization Technology option.

  • Is it true that MS has created some files updated bios for WIN7. for old motherboards from Intel?

My MB is an INTEL D965GF and I have loaded WIN7 Pro on what works well enough most of the time.  The Intel BIOS provides from time to time however causes some problems.  First and foremost it is a part of the BIO of labeled ME which was protected by when I received the seller MB and no matter what, I can't break this password.  So, I can't access the parameter/s inside the part of the bios.  Any ideas? There seems to be nothing about it on the INTEL Web site.   BTW, that program seems to have something to do with security for professional use.

Second, the system is loading too slowly IMHO, which I think is due to the use of a bios that is designed for Windows XP.

If you know any source for BIOS files to MS or even any other site, please let me know if I can get this machine working with WIN7,

    Thank you very much

    Jer

Microsoft would never write a BIOS for the material, it's down to the manufacturer to make their Windows-compatible hardware. Intel would be the only source for BIOS for an Intel motherboard and a consortium which defines standards of material for which Windows accedes, it is unlikely that the motherboard is not compatible.

The BIOS level password clearing procedure differs from most manufacturers because there is a menu of specific maintenance. The procedure is here for Intel just in case you've not seen. You can also remove the battery for about 30 seconds with the power disconnected must reset the ME admin password.

  • Problems after "WinFlash BIOS (for notebooks with Intel processors)" HP Pavilion dv6-1129tx

    Evening ladies and gentlemen.

I installed an update for my HP Pavilion dv6-1129tx Entertainment Notebook PC today (see details below). Against my better judgment I thought having the latest version of the BIOS might be a good idea, even if my laptop worked fine as-is.

After update BIOS F.24 I now have the following questions:

    (1) when the display on the laptop turns off due to being slowed down 20 minutes, he don't come back now. If I press any key to wake up, he will the internal speaker beep. As soon as I press power it turns directly to the output instantly.

    (2) I can restart is no longer. The portable computer shuts down normally, but when he tries to go back on it starts, but windows is not loaded and it just hangs. I have to turn off by pressing the power button, then turn it back on.

I installed it just this afternoon and I am posting this a few hours later, so I don't have time to notice other problems of performance after the update.

Long story short, does anyone know or have the original BIOS for my laptop (sp43821)? Or has someone at - it had the same problem and found a solution?

    Thanks in advance.

The only thing I've found so far is sp48024.exe F.5A REV: has the entry date in April 5, 2010.

Do you know if it is the version of the BIOS right for me?

Please do not send me to tune. He shows me no update BIOS, since I already have the latest version on.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

sp48024 is the latest bios for your laptop, but I think that you already have it.  Although the posting date for this update is closed April 5, 2010, the file AVCs to sp48024 on the link below tells the bios is in fact as of March 22, 2010 - see the DetailFileInformation field.

  • Need BIOS for a Satellite M40

What BIOS I need a model of Satellite M40 PSM40E with ATI Radeon and Intel Chipset graphics card?
    Thank you

    Hi Giorgi,

I think the latest BIOS for your M40 with ATI Radeon graphics card, it's the 1.70 version that is available in Windows and traditional format.

There is a version 2.00, but it's only for the M40 with Intel graphics card.

  • Dell Inspiron 620/Vostro 260 NO Bios for AHCI

Dell Inspiron 620/Vostro 260 NO Bios for AHCI

Interestingly, I couldn't even update the bios without the INTEL drivers.

Check in the Device Manager, the machine uses the ATA drivers not AHCI drivers

AND will not install the INTEL RST drivers.

    Why is this?

I tried to upgrade to the version of the Bios A04, but this made no difference.

I did some research and discovered that the chipset in this system, the H61, simply does not support AHCI or RAID. There is no way to activate for a reason. :(

Wish I had known this. The value of this system really went down the tube if you intend to launch an SSD in there.

  • Updated BIOS for HP a730n desktop

    Nice day!

I have a HP Pavilion a730n office, I want to upgrade to Windows 8.

The problem is with the BIOS that does not have the bit eXecute Disable (XD) feature enabled. It is a requirement for Intel processors.

I followed the instructions for the other requirements such as SSE2 and EAP, which is available on the motherboard.

I need only enable support XD, which does not show from anywhere in the BIOS, set up.

Also I checked Microsoft guidance that all processors that support NX also support SSE2. So if I have SSE2 then NX/XD support should be there too.

So, how can I get a BAD BIOS update to support XD/NX?

The motherboard is Asus PTGD1 (Louisiana). I tried their support too, but no luck so far.

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

    See you soon!

You can upgrade to a more recent or new PC.

Your PC was introduced on the market in 2004.  The motherboard is too many generations behind current Intel platforms to meet the requirements of the system of Windows 8.

There is no upgrade BIOS for your motherboard. The only update of the BIOS that was provided was on 2006-05-10, Version: 3.28.

  • Operating system to load BIOS for Satellite Pro A200

    Hello

    I have a PSAE4E - 03300WEN Satellite Pro A200 with V5.30 BIOS and Windows 7 SP1 32 bit.
I improved the T2330 CPU to T8100 and thought to update the BIOS for increased functionality.
But in the Toshiba download page, I get the following 3 options:

2.60 - WIN32 this Bios is only compatible for portable computers with Windows Vista! (32-bit only!)
2.60 - WIN64 this Bios is only compatible for portable computers with Windows Vista! (64-bit only!)
5, 60 - WIN this Bios is NOT compatible for notebook computers equipped with Windows Vista!

    And the question is...
What about Windows 7? I should stick to V5.30 or go to a newer version? :-/

    See you soon!

    > I improved the T2330 CPU to T8100 and thought to update the BIOS for increased functionality.

First of all laptop manufacturers (any manufacturer it is) don t support CPU updates.
Of course, you can replace the CPU but it's your own risk.

But what I mean is that updates of BIOS don't provide additional functionality or improves which would increase the functionality after upgrade CPU and this means that the BIOS update is not necessary to obtain better performance even after upgrade CPU.

However, certain phrases on your BIOS question:
5.60 BIOS seems to be released for portable computers running Win XP:

Other versions of BIOS (v2.60 32-bit and 64-bit) are released for Vista systems I guess that this version should be compatible with Win 7 since its more similar to Vista to Win XP

However, you changed the processor and consequently the hardware configuration is different now, I can't say for sure if the BIOS update would be the best option in this case
