BlackBerry Curve 9300 Smartphone won't be using the wifi service

So I'm not the first person to have this problem.  I've been trawling the web looking for solutions, but nobody seems to have any.

The problem is that my Curve 9300 won't use wireless instead of data network services.  I can connect to wifi fine networks.  The phone searches for networks, connects, puts a little icon on the home screen saying that it is connected to a wifi network.  It lists the name of the network to the top.  Everything is great, except that when you actually use the internet, the phone connects to your data instead of wifi services and you get charged data consumption.

If you disable network services to try to force the phone to connect to the wifi instead, you get the error message:

"You are not currently in an area that can handle the communication of data.  Therefore, the browser can't retrieve all of the web pages.  Please try again when you are in a different location, or contact your service provider if the problem persists. »

To confirm:

My Data Services are on.

My APN settings are disabled.

In Advanced Options, my default browser Configuration is set to Hotspot browser.

In General Properties, the default browser is Hotspot browser.

In the Configuration of the browser, the browser is configured to AT & T Mobile Web.  I tried to change it to Hotspot browser but I save the changes and exit the screen, then when I go back to check, it's at AT & T.  It's not save the changes to make the default Hotspot.

I did a battery pull to see if that would help and after restarting it allowed me to keep the Hotspot as the default configuration but it would not connect if the mobile service has been disabled.  He is now back himself to AT & T and still does not work.

I read the thread on the forum "BOLD", but for all the people complaining having the same problem, there is still no solution.  I really want a resolution to this because I do a lot of travel and my card sim may not always connect to a local network.  I want to be able to go to a local coffee shop and be able to connect, even if I don't have telephone service in a foreign airport.  I don't understand what is the point of having wifi on a phone if you can't use it.

OS 6 is available for BlackBerry 9300, please connect to www.blackberry.com and download the latest software from the support section device, install it on your PC and then connect a device with PC by using the USB cable and check for update of the device.

  • BlackBerry Curve 9300 Smartphone update

    Your carrier: Airtel

Model information and the version of the OS (go to settings, then Options, then): v6.0.0.706

Can someone please tell me who is the latest OS for curve 9300 3 and how do I put to it with step by step instructions. I am new to Blackberry Upgradation and all.

Hello and welcome to the community!

The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.
    • Find out who is the 'last' is difficult, however. Each carrier controls the release of the OS to their customers, but some carriers do they not release what they receive from BB. Yes, 'later' is a matter of company by company, not a universal.

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

  • BlackBerry Curve 9300 Smartphone does not start. Stucks at the splash screen

    Hello

I have a brand new Curve 9300, and within a week he is a. I updated its OS to version 6, and it worked perfectly.

When I tried to configure my email, he asked automatically updated with the installation of my e-mail service provider software. I chose just ok. I received three warning messages, which I don't know exactly but it was something may not work correctly (with respect to the difference in version). I just kept facility, and he asked to reset.

When I restarted the laptop, it goot stuck to the start screen. Then nothing! The thin status bar below fills BlackBerry logo until either full, nothing happens. When I wait more long (a few minutes), I get a message on a white screen with a small font with "App Error 606", with an option to "RESET".

I took out the battery and restored a few times, nothing different.

    Notes:

    • The LED does nothing, except for a single red wink when it restarts
    • The keboard seems to be sensitive. I get the Alt and shift indicators at the top right when I press on the
    • The power button does not appear to cause any response

    I appreciate your help.

Edit: Desktop software indicates that the device is not connected, even if it is attached to the USB cable.

Edit: The combination Alt + Shift + Delete causes the system to go to a blank white screen with this "app" error mentioned above

You use BBSAK or JL_Cmder to wipe the device and then load the operating system on the device. Follow the instructions here:

  • BlackBerry Curve 8520 Smartphone won't turn on all the way, please help!

I have a blackberry curve 8520, I bought last month some time.

I woke up yesterday morning and the balckberry was off and not turn on after that I pushed down on the button. So I loaded for some time, and yet, it wouldn't turn on. Then I took off the charge it, took out the battery, put the battery back and it restarts. The loading bar went well in the end, and my ISP logo appeared. And that's when he stopped loading. All that will show is the logo, it does turn off, unless I get out the battery again.

I had downloaded an application the previous evening, he stopped working out appworld, which could affect it? I tried to connect it to my computer, but it won't let me delete or add applications.

I take out the battery for hours and the SD card. He still wiil only turn on until my ISP logo.

Help, please! Any advice would be helpful.

