(Bitmap) image? Format for printers used HP 1990

I have an old image / files with a .jep bitmap. These files have been used on HP printers in combination with my old LaTeX files. The bitaps have been included in the DVI file with \special{INCLUDE file.jep}

Can someone help me with this file format? Most likely, the extension is used only in the group where I used to work and could be different elsewhere. I have not found any converter or tool to recognize the format and my attempts to decode it have not succeeded so far.

Thanks for your help

You can get the full analysis yourself (on a Windows system!)  using the PRN file analysis tool in the whole PCL app, available via http://www.pclparaphernalia.eu

As you can see, most of the sequences is describing a raster image to the PCL format, which looks like the following when printed (or read with a viewing PCL application):

The following link provides a brief history of the PCL language and links to the PCL Technical Reference manual and also other PCL5 PJL & manuals:

Be aware that some of the manuals (in PDF format) are several megabytes of downloads.

  • Best image format for InDesign CC

    I wonder what is the best image format to use when you place images in InDesign CC - I have followed the Simple Train video tutorials (which I think are excellent) and note that the images in their layouts are JPEG files.  I'm old-school design for print graphic designer, so I always thought TIFF would be better, can also place RAW images?

    Thanks for any help

    EPS does not support transparency or color management. The effects are raster images in many cases. To ensure high quality use HAVE or PDF/X-4.

    I forgot to mention another matter:

  • Best image format for InDesign

    When I finished editing an image in photoshop, what is the best format to preserve the quality when I'm ready to export to InDesign? I'm not quite worried about the size of the document. Also, how do I export my document in a PDF file to send to the printer?

    jiyasa wrote:

    K, let me see if I got right in Image > Image size, when the image size dialog in pixels/inch set it what be it 300 or below. Could you elaborate on the bleeding? I just pull any item on my page 1/8 "off the page completely or only 1/8" outside the margin for this? (I'm trying to make sense of bleeding/snail thing).

    WHOA.

    The image size is controlled by the capture (camera or scan), and so that you can edit it in Photoshop, size that save you is essentially irrelevant. What counts is the "effective" resolution, which is the resolution to the size printed on the page scaling. If you save an image 4 x 6 inches at 150 dpi, then scale it up to 50% (2 x 3 inches) when you place it in the ID, the effective resolution is 300 dpi. If you scale it to 8 x 12 the effective resolution becomes 75 ppi and it will look like probably like crap in the press.

    Definition of a resolution in Photoshop WITHOUT reampling does not affect the pixels somehow, or the effective resolution when the image is placed, only the preview which is saved with the image. On the other hand, change the resolution, WITH reampling means, that you are to throw (make the image smaller), which is fine if you don't expect to need the image to be larger in the future, or to the new pixels off the air by interpolation (enlargement), and data that rarely works to print.

    The suggestion to reduce the size of the image to 300 ppi is linked to the PDF export settings. There, you have the ability to downsample images during the export process when the resolution is higher than necessary, which speeds up processing at the printer.

    Bleeding refers to the color that extends beyond the trim of the page, then Yes, you shoot at anything that touches the edge of the page on an additional amout for bleed. This allows misalignements in trimming and prevents a thin white edge border, if the cut is a little off. Slug is an aree very which allows you to set special infrormation which may be useful for the printer, but should not appear on the final print. It is out of the background area lost and is always ready.

  • launder the image background for the use of the Web site

    Hi all

    I try to get my pure white background however stuck on how to do it with them affecting the product.

    The image below is 100%. After using the magic wand / quick selection tool to whiten the background.

    Any help will be much appreciated.

    I'm very new to Photoshop so please try and be sweet!

    Thanks in advance.

    Untitled.jpg

    The camera RAW settings:

    1 unlock the layer

    2 CTRL + J - double layer

    3 CTRL + L - open levels

    4. Select the magic wand. Tolerance to 99 set, select subtract from selection. (top left)

    5. Select--> change--> expand 4pts

    6. Select the original Image, and then press the DEL key

    7. the result of manipulations so far:

    8. with the selected tire, click CTRL + RMB on the layer to select again, if you the deselected, select--> change--> extend 2 pts

    9 meadows DEL button

    10. Select--> change--> extend 2 Pts

    11. Select Filter--> Blur - Blur box 1 pixel

    12 make new white BG under the tire

    The blur area steps can be omitted if these images will be reduced in size, assuming that these are for some internet retail sites. I tried to produce the best quality, if you omit the blurry box steps, you will have the lower part of the tire a little upset, but when the dimensions reduced to the internet won't be visible at all.

