Blackberry design question

Hi all

I developed Blackberry application development using native blackberry.  In what I have to add several resolution devices supported.  In the design point of view I fill and margins to the fields in my screen. So I think that's not good programming.

Please someone tell me any way to write code in blackberry supports all resolutions (i.e. jre 6 and 7).

After going through many links I got information about LWUIT components. So please someone tell me what is the best use of coding or LWUIT native blackberry to blackberry.

Thanks in advance

Simon suggested, I wrote some of my thoughts as part of a number of tutorials, see here:

http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Java-development/tutorials-for-new-developers-part-1/m-p/1621...

I think the user interface of one is 10 tutorial.

As Simon said, the thing with the user interface is either:

(a) the creation of a specific Interface for the form factor, you post (so it comes to take into account the size of the screen (pixels), resolution (DPI) and orientation)

(b) creating a General UI that is appropriate at run time to match the form factor.

For most applications where you don't need pixel perfect poster, I think that (b) works very well, there are a variety of approaches you can use.  Take a look at this tutorial.

For example, Simon chooses the UI (such as icons) in assets based on the screen resolution, so choose icons of different size according to the screen (Android does something similar, and you can do this same sort of thing in BB10).  Otherwise, I'm trying to understand the bigger picture in construction and he adapts the device.  My experience is that the scale on the device works OK, but I suspect that some will say an image of 96 x 96 pixels scaled down the device to 64 x 64 pixels could not look as good as the image 64 x 64 prepackaged, try and see.

I have a few design questions about ISE v.1.0.4.573

    1. The ISE 3395 gigabit ports are supported on the aggregation of links?  How can I use all 4 ports uplink?
    2. When you perform an installation of 2 x 3395 HA, is there a connection of heart rate between the two ISE or they will use the same link to the network of pulsing and synchronization?
    3. I'm designing ISE with WLC. My setup WLC (5508) looks like 5 floors with different VLAN but same SSID. How can I do ISE authenticate in this scenario because WGB AP is not supported in ISE v.1.0. Is there a work around for this type of WiFi to the ISE configuration?
    4. Continuous configuration above, roaming from one floor to another floor after changing of Vlan, the user will be re - authenticate or use the same session?

    Thanks for the help.

    1. the current version does not support the aggregation of links...

    2. they use the same link to the network of pulsing and synchronization.

    3. my suggestion is to assign your SSID, a group of interfaces, containing all interfaces belonging to your VLAN, on your WLC and set AAA replacement. And then, at ISE, create authorization profiles include the appropriate VLAN. Use the Called-Station-ID RADIUS attribute with your MAC address of the AP as a condition.

3 camera - Back Side Illumination for the best performance in low light

    4 NFC and direct Wifi

    5. HDMI port

    Hi @mhk_nk

Thanks for your questions! Comments below

    1. The BlackBerry Bond contains Paratek technology inside.
    2. BBM, video and voice calls on BlackBerry leap will use BlackBerry Natural Sound Technology
    3. Our team is always working to improve the quality of the camera that includes low-light pictures, but to better understand your question can you expand on what you mean by Back Side Illumination?
    4. The Leap of BlackBerry supports Wi - Fi direct only, there is no NFC capabilities
    5. The Leap of BlackBerry does not have a HDMI or Slimport position but it does not support Miracast allowing of you share your screen with Miracast enabled devices such as Smart TVs

  • Z30 blackBerry speaker question

I love my z30 and have always been a BlackBerry guy, but maybe I should change now. I went through 5 Z10s with the same question pregnant and now 12 days after buying the z30 I have the same problem. Seems to be the place I work with metal and dust to enter the enclosure and it blows. After 5 z10s, I bought a q10 and it never blew for 4 months. I needed to return to a full screen for several reasons and now with the z30 it's the same question.
The speaker of the ear that starts to become crisp and then a few weeks ago and it goes completely dead. Everything else works, but the speaker. Reading other forums, it seems the z10 had the whole issue and many people had to fix these. I can't go through to get my phone fixed or replaced every two weeks up to what should I do? Everyone else here runs iPhone and Android, phones and never had this problem. It must be the way the President is the Setup program that allows him to get easy dust. I even try leaving all day in an ample and no help. Please let me know if anyone has any help. Thank you
I really live the phone and hope I don't have to get rid of!

Its not a blown speaker, collects dust from metal on the surface of the speaker (s) and pulling them towards the magnet restricting their movment, disassemble your phone and get your torches outside, turn your regulator oxy up to about 50-60 lb/PO2 and blow off the dust of the speaker.  I have a xperia T with the same question that only it takes about 2-3 months before the sound quality is unbarable. Also have a 3 years, Motorola Atrix 4g, who has never had this problem.

This is my point of view as a welder Jman.

  • BlackBerry 10 Questions on app and updates BB10

I recently got a classic BlackBerry and I have a few questions.

First of all, BlackBerry apps world somehow checked or scanned for malware? I'm pretty skeptical of third party software, but I would like to install a terminal emulator any. I was looking at Term48.

