BlackBerry Smartphones 4.5 OS install, need help

I tried to update 4.5 min and there Simon that my phone has the most up to date software, but its only running 4.2.2

I tried the installer from here

http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/services/devices/#tab_tab_upgrade

I have a Curve 8310 from AT & T.

SOM, one can help me or just tell me why it will not update yet? I like the idea of the Visual possibilities. I can't wait to upgrade to the new operating system.

OS 4.2.2 is the latest OS offered by AT & T, and this process of upgrade on the web online upgrades ONLY to the latest OS offered by your company.

However, you can switch to OS 4.5 using the release of another carrier of the operating system:

http://www.BlackBerryForums.com/General-8300-Series-discussion-curve/151886-latest-OS-8310-4-5-0-108...

It is the most recent version available, and this is a good exit. Follow the instructions and this link, as shown in the displayed sequence, and you will be fine.

  • BlackBerry Smartphone Bold 9790 problem! Need help

So almost a year ago, I bought a 9790 "BOLD" of Blackberry. The last two months it should automatically restart all the time. Overtime, it would get worse and worse. He would get to the point where, whenever I would call or send a message, it would be turned off. Yesterday, it was on the morning and off around 9. He lit once around 11, then it does not turn on the rest of the day. I have notes on my phone that are very important to me, and it no longer turns. Sometimes things would turn that plugged while, but once disconnected, it would be turned off. Now, plugged or not it lights. Sometimes the red lights, as it usually did when it restarts on its own. I tried to unplug battery and tried different ways to make it work, just long enough to send the notes which are important for me, for my email or something.

I need help make at least on for a couple of minutes, or in order to get my notes in a safe spot.
The notes are saved on my SD card? In which case I could just take off and get them?
    Please help me

Have you tried to replace the battery?

Only the media (pictures, videos, etc.) are stored on the SD card. Everything is stored on the device. That's why you should make backups using Desktop software and/or activate BB Protect.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones frozen at startup. Need help as soon as possible.

I reinstalled the OS on my Blackberry Desktop and have tried this several times today, but it freezes always at the same point, after about 20-30 minutes to let the phone finally very slowly her!

I was wondering if someone can help me? At the moment my phone is completely useless to me because it froze again.

A couple of days, that my blackberry was showing messages telling me that I had to close the web pages because the memory was full, I just ignored this message but don't know if its has contributed to the problem?

    All answers are appreciated.

You probably (I suppose) have a third-party application or theme do something.

Try to start the machine up in Mode without failure.

Article ID: KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in safe mode

Once started in safe mode, remove/uninstall third-party applications and themes. And then try to restart again normally.

Perform a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart.

  • BlackBerry smartphones attempts didn't release - NEED HELP!

    Phone: Bold 9000

    Service: Orange France

Backround: bought the phone on craigslist seller had brought back from France when he lived there. Great seller who is willing to help. There is no SIM card in the phone, and for some reason, when I put a SIM we in it, it will not even recognize it. Didn't know if this was normal or not, but thought I'd say that it anways. I'm trying to unlock the phone I'm going to live in Germany for the next four months and this thing needs to be unlocked.

Well guys, I was on these forums, reading threads, etc. About unlocking this phone. So I finally decided to pull the trigger and buy an unlock code any freeyourcellphone.com service.

In a first time they sent me 2 unlock codes for Orange UK, but the phone itself is the France. So they then sent me another 2 codes. (they sent 2 for some reason, like this: your unlock code is: 1223345 or 1234567889987654)

So, after all, he's trying, I am now left with 2 Trys! I am very worried because I don't want to brick phone and don't know what else to do. I contacted them and told them what happened again, but I wanted to ask you all for the help. The only thing I have for the phone is a sim card. I tried with my card at & t roommate, but the phone would not recognize it

What should I do? I am really panicking here because I need the phone for work in 2 weeks when I fly to the Germany. Can Blackberry send me the unlock code?

It's their procedure to install code:
You must have a SIM card in your phone to complete these steps (can be active or inactive) *.

1 - Go to Settings menu to => and then Options

2 - Select advanced-online, then on Sim Card options

3 type MEPD using your Blackberry keyboard (NOTE: you won't see any text appear on the screen while typing MEPD)

4 - Type MEP2 on your Blackberry keyboard (NOTE: you won't see any text appear on the screen when you type MEP2)

    5. you should be presented with a y prompt "Enter Network MEP Code".

Type in the unlock code code and press enter

Your phone is now permanently unlocked

And this is the screen I keep to dread to look at because of the number 2 on the screen

Jsanders, thanks for the post, but I eventually find a solution today.