    Kind regards.

  • Reduce the size of the image file for web use without pixelation

    Can someone help me understand how to better reduce images for fast loading (in slide shows in Muse) web. I did save it to the web in PS and they are super pixelated now. The only versions that don't lose quality are of the original size, and they are large files. Any help is appreciated.

    Can someone also tell me what size each image should be, which is considered to be a too big size (KB) for web images? Thank you, Hillary

    30 quality is quite small, I would use at least 60-70, the file size should be around 100 k, which is very good to go higher up to 200 k is normal, especially with the HiDPI (Retina Display) on newer systems.

  • The callback API viewfinder camera image format

    Hello

    I try to set the frame type in the viewfinder_callback be RGB888 so that I can perform a basic treatment. However, in the code below, camera_set_photovf_property returns EINVAL for each outside NV12 format.

    err = camera_set_photovf_property( handle, CAMERA_IMGPROP_FORMAT, CAMERA_FRAMETYPE_RGB888);

        if(err != CAMERA_EOK)
        {
            fprintf(stderr, "Unable to set property. Error: %d %d\n", err, EINVAL);
    }

    The frame types are limited to NV12 or I do something wrong?

    Thank you

    Andy

    You can search the available frame types from camera_get_photovf_frame_types() and other similar functions:

    http://developer.BlackBerry.com/native/reference/BB10/com.QNX.doc.camera.lib_ref/topic/camera_get_ph...

    NV12 is the only format supported for the viewfinder of the photo currently however.  If you need RGB, you need to convert the image format yourself or use the video viewfinder.  If you need be able to capture good photos, you will need to stick with the vf photo.

    What type of treatment do you need to do?

  • Need to correct format for start of Ticker text

    What is the correct format to include an image in a Ticker view? I read the help screen, and I've tried it two ways:

    (1) c:\ < path >-< path > \etc... \filename.jpg
    (2) fmap:images / filename.jpg

    In both cases, I just get the text I typed in, NOT the image represented by it.

    I think I'm accurately following the information on the help screen, that says this for the field "start":

    Start text: Specifies any text or graphics for display at the beginning of each new drawing results. You can use HTML to format the text.

    If you insert an image, make sure you know where the image. If the image is for your use only, the following is a sample place:

    c:\mycomputer\temp\report.gif

    If the image is for use in a shared environment, it must be on a network accessible to all users. For a shared image, specify the UNC name, for example:

    \\ALLUSERS\graphics\report.gif

    Hi Mark,
    do not use fmap in html, but use the address absolute or relative to the image, that is:

    absolute:

    or a parent:

    I prefer the relative link, since it is independent of your environment.

    Kind regards

  • Change the default format for burning discs of this system active files in the ISO image format

    How can I change the default format for burning discs of this system of active files to ISO image format?  I don't want the active file as the default system and really don't want to have to choose what I want to use the default every time.  It's boring. I have Vista x 64 on my computer and have not yet adapted to all the changes in XP.

    Thanks, but it's not useful.  It is more that an 'improvement' Microsoft did that, as I fear, is a total and far failure to be an improvement.  It also means that I'll just use a 3rd party program to burn all my CD/DVDs.  You know if I wanted to be able to remove, reformat, etc.. CD/DVD I would use those rewritable.  That's why they exist.

  • Lines of white brush model customized when you use raster/bitmap image

    Hello

    When to use a PNG image of raster/bitmap for a custom model brush, that I have the chance to see white lines when I use this brush on a stroke, whereas if I use a vector image (illustrator) for a model brush I don't see all the white lines.

    For example, I had two brushes model, perfect each containing a black rectangle of 256px X 256px. One is one PNG image which shows the white lines, the other a vector image (illustrator) who doesn't show white lines.

    illustrator-problem.png

    How can I get rid of these white lines when you use an image as a brush model raster?

    It is probably the result when an image is interpolated for the corners.

    If you create a separate rounded image for the corners and use it to a rectangle, there is no need of distortion and the result would go well (within the limits of a bitmap into a vector application model).