    (1) make sure that you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    (2) on your PC, go to start > run and copy and paste the following line exactly (i.e. with quotation marks):

    'c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader\loader.exe' /nojvm

    (3) the Application Loader Wizard will appear - click on "next".
    (4) in the ' connection: ' drop-down menu, you should see "USB - PIN: UNKNOWN". Click on the button "next".
    (5) you should see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Press Next and finish, and that you are well on your way to get your Blackberry to life. Congratulations! Just unplug and let the process finish completely.

NOTE: If you do not display the list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead to see the message "the Blackberry Desktop Software has no Blackberry Device Software for the device you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator', then you must download the Blackberry operating system for your support and your device.
    http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate type of carrier and network, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the steps above again and you should be on the right track.

  • BlackBerry Curve 9300 Smartphone

today is my second day with my new curve. I'm sychronisé with the USB cable but when I connect to my laptop, it never completely - connect it just repeat myself 'connection '. Is there something I can do to put an end to the eternal loop?

Restart the PC and the BlackBerry, and then try again.

With the BlackBerry powereddevice, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart. A reboot in this way is prescirbed for most the gltiches and operating system errors, and you will lose any data on the device doing so.

  • BlackBerry Blackberry Curve 8520 Smartphones won't lock! Help!

I recently bought a new Blackberry Curve 8520 and it was working fine, until a few days before, when he starts does not.

Whenever I have would work actively one * button to lock as you're supposed to do, he shuts.

I tried to l ' turn off and then turn it back on again, but it will not always lock.

It is really annoying because I can't put it in my pocket without Pocket-dialing, one of my contacts.

Any ideas on how to get it to lock again?

    Hello

The Blackberry is designed to be reset by removing the battery while the power is on. Leave the battery for a minute or 2.

See if that solves the problem.

  • Locked blackBerry Curve 8520 Smartphones and can't find the mute button to unlock

Hello.  I have a BB Curve 8520.  I was looking for just the page options and then I think I clicked on the speed dial option.  The keyguard option has 'a' and I clicked it and it locked the keyboard.  I didn't realize there was a lock for my keyboard (and had been in charge of looking for one).  However, I can't get it unlocked.  When I press the menu button, it appears that the keyboard is locked.  Press the button Mute to unlock. »

However, I don't know where is the Mute button, nor can I get it to unlock.

My theme is precision zen (I think) if that makes a difference.

Does anyone know how can I unlock my keyboard?  And then how to lock successfully in the future?  I guess I don't understand the aspect of the phone speed dial.

    Thanks for any help!

Never mind.  I used the tutorial to find the button mute.

  • BlackBerry Curve 9300 Smartphone - "call failed".

    Hello

Because your questions are 100% voice-level (No BB service is involved in your question), you should first make sure that your BB is eligible for use on their network.

    1. If you bought your BB directly from Movistar, then you must go back and see them.
    2. If you bought your BB than elsewhere AND that the BB was not built for Movistar, then you should check to be sure that the BB is properly prepared to be used on any medium:

Otherwise, you need to talk to your provider (Movistar) to understand why your BB will not work properly on their network.

    Good luck!

  • Locked blackBerry Curve 9300 smartphones?

    Here's the situation

My sister has traded his watch a BB 9300 curve (nothing else came with it outside of a sleeve)

His friend told me that she got from her boyfriend, but she didn't need because she already has a.

My sister gives me and ask me to make it work, it can get data signals, but when you try to call someone or send a text it fails immediately.

    Turns out it was stolen

What can I do them to me or my sister as his so-called "friend" doesn't want to cooperate, but still has the ego to admit she lied and confirmed that the aircraft had flown.

    Thank you for your time

Hello and welcome to the community!

What can you do? Well, you could start by pointing out this 'friend' to the police.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Curve 9300 Smartphone cannot detect Vodafone 3 G - ideas?

Full Story! : phone had a new trackpad fitted under warranty, while the SIM vodafone away was used in an old 2G phone for calls and texts. Now he's back with a new trackpad, the phone detects no Vodafone (United Kingdom) 3G which means BBM/email only come in at home when connected via WiFi more the loss of all of the other 3G functions out of WiFi range. Vodafone customer service tell me everything to an end is working properly so the phone must be in fault, but when you put the phone in manual search mode it detects not the T mobile networks and '3' 3 G, makes me suspect that the problem may reside with Vodafone. I would appreciate suggestions for this problem.

    Thank you very much.

    Hi hampy,.

    Welcome to the BB community...

problem is with vodafone or your BB... normally, if your sim is 3G enabled so it makes no difference to the 3G connection if your use of this sim card in a handset that is 2G activated a few days...

best way is to put the sim card in a 3 active combined G and see if you can connect to the 3G network... If you can, then the problem is with your BB handset, if not with vodafone... once u are the cause of your problem, continue accordingly...