On another forum, I posted on this subject and a very helpful guy of cellunlock.net was able to get the correct code! I don't know what was going on with freeyourcellphone.com, but I don't have yet heard back on their part CellUnlock.net has been incredibly useful and I recommend them to everyone to unlock their "BOLD"

  • BlackBerry smartphone app error 205 reset-NEED HELP

Hi, I have a Blackberry 8900 tank. I was downloading something and than my usb connection accidentally reset on my laptop. Then, I unplugged my usb cable from my laptop while it's up-to-date. Then I get this screen saying: "APP ERROR 205 Reset". What should I do?

Try this first, before what it is more complicated:

See the link below for download and simple installation instructions.

First find your operator and the system operating file that you want to use.
    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

    1. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.
    2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Newbie with 2 questions, need help.

    Hi guys,.

hope you can help. I recently bought a BB Curve and think it's great.

However the LED stopped working. I turned off the unit and removed the battery. When I put it in the LED lights up red, so it must work. I checked my profile settings and all say that the LED must be on. I have changed this setting to disabled, backed up, and then put it back on and saved and still no action led.

The second question is attachments on my emails. I can't open attachments, photos, documents spreadsheets nothing. I use desktop re-Director. Is it possible to have attachments that are sent using this unit or any other bits of software? I have the only BB at work so I'm not so sure, establishment of a BB server is viable.

Your opinion would be greatly appreciated.

There is not all the configuration parameters for the Service of the attachment. The following table describes the supported types of attachments on a BlackBerry

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/KB03265

By default the LED flashes green to indicate that you are in a wireless coverage area. I found it annoying and disabled. Check the setting under Options | Screen/keyboard and turn the LED coverage indicator inactive.

  • BlackBerry smartphones new Torch 9800 user - need help with the Message 'Conversation' feature

I just spent to an older Blackberry Curve to the torch. I'm used to standard text "and will answer' or 'create a new SMS' but T-9800 'Conversation' feature SMS is maddening - all SMS communications with a contact are transferred in a single conversation, regardless of the date or content. I am also unable to send separate replies to individual SMS - just one more in the conversation messages.

When I checked the text Message Options, the option to display only that I could find was for the 'Bubble' or 'Line'. I also was not able to find all the features that allow the user to put an end to a conversation with a contact or start a new one.

If someone has encountered this? If so, is there an option or feature I'm on just to correct these problems? And of course, how?

    Thanks in advance!

Consulted several other forums and just had a face to face with Best Buy rep - looks like the term/phrase I was looking for was "SMS threading"... and there is currently no option on the current operating system of torch for clear thread of SMS functionality.

Well - it is what it is. I'll have to take consolation that, apparently, I'm not the only one who had a problem with the thread SMS functionality, and a possible fix might be made available in the next software update.

  • BlackBerry smartphones, I can't install OS 5 for my Blackberry Curve 8520

I have a Blackberry Curve 8520, with BIS, TIM Brasil.

Official website of Blackberry, I downloaded the new OS 5. and it does not appear in my Blackberry Desktop Manager in the update list or another list, including the Loader.exe list.

I all day, with the exception of the blackberry os, which is currently 4.6.1.272

    Please quick help.

    Thank you

    Mario

You, for sure, your data BB plan active and are able to get the email, etc. ?

What is necessary for the update to OS 5.0.

If the operating system that you have downloaded is not specifically for the carrier which is the brand of the device, you will need to install the operating system on the computer and then when you have completed it, delete vendor.xml file located in c:\program files\common search in motion\apploader.

Then after you remove that, in this same apploader folder, is a file called Loader.exe.  Double click to install the OS on your device.

  • kb2656351 continues to install - need help to stop it

I tried several methods recommended to prevent above update, but it has installed more than 20 + times - once per night.

First of all, I did the fix method 4 someone kindly referred me to, and then tried to 'fix the Microsoft.Net Framework 4 Client Profile.  On the 'fix the Microsoft.Net Framework 4 Client Profile', I was not able to finish because I don't know where to find the patch to install after repair it...

The "fix it" buttons on these various instructions do not seem to do anything to fix my computer from the kb2656351 updated without end installation.

How important is this kb2656351?  What will happen if I deleted it from my computer?

I'm a little savvy, computer but not in the area of repair.

Would appreciate any help I can get - thank you.

After the repair, you should be able to install it from WU. If this is not the case, the download is here:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=28570

Make sure you download the correct update for your system, in case of doubt see:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/827218

If you download the update, try to start the installation in a clean boot state:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/331796

    Some info about .NET Framework:

    http://taurarian.MVPs.org/framework/Net_Framework.htm

In what concerns the importance is, well, if you have .NET Framework 4 installed, then you must install the updates.

If .NET Framework 4 is installed it is more likely a program requires that the version for example, Nero don't.

If you must remove .NET Framework 4 and start the installation, use the tool mentioned here:

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/08/28/8904493.aspx

If necessary use this to check which versions are actually installed-

The user guide for the .NET framework installation check tool
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/10/13/8999004.aspx

I found that in the majority of cases, a repair of the .NET Framework 4 is all that is needed, but some cases have required .NET Framework 4 to remove and to reinstall and specify the updates, perferrably in a clean boot order to not not to disrupt the installation.