Secondly, I read that the new private will have Android on it. Does that mean that BlackBerry will become yet another Android phone salesman and that 10 BlackBerry will be interrupted/not supported in the near future?

    Thanks for your time.

Applications submitted through BBWorld indeed pass tests and checking for malware. Indeed, even if you install APKs (that you can on a device BB10), those are also checked by the Guardian BB app to see if they are known to contain malware or other problems. It is perfect? Without no doubt... but I do not remember all any confirmed report of malware, viruses, or other such things on BB devices. BBs are still safer mobile devices available.

No one here in this community of users may know (or, if they are not, reveal) what the future holds. My speculation is that indeed the PRIV aura Android, but BB powered secure... a kind of hybrid OS. BB10 is not known to be scheduled for the end of life, and don't we know if the PRIVATE is the only, or the first, this device to be released by BB. We all need to wait and see.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry App question BB protect & BB ID

Hello everyone, we have a problem with Passport BB, we bought a while ago. The user created BB protect function as well as BB ID 1. Now you are asked BB ID after startup. 2. when we enter valid BB ID and password, the BB is back: "protect the BB service turned on which protects the device against the vol. connect you with your BB ID used on the configuration of the device. The device is stuck in this endless loop. I would like to, no BB identification have been used on this device before. I checked the BB ID on the internet. The ID and the password works. Hi belinger

As you say about BES, maybe there something with political control impacting to BBID. But I'm not sure about this, that's why we asked sdgardne and knottyrope opinions.

  • BlackBerry App Question on applications of BB...

Hi, I currently own an android on a vibrant phone. I am looking for a new phone and I am considering the iphone 5 OR the z10 blackberry.

With my current phone, I have 2 things that really annoy me when it comes to apps. What I want to know about the BBz10 and its applications is...

Bb apps require a lot of personal information such as my contacts or location or phone info? I know that a few apps would be, but for the samsung apps, I've seen applications such as chess want personal information which I think is not necessary.

In second place on my phone there are a few applications that require that I must go and force them close even after that I have quit the application. Apps BB have this problem or are they finished running when you leave them?

Every Android owner will know what I mean with my questions. I hope BB apps are better when it comes to personal information and not being not so invasive.

    Thanks for all the answers.

Hello and welcome to the community!

Your question about personal information in applications actually would be better directed to application developers. BlackBerry does develop all the apps... in fact, only a small fraction of them. 3rd third-party developers create their applications and place in them the requirements they desire. I not saw nothing on BlackBerry where you indicate, except in the apps that would be a reason for it (for example, BB trip simply needs some data works properly). Here again, I did not use the types of applications you mention as examples (for example, chess).

In regards to the release of the app, BlackBerry 10 is pretty good all by releasing apps. Historically, apps had the ability to leave themselves a resident when closed in a way special, but so firm, they could be forced to close really. The BB10, I don't think that there is the capacity in fact in the same way, but I also think that BB10 is very well written from a perspective of memory management.

    YMMV.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry 10 Question on update to OS using the ADF.

Question some time ago, I upgraded my Blackberry OS using the ADF. Everything installed properly, but I found two questions. One was could not download and install the driver from SD card (SD card is 64 GB) the second was Assistant of Blackberry does not really worked. I could type and it would work, but nothing happened when I used the voice. Is this a known issue or something I am doing wrong?

Everything I heard, this source of Autoloaders contains intentionally paralyzed (for developer purposes) OS packages. You need a source that uses the final manufacturing code launched to build the autoloader. All that I understand, BB does NOT have any fully functional AutoLoaders with production code. It is clever users who have figured out how to create them. It's the source that I use and trust:

Of course, you must be careful and raised up on top of what is code of production compared to the leaks before you download and use any automatic charger.

  • BlackBerry 10 Question about email and android runtime

    Greetings,

Just, I got my new Z10 and have a few questions.

    1. is it possible to email to send in plain text by default? I see that I can select email but don't want to accidentally send a html email or I will never hear the end of it.

    2. I was wondering if it is possible to disable the android runtime, and how do we know if an application in the BlackBerry world runs on it?

Edit: going to throw one over there:

    3. I see I can transfer files via WiFi and SMB, since I have my device and the SD card, encrypted, if I transfer files (I use smbclient from samba) are my files encrypted on the fly?

    Thanks for any help,

    Brian

Yes, Built for BlackBerry means it's a native app for BB. Here is some info:

    https://developer.BlackBerry.com/builtforblackberry/documentation/overview.html

The runtime executes in its own shell protected so he can do no damage to the device, but if you don't use a lot of apps, it should not be a problem. Keep in mind that some apps don't come that android ports so you will be somewhat limited.

  • Smartphones blackBerry Newbie questions

    Hi all

    1. I can't open the internet browser - "no longer" on my phone.  I get a message that I am unable to connect to the internet and contact my ISP.  (Yes, guys... I have checked the forum and have tried the 'register', but am still unable to open the browser.  Any suggestions before I have to call and wait hold forever? The most confusing thing, it is that I receive all my emails and can text but can not go online?

