  • BlackBerry smartphone WiFi HotSpot connection

    Dear BlackBerry community

I had my BBTorch 9800 OS6 over a year now, which is a fantastic phone that complements any work that I do, that I use my phone as a modem.

I find that sometimes I can have text, but it puts pressure on connection cards, when connected to the PC.

I tried to find an app BB which contains a WiFi Hotspot, a connector where I don't have to put pressure of the components of my PC and phone BB.

I understand the 9810 Torch carries this standard application, this application can be installed on the Torch 9800 but also found our BlackBerry App World.

Any info on this subject will be much appreciated.

    Yours Sincerely

    JTV

    Hello

    Please see this KB:

(The access point feature is limited to 1) your carrier allowing these 2) with OS 7.1 on your BB. Access point is not one add-on app available through any means other than the meeting of these two eventualities.

    Good luck!

  • Error Activation blackBerry Smartphones Wifi Hotspot

    Hello
So I have a bb 9320 than it is on a data plan and I haved tried to turn on the wifi hotspot thing and it said activation requires someone can tell me how to solve this problem and if it's free or not

Your cellular network provider blocked the hotpspot wifi on your subscription service, as some of them will ask you to take an additional connection. Contact the service provider to have it activated.

  • BlackBerry Smartphone WiFi hotspot connection does not

On a car PC, I set up a hotspot for mobile devices - any device can connect to WiFi it provides and use it to access the sites. However, one of our customers told us that he cannot use it with Blackberry.

Feature, we need is the site access, no need to UMA or any other extra features specific to BB.

First problem we had was that BB could not associate with hotspot at all. Which is now fixed by disabling "wmm" HotSpot.

Problem that remains open is to access Web sites. The browser is set to "access point mode", but whenever I get the url into a browser that the request times out. The entry door is correct, DNS-server (gateway itself) is also correct, assigned IP address correct.

I dug into it, and I see that most DNS queries reach the hotspot at all. When I try DNS utility test results are the same - most DNS queries are not reach hotspot. I can see BB exchanging ARP "who has" APR "is to" packages and that's it.

Ping to my hotspot works when I chose "WiFi-bridge" (However it does only once after the requests timeout later ~ 1600ms,). When I try to ping via IP any request time-out (but I see in the newspapers that ping reached my hotspot and it responds immediately).

Config Hotspot is atheros wifi card (2413) based in ap mode driver is 2.6.38 ath5k kernel. I use hostapd to create network wifi and dnsmasq as DHCP/DNS server.

I saw this thread (http://forums.pinstack.com/f156/hostap_madwifi_ng_atheros_and_w004_error-76140/ ), but changing anything in the BB is not an option (it should work with any blackberry). Also change your DNS address is not an option.

Confirmed that it is a problem of ath5k driver. Work (at least partially with driver madwifi).

  • BlackBerry smartphone WIFI hotspot icon

My icon of wifi dissappeared from my menu of networks and connections. Does anyone know how to get it back?

It's a basic application, you will need to reload your OS.

Plug your BlackBerry Desktop Software phone and wait for your phone to be recognized.  Once this is the case, click device at the top of the software and then restore.  Choose the most recent restore point and the load.  Who should restore the Wi - Fi icon on your screen for connection management.

    I hope that helps you.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones only "hotspot browser".

I've updated my facebook application to the latest version, but just after that the update of it... i cannot connect to facebook or any other internet-based application. My bbm has stopped working and I could no longer emails. I went to the options of the browser and discovered that I could only go on the internet via a hotspot "browser"... There is no other choice. I tried the battery pull or HRT "sign up now" option but nothing happens. ".  I had my SIM card and inserted into my wife BB and everything works fine.

I don't know what to do next... Please help

Hello and welcome to the community!

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you should contact your provider of wireless services for formal support.

  • BlackBerry Smartphone Wifi and Email Setup

    Hi all

I recently bought a unlocked BB Bold 9000 in the United States.  I am currently in Hong Kong where I use a local SIM card for my phone.

During the initial installation, I came across two issues:

1 email to "create or add an email address" option was not available, and

    2. Wifi: It's what's really irking me.  WiFi means I should be able to connect to any hotspot, the free space, the network that I have access, regardless of my plan, correct?  I feel I have tried everything, but when I go to the browser, he repeats to me "you are not currently in an area that can handle the communication of data, therefore, the browser may not retrieve all of the web pages".

I'm really frustrated by the wifi configuration, so if someone could help me, I would appreciate it.  My friends with IPhones and the basic sim cards browse far and I have purposely NOT buy an iphone.  Hope we can prove them wrong.  Thank you!