  • Frozen BlackBerry Smartphones after typing the password (). Help!

Any ideas before making a hard reset?

Last night, my Blackberry is not completely unblock after as I type my password. I type the right password and press ENTER, the password input section darkens (or it will stay on the "Enter Password" screen and seem to freeze). (If I type the wrong password it just invites me again, so I know I type the password). This is according to that multiple battery pulls.

Sometimes, after you type the password, I can hold the blackberry button and it will bring to the top of the box that allows me to BBM, browser, homescreen, etc and I can "switch" to this program, but there is a sort of shadow frozen area enter the password on the app that never I going to and I can't use the keyboard or the trackball in these applications.

This "box of jelly ' prevents me from using any application on my BB!

I CAN receive calls. Barely. I can only make calls if I remove the battery and only unlock the phone and go to the option to purchase the place.

I upgraded to OS 5 a week ago and until last night, things were fine. I hear my BB when it receives messages (work tones) or txt etc, but cannot read anything due to the lock!

The only suspect is Google Talk, I have installed two days ago and seemed to be hogging resources and drain the battery, however the phone worked well for about a day with it on. Google Talk is perhaps run at startup and hang up things? I doubt it, but it is full disclosure.

I also, pulled battery and removed the micro-sd card to see if it had an effect - unfortunately nothing helped.

An analogy I can think of it is as if Windows Explorer is blocked, but everything else works.

    THOUGHTS?

    Try this:

    (1) make sure that you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    (2) on your PC, go to start > run and copy and paste the following line exactly (i.e. with quotation marks):

    'c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader\loader.exe' /nojvm

    (3) the Application Loader Wizard will appear - click on "next".
    (4) in the ' connection: ' drop-down menu, you should see "USB - PIN: UNKNOWN". Click on the button "next".
    (5) you should see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Try UNclicking the Google Talk application and remove the device and we'll see if that is the question.

NOTE: If you do not display the list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead to see the message "the Blackberry Desktop Software has no Blackberry Device Software for the device you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator', then you must download the Blackberry operating system for your support and your device.
    http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate type of carrier and network, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the steps above again and you should be on the right track.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Re: 9360 Curve problem please help!

An error occurred contacting the client BlackBerry World. If you have a content protection enabled on your device, please disable and try again. the same message that I get when connecting my laptop... Please help me

I think that you... I think that you have tried. But, from what you say here, I have no idea exactly what you have tried. There are the specifics... The KB numbers would help. But telling us just what you have said so far we, we cannot say anything on what you actually tried and therefore cannot give you next steps as we have need to exclude what you have already tried. But you need to tell us exactly what you have tried (even once, would help the KB numbers).

Please consider that we have only your words to guide us... nothing more than that. So far, your words have all the details to help us understand what you have already tried. I think you you tried something... I have no idea what it was.

  • BlackBerry smartphones with new "BOLD" - desperate Please HELP restore historical Email with BES

    Hi all

This is my first post. I'd appreciate any help that anyone can provide. I use a BB 8800 GSM for 2 years and was just delivered a new BB Bold 9000 GSM. I use it mainly to work with our email of the company, as well as for the address book and shared agendas. My company uses Exchange 2003 and Blackberry Enterprise Server, which I can only guess is 4.0 or 4.1. I am

As I said, I use the BB for work and like having my available historical email because I often need to find old emails when not in the office. I saved the 8800 using the SW Desktop Manager v4.6. I also did a switching device using the DM software, while both devices were connected to my laptop via USB. He successfully restored data on the "BOLD". However on the "BOLD" I can't send or receive e-mails with my work email. I can make calls, send text, browse the web, send email from my Yahoo account which is also configured with the BB.

I also connected to Blackberry Internet service page and updated my device on the wireless network and updated the maintenance book. This helped my account Yahoo work on the BB. However, I am still without corporate e-mail.

My question is do I have my BES administrator to make a change on the BES? He needs to make an enterprise activation? If Yes is there a way to make the EA and always keep my historical data via Desktop Manager backup & restore process?

If the BES administrator needs to do an environmental assessment can anyone provide detailed instructions so that I can help him or tell him in the right direction? He believes he needs to delete my account and create a new one. I was told it may need only to update or change the PIN associated with my profile.

Any help or input would be appreciated especially experiences BES administrators. If you need more information or have any questions please fire away.

    Thanks in advance!

You connect the BlackBerry to your work PC when you have used the device switch Wizard? If so you are invited to implement using PIN code (in bold) of the new device, and then generate a new encryption key? If yes then which should have completed the activation process to activate the "BOLD".

If this does not happen your IT Department can issue you a new password to activate. After they do that you just have to go into Options | Advanced options | Enterprise activation and enter your corporate email address and the password, they give you, click your menu button, then choose activate. This will activate the "BOLD" to receive your business data.
