Hello

The monitor goes into sleep or power off or the computer goes into sleep or screen saver (black screen) makes its appearance on after only a short period of inactivity.

Check your Power Options:
Extend the life of the battery: battery power on laptops, laptops and netbooks:
http://www.Microsoft.com/atwork/maintenance/battery.aspx#fBid=8eBaOgb7POr

Change the options for the screen saver in a right-click on the desktop > properties or personalize (Vista and Windows 7) > screen saver (Windows XP)

Hope this helps,

    1. Open network connections by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type adapter and then, under center network and sharing, click view network connections.

"I can't start my computer once he has had a BSOD. Something overheated, but I don't know. I removed the CMOS battery and replaced in order to asure me that a bad overclock on a core component has not caused the problem. Now, it restarts correctly, what is / was the problem? »

  • Blue screen when you perform the search for live TV in Windows Media Center on the new Lenovo A700

I just got my new Lenovo IdeaCenter A700 yesterday and have been busy setting up.  The computer is equipped with a built-in TV Tuner and I tried to put in place the TV on it so I could watch TV on my computer.  I have RCN for cable and a cable TV that gets first plugged into the decoder and then I plug the cable to the TV - so I just plugged this cable on my computer instead of the TV.

I used the following Web site to set up using Windows Media Center - http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/9166/learning-windows-7-setup-live-tv-in-windows-media-center/.  After that I put in my zip code he sought the power of the signal or something and then I got a blue screen.  To restart the computer the information below has been MS. error message This happened to me twice.

Anyone know how to fix this? Or otherwise, I just want to use my computer to watch TV on, and if I can do this other method other than Windows Media Center free I am happy to do.

This seems to be resolved now... it was maybe an update of windows, like when I rebooted my machine it updated automatically and after that he worked all of a sudden!

Anyway, now it shows a black screen and no sound for all channels, but that is a different problem... and I'll look in to that.

  • Black screen when I restart the Satellite M305D-S4830

    Hello

I bought my Toshiba Satellite M305D-S4830 laptop a few months ago and I had a little problem with it.
Whenever I choose to "Restart" of the computer, it normally stops and begins to restart, but the screen stays black and the DVD player seems to loop start (like if it tries to start, but it may not).

It does this, infinitely and finally, I have to hold the power button to turn off and then on again.
    There, it starts normally.

In addition, the computer stops perfectly and boots perfectly when he was the previous order.

In any case, I can fix the function 'reboot '?

    Hmm that's strange

Have you tried to recover the operating system and to check if the problem still persists after using the recovery disk?
    Select this check box.

In addition, you should check your BIOS. Maybe a newer version is available.
    If so, then update!

  • I get a black screen when I play videos in Windows Media Player and Windows Media Center.

Until recently, all worked well for a long time. Now when you try to watch live TV or a DVD, I get a black screen with sound in Windows Media Center and trying to watch a DVD in Windows Media Player I also get a black screen with sound. The controls are there and functioning normally. DVDs are normally visible in the K-Lite Media Player Classic.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, a tuner TV of SiliconDust HD Homerun networked and a videocard ATI Radeon 4550. I have all the latest updates.

I found and tried many recommendations of the Internet for problems like this, and none helped.

The video card driver is the latest provided by ATI to Microsoft for Windows Update and is dated from 19/04/2011. I tried to install the latest Catalyst software and driver from the ATI site, which does nothing to help, and then uninstalled. These drivers provide no option to adjust the hardware acceleration.

I had an older version of K-Lite codec package installed. The problem does not change if I have the old version, the last 32 + 64 bit version or no version installed.

In Control Panel, I tried to disable Windows 7 media, reset their reactivation components and reboot again. There is nothing.

I had an older version of installed package from Cyberlink. The problem remains the same if I have the old version, the version the most recent or any installed.

I tried to uninstall all Apple software: QuickTime, iTunes, etc. There is nothing to help.

I tried to create a new user account; same problem there.

I have VMware and a virtual machine that is running 64-bit Windows 7 Professional. In this machine, I can view DVD normally with Windows Media Player, using the same physical DVD drive. I don't have Media Center set up in this machine.

Title photo: original No. in Media Center and Media Player

The problem is now resolved. I removed the software installed probably because the problem started, and Cisco Webex, which I did not need, was probably the culprit, although I'm not 100% sure.

Thanks to those who have tried to help.