To create an e-mail account on the device you need of blackberry data plan from your carrier? you have a?

  • BlackBerry smartphone wifi does not

When I go on a website in a place where I am connected to wifi, it says: I'm on a service plan which requires a wifi connection to use the app and need to update my data plan. Facebook is the only site that works. What should I do? Thank you!

If you don't have a BlackBerry data plan on your service account, open your Options > advanced > browser.

Configure your browser for HotSpot, then save.

You should be able to surf any website now.

  • BlackBerry smartphone WiFi on 8320?

Could someone help me to set up WiFi on my Blackberry Curve 8320? I don't have the Internet plan, but a friend told me that I could always use WiFi if I were in a range of WiFi. Is this true? I think I have everything set to the top (I went to manage the connections, WiFi, digitalised networks, running and put in my WEP for my home wireless). He says that it is connected with a couple of bars.  However, when I go on the browser, and then on the web, it says "you are currently not registered to a pan of web2go. Click here to view plans... etc.

I'm doing it wrong? Can anyone help?

    Thank you

  • BlackBerry Smartphones, wifi and mobile network Q

If I turn on my wifi at home & sign in, & at the same time, let Mobile network on... fresh data which of them will be run out of?  The Mobile network will win or share or just use wifi?

Also I was wondering because I wonder if light work wifi when I'm at work, save my data & pass their lol

    TIA!

    Hello

In general, BBs "prefer" WiFi network of business for services BIS data. You can always check inside the connection management > State of Services, which BIS route is average.

But you should also check inside the apps... many 3rd party applications have configuration items, inside the application, allowing you to order the application to use a data compared to another channel. What I always do is run my apps use BIS... in this way, they will follow along as BIS shifts between WiFi and my network of business data. But, if (for example) you configure an application to use only your corporate data network, while the app can avoid past well after BIS BIS to WiFi, and this app may well continue to consume data out of your network connection data carrier, even if BIS moved to WiFi.

With older OS levels, you had no choice, but to leave the "Data Services" set on "on" any channel to use, which often caused the situation described above (BIS on WiFi, but some consumption of carrier data app)... disabling the Services of data, these levels of older OS, BIS-level data for all channels off including WiFi. With the later levels of the operating system (somewhere in the OS7 range, I remember well), you can actually turn off the parameter Data Services and wireless leash... that allows BIS to still work on WiFi, but prevents any application using the data carrier network regardless of how the application is configured.

But... I'm curious... you may have about the features that only work on SmartPhones BB, yet your profile on this site says you have only a PlayBook, in which case none of this applies since the PB has no radio has WiFi and mobile only. But, you posted this in the "BOLD" of this site section, so you could guess assumes that you have a "BOLD" in addition to your PB...

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphone Wifi not connecting

OK my 8220 pearl is able to extract the parameters of my linksys wireless router no problem but it is wont connect to the internet. I tried all the security, wireless setting combination I can think of but it don't always work, even with no security enabled. On manage them connections screen I get ticked box Wi - Fi 'green network name' with the white dashboard where the check mark green or red X's. Thanks for any ideas

OK guys, I have some GOOD news!

I literally just got the phone with t-mobile and talk with a blackberry specialist!

I originally called to add the package Internet blackberry, think that's what I had to use the wi - fi and boy I was wrong!

The Tech Rep told me that I don't have the internet package blackberry to use WI - FI. And I said: are you sure? and she said... Let me show you!

Then she took me to the Options, then the Advance Options, then browser and under 'Configuration of the default browser', she had me change "t-mobile" to "Hotspot Browser" and I have connected to my WI - FI connection to work and was amazed! I was surfing the internet, downloading of applications and messengers do Business!

She said that the reason why I couldn't navigate before was because as I didn't that defining all of tmobile, my phone thought I was trying to connect to internet using tmobile cellular internet service which I do not have a subscription for and that is why he has never worked.

So overall, I correct my answer to a previous post on the same subject, the guy who lets you know if all your other wi - fi is right installation, then this is definitely the last thing you need to check that you can surf the web using a WI - FI connection.

I hope to see some post saying that it worked for you guys!

Thanks for reading and good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphone WiFi displayed but does not

    Hello

on my BlackBerry Curve 9320 normally I have a very good WiFi connection because my router is directly beside me. For two days, I have the problem that, when I'm on Wifi, it does not run any connection (not even the browser); on the mobile network, everything works fine. I restarted my phone several times, but the problem is still there. It's a little crazy because I got the phone only 1 months ago. Can someone help me?

    Thank you

    Philipp

Remove the battery while your phone is on, then replace it. Then restart your wireless router.

Try these two steps and post back with your results.