2 - I got a HTC Touch phone before my BB8310 and much of the Rogers music store downloaded music on my computer.  My question is: How can I transfer these to the BB?

3 - my BB has GPS.  No maps so?  Is it because of the problem of the internet that I question or do I have to download these maps?  The cards can be downloaded on my pc and then transferred to the BB?

  • Music of Smartphones blackBerry - Newbie Question

I have a BB8300 with a 4GB MicroSD card and after reading all the problems associated with music, I understand the best way is to activate mass storage, close all programs BB on computer and add to that the music sub-folder Blackberry/music my question is should I put subfolders for each album or simply place the music by individual tracks? Thanks for any help

If you want to sort records in your blackberry, you must ensure that the information is in the ID3TAG of mp3 files. Creating folders will not help you (although it will be easier for you when you use Windows Explorer).

Don't forget that you can also use iTunes to sync with the new "Blackberry Media Sync".

  • Smartphones blackBerry Strange question... Help please :)

Hello everyone, I am Ozzy, and this is my first post (I think?) on the support forums. I hope you're all well on this cold day today.

I was hoping you could offer me help on issue of ths that I'll explain in details.

    Info on the device
I have a Bold 9700. Device is unlocked and I use it on Tmobile.

Apps - I just last night installed CF Google and Google. I removed Score Mobile earlier and am now remove scoremobile fc to see if it wil solve my problem.

File before and after a battery to remove/replace. (Go to settings, then Options then status):
I have 43.8 MB free space left (Woohoo!, I managed to find a lot of free space since OS6 installed 2 months ago now, have not had problems surrounding this OS install )

A battery pull fix your problem?
Nope - I did several battery grips without my question being fixed. Im making a new one because I deleted an application.

Installed apps and their version if possible. (Go to settings, then Options, then applications):
    Once if necessary

BT device model/version (you have to look at the BT device):
    ????

Well, until this morning, 08:32 my device connected to the internet totally don't fine - no problems.

Now, I can not connect at all! I tried a BBM ping and test the message to a friend, I sent my service books, made 6 or 7 battery pulls and uninstalled apps that I installed last night. Despite all this my phone doesn't let me connect to the internet.

Twitter says "loading...". "because I have messages from refereshed, Opera Mini is not connect and my native browser is not connect either! The service books that I resent have not come back to me again?

I got a free internet for totally centuries now, this could be the problem? . Would Tmobile took my free internet? It was working fine this morning, but . Voice calls seem to work fine (although I have no credit to make calls, the Lady at tmobile voice connects and sounds good).

Also I dropped my phone too, but only from the bed to the floor (and not a high level on the floor).

Any advice? I feel lost without my BB operating . It's a part of me why are not the service books

HIE Ozzy, it comes to your first post in fact unless you have a different user profile. About your problem, a thing of interest that I see if the fact that you were able to surf the internet for free for ages. BlackBerry services are paid for about US$ 10 per month. Maybe you were lucky and now the deficit has been filled. Then, contact your service provider and ask your BIS account status, maybe they will give you an answer, or else you can start paying for the data service on a monthly basis to the access service.

  • Smartphone Newbie question blackBerry - general question on the synchronization of e-mail

    Hello

I have a general question about the synchronization of e-mail and BlackBerry smart phones.  Y at - it none of the devices that enable E-mail synchronization with Microsoft Exchange 2007 system not requiring BlackBerry Enterprise server?

Thank you; Sorry if this has been asked before but I was unable to find it in the forums, documentation, etc.  Guess what I found for this kind of environment, you will use a BlackBerry Enterprise solution, but I can't assume.

    Thanks again.

The short answer is no - BB using a different methodology than the use of WM. BB Push, WM uses (for most) sweater. As a result, the long answer...

BB uses a server solution - it's called the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) and it is hosted by your carrier. As an ENCORE, you create a BIS account, then create configurations for different emails, save your credentials for each e-mail account with necessary configuration items (as an ENCORE) (name of the server, the special ports, etc.). Then, BIS periodically checks your mail servers (about every 15 minutes) for any changes on the server that are required on the BB - only, so it generates traffic to your BB to expel these changes. If there is nothing that need to come to the HH, there is no traffic on the network of the carrier.

WM, on the other hand, devices use (for the most part - there are exceptions) a technology pull... the device itself asks your e-mail servers for changes that need to come to the HH. This generates more traffic on the network of the carrier that the action of the poll itself generates traffic, even if there is nothing to come to the HH.

Another distinction is the notion of synchronization - in the vernacular WM, it means that what makes your Inbox to the server mailbox and your lines of mailbox HH of the each other for everything (items old and new)... In the vernacular of BB, what is happening is the reconciliation of the new features and changes. But the old elements aren't coming for BB... only news of the moment of activation.

Another distinction is just what reconcile to a BB - new, remove, read/unread, saved, etc. Which varies according to the messaging service... see this KB for more information:
